Natasha Denona Starlette Mini Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Starlette
Natasha Denona Starlette Mini Eyeshadow Palette ($27.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a new, mini-sized palette that includes all repromoted shades (from various past releases). It is lighter-leaning, and I did feel like the mattes were lighter than they have been in their prior releases to various degrees. Given that Natasha Denona is known to tweak her formulas, it’s not hugely surprising that there is some variance.

Formula Overview
-
The majority of the brand's eyeshadows are quite pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. The eyeshadows have improved over time, particularly with respect to longevity (without a primer). The original formula often creased on me within seven to eight hours, whereas the more current formula wears eight to nine hours with fading (instead of full-on creasing). The more matte finishes tend to be a bit more velvety, substantial, and less dry/powdery compared to prior iterations.
The metallic finish is often the creamiest, slightly denser in feel, but has excellent pigmentation, adhesion, and blendability. The sparkling shades can have some fallout, depending on how they're applied and how sparkly they are, so they sometimes work better with fingertips or a dampened brush; they can also run sheerer compared to other finishes.
Cream-Powders are the more unique formulation and tend to have firmer, almost stiff, consistencies and more semi-opaque, watercolor-esque coverage. They are longer-wearing, but they can take a few uses to learn how to use. This formula has also improved compared to when it first debuted--it is a bit more yielding now.

This is lovely! I have no need of another palette, but it’s tempting. (Ha, ha–TEMPTalia.)
Good to see that the quality is there but these are so NOT my colours! I’m hoping that one day, Natasha comes out with a smaller palette (under $100, please) that is filled with shades that I love (and that are how they look in ND’s own publicity pics) AND that’s available in-store, please!
I’m thinking about picking this up, especially for when I finally get to go to trial against the RTC whom I’m in the process of suing, as I certainly don’t want to bring my Lila palette along with me! It’s just toned down and perhaps subtle enough for that purpose.
Pardon me, but what is an RTC? (I *did* Google it, & it made no sense),
On other matters, I might try this. Just because I can wear those colors and it’s in my usual price range. Thanks for reviewing this Christine!
Hi Rhonda – it stands for Residential Treatment Center. Basically, although not always, a place where children with disabilities or other behavioral issues are warehoused in isolated locations with little if any outside oversight. Much abuse of children, young and even teens, takes place in quite a few of such places.
Looks pretty!
Nancy, who is RTC? And good luck
Thank goodness at least one brand is living up to its reputation (I keep thinking about the latest and not greatest Tom Ford quads) and bringing out top quality eye products.
Whilst these lean too orangey/peachy for me, I do like the Rhea shade the best.
I love mine. I’ve been wearing it the last couple of days. Pretty simple looks but they are elevated which makes me reach for it even in conjunction with another pallet. Definitely will be my travel companion!
Thank you so much for calling out that galaxia is a repeat! I don’t need this I have the mini retro!
Yes. Big thank you!
This is a pretty, I would guess very good palette for a lot of makeup wearers, it’s not for me, though. That said, I love that last shade, Per Se. I have some dupes, but this shade seems to run rings around those dupes. The quality looks that good. Now, I’m not about to buy a palette for just one shade but I’d get it in a second if I could get it as a single.
She got me again!! Hahahaha!
The shade Per Se is from the Lila palette. I should use it more.
