Natasha Denona Eyeshadow ($29.00 for 0.08 oz.) comes in 66 shades with four distinct finishes (Matte, Duo-Chrome, Metallic, and Sparkling). According to the brand, the eyeshadow formula is supposed to have “full, rich and intense color that won’t fade out, be “long-lasting,” and smooth. The majority of the shimmery shades were very pigmented with a soft consistency that was something just right and other times a little prone to crumbling/loosening in the pan, while the mattes were smooth but quite powdery, which resulted it color that didn’t adhere to bare skin as readily. The texture of most shades is soft, blendable, and most of the shimmery shades I’ve tested applied well to bare skin. The wear was fairly consistent, but there was some variance from shade to shade (which didn’t seem related to finish). The wear has ranged from five to eight hours, depending on the shade. Primer helps with longevity, adding two to three hours to the shade’s no-primer wear time, but they seem like shorter-wearing eyeshadows compared to most powder formulas I’ve tried.
Check out my first review for more depth about the formula as well as a pricing breakdown for singles compared to palettes.
Industrial (45M) is a dark, taupe brown with subtle, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had rich color payoff with a soft, smooth, and dense consistency that blended well without being too loose or prone to fall out when applied. Glam Green (18M) is a muted, light-medium green-ish gray with cool undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque color payoff with a soft, looser consistency that kicked up excess in the pan and sheered out slightly when blended out. On me, it wore well for seven hours before creasing. Cloudy Blue (17M) is a muted, medium-dark blue with a golden shift and metallic finish. It had good pigmentation with a slightly loose texture in the pan, where the powder dislodged from the pan easily. It is best applied by pressing the color into the lid and lightly blending along the edges. The eyeshadow wore well for seven hours on me. Clionadh Fog (P, $5.25) is warmer (95% similar). Makeup Geek Chameleon (P, $12.00) is darker, cooler (95% similar). Anastasia Venice (P, $12.00) is darker (95% similar). NARS Inception (LE, $19.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (90% similar). Pinija (85P) is a deep, reddish-brown with warm undertones and a green shift paired with a frosted sheen. It was richly pigmented with a soft, smooth, and blendable consistency that was slightly dense but not too firm or too loose in the pan. I noticed it was beginning to crease after seven and a half hours of wear. MAC When in Rio (LE, $17.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). ColourPop Ring True (LE, $4.50) is lighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Psych (P, $19.00) is lighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Lounge (DC, $19.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Tropic (08V) is a dark green-leaning teal with fine gold pearl. It darkened quite a bit when applied to the skin (several shades compared to how it appeared in the pan!). It had good color payoff but was harder to blend out, especially around the edges, as it had a thinner consistency that tended to adhere strongly wherever it first landed. This shade showed signs of fading after eight hours. Maybelline Never Fade Jade (P, $6.99) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter (90% similar). Cle de Peau Les Annees Folles #5 (LE, ) is less shimmery, more muted (90% similar). Too Faced Too Glam (LE, $16.00) is more shimmery (85% similar). NARS Tropic (P, $19.00) is less shimmery, less pigmented, warmer (85% similar). Fyrinnae Gender Bent (P, $6.75) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Such interesting shades, I like ’em!
Yay!
Oh, these colours are to die for! I’m beginning to change my mind about the Natasha Denona eyeshadows, haha!
lol! I’ll be curious to see if you get any 😀
Whoa, that’s one very complex eye look! Stunning, but with the way everything blends so seamlessly, I wouldn’t even attempt to do something similar!
That said, I do have dupes for all but Glam Green, and the color of that beauty of an eyeshadow seems very uncommon and hard to dupe! Wish it rated better, but I will be on the lookout for a better quality dupe of it.
Thank you so much, Nancy! 🙂
These shades are gorgeous. But, I just can’t justify the cost when there are so many quality shadows out there these days that wear better and look beautiful as well. I really appreciate you taking the time to review these Christine and I love the eye looks as always! 🙂
I hear ya, Nicole! I can imagine your stash, and knowing some of what you’ve purchased recently, I think you’re good 🙂
Oh my, I’m a sucker for gold shades, especially if they’re infused with more unique colors. Love Cloudy Blue and Tropic, just worried about the wear time on my oily lids, even with primer. Will probably start off small, with a 5 pan from Beautylish, since they accept returns, and see how it goes from there.
These are some of the more interesting ones!
All of these are pretty but Industrial is really special!
It is a more complex shade! 😀
These are more unique shades by the brand. And I love them – the Cloudy Blue, Glam Green and Industrial are all versatile colours. The eye look you have created is sensational Christine.
Cloudy Blue is cool! It reminds me of a MAC pigment – I am totally lapsing on what it is called, though!
Christine, if you could remember which Mac pigment I would really appreciate it.
I just love this eyeshadow! It’s so gorgeous!
MAC Steel Blue – I think it will be a little darker, but it has a more muted, gray-ish blue base with gold sparkle. You can maybe make it out if you squint at this tiny, pathetic swatch from a bajillion years ago: http://www.temptalia.com/mac-cosmetics-the-originals-review-product-swatches
but I am sure a google image search will turn up far better!
Beautiful look. I can probably copy it with colors from my Sleek palettes ?. These seem to be a bit all over the place. I wonder if the ravers just aren’t testing the wear for long enough.
I bet you could! Sleek has a lot of frosted.metallic finishes 🙂
Industrial looks wow! Absolutely love your eotds! if you dont mind can you pls share what lighting you use for taking pics?
Thank you, Parita!

Cloudy Blue is extremely pretty, I think, and this from one who is very sceptic towards blue eyeshadow. I really like Industrial and Glam Green as well. Now I have to check if I can but things from the brand online. Darn! But these are permanent, so there’s no hurry.
Oooh, it MUST be tempting then if you’re not normally into blues!
These are really beautiful. I like Industrial and Pinija and Cloudy Blue is beautiful too!
I see you like the more duochrome-like ones!
I really like the colors Industrial, Glam Green, and Cloudy Blue — but I have three dupes for Industrial, and Glam Green and Cloudy Blue don’t perform so well!
I’m thrilled you at least have dupes for Industrial!
No, I didn’t want to fall in love with these! I NEED Tropic, Pinija, and Cloudy Blue. Guh, so pretty.
Awww!
These are beautiful shades, especially Cloudy Blue and Tropic!
Cloudy Blue is a cool one!
