NARS Mortal Eyeshadow ($25.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as an “iridescent pearl white.” It’s a bright, warm-tinted white with a frosted, metallic sheen. The texture was really soft and smooth, and it applied easily to the skin and blended out well. It had mostly opaque pigmentation. Applied, it started to fade after eight hours of wear. NARS Never Too Late Eyeshadow ($25.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as an “olive green with gold shimmer.” It’s a muted, medium-dark olive green with a golden pearl. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a soft but dusty consistency–it seemed thin and dry, so it resulted in sheerer coverage that was harder to apply to the skin (without a good base/primer to amplify the color and help it stick). The color faded after seven hours. YSL Avant Garde #1 (PiP, ) is more shimmery (95% similar). Makeup Geek High Tea (DC, $6.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer (90% similar). NARS Stud Eyeshadow ($25.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “soft pewter bronze.” It’s a medium-dark taupe brown with subtle, warm undertones and a frosted, metallic sheen. This shade wore well for eight hours before creasing slightly. NARS Stud (LE, $25.00) is lighter (95% similar). Viseart Velvet (PiP, ) is cooler (90% similar). Even though Stud is dupe-able, it’s still gorgeous. Mortal looks like an inner corner highlight color, and I have enough dupes in my stash. I thought Never Too Late swatched kind of weak, and was right —there are so many great khaki olive gold shades out there, this one is so meh. NARS didn’t do this shade justice

The third one, Stud, is simply gorgeous! If I didn’t already have at least several dupes, I would have to get this one.
I’m pretty disappointed in Never Too Late, though. That could have been an awesome shade of olive green if it had been more pigmented!

What a shame about Never Too Late – it is SUCH a gorgeous colour and I don’t have anything really close to it (at least not that is listed in the really close dupes). I don’t want to lay out big bucks for the YSL palette but may just have to…. 🙁

Whilst these are very pretty colours, they are also highly dupable – living in most UD/Lorac/MAC/MUFE palettes. As a singles line I don’t think the colours stand out enough. And it was disappointing that Never Too Late was of poor quality.
I really love your eye look Christine. It is quite sophisticated.

I am waiting for “Stud” to arrive @ Sephora. The color looks unique to me and will fit the void I have for a subtle bronze crease color. I envision adding a teal eyeliner or blend a subtle teal like the color in Bonne Etoile in the corner. Don’t know when it’ll be there, OT, I went to Sephora last Friday to get the 250 pt Bite Beauty Kir Royale set, but all they had was Mimosa, so I passed.

I plan to purchase Stud today and maybe the Besame lippie and check out the blush palette. I need to swatch Stud first; sounds like I may have many dupes. The description of “soft pewter bronze” caught my attention. It sounds more “taupy” to me and I really want it to be more bronze. We will see. Sorry if I misspelled the lippie’s name but that one caught my eye as well.
Thanks as always, Christine.
