Steel is a soft, greenish pewter with a frosted finish. The consistency was very powdery and loose in the pan, which resulted in a lot of fallout during application, as it did not stick well to bare skin. I had the best luck using a fingertip to press the eyeshadow onto the lid. It lasted for six hours on me.
