NARS Tribulation Blush Reviews, Photos, Swatches

NARS Tribulation Blush
NARS Tribulation Blush

NARS Tribulation Blush ($30.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as a “shimmery rosy sand.” It’s a light-medium gold muted slightly by hints of beige paired with a luminous, shimmer-sheen finish.
See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

The texture of this was soft, smooth, and denser than most NARS blushes; it felt the softest and smoothest, without being powdery, of all the NARS cheek products I have ever tried. It blended out beautifully without losing its color or sheen, and the more you buffed it into the skin, the more the glowing finish came out. The shimmer didn’t emphasize pores or the skin’s natural texture either, but this is not a subtle highlighter, so it is better suited for someone who likes a noticeable sheen to their highlighters. I was surprised that NARS didn’t call this out as a “Highlighting Blush” (like Albatross), as it is more highlighter on light to dark skin tones, while very fair to fair skin tones will see slight warmth/beige color, plus the sheen. On me, the color lasted for eight hours before fading slightly.

Glad to see this one got such a good review! It’s a beautiful shade. Looks like NARS will be getting all of my money this Fall.

How close is the color to Nico, though? I use Nico as a subtle blush/bronzer, but in the swatch gallery the two of these seem similar in color (though different in sheen).

You look stunning! Can’t wait to pick this up 🙂 I did just purchase Becca’s champagne pop so not sure if I really need this.

How sparkly is this in person? It looks like it could be comparable to Becca Opal Pressed or Laura Mercier indiscretion, which I found to be a bit too shimmery. Or is it more like Candlelight where you get sheen with no glitter pieces?

I love it!!! This looks like the quintessential perfect highlight powder, and it gives you such a lovely radiance! For me, it will be either this beauty or the Becca Champagne Pop!

Yep,I am definitely going to try to get this. My worry is the release date on Nars website is July 15th from what I have jotted down and I may possible be in the hospital or in no shape to be placing orders.I spoke with the surgeons nurse practitioner just a few minutes ago. Here comes my fears rushing in ( anyone who has seen Inside out can play a little movie here with me,lol). I am going to be placed in an “induced coma and then heavily sedated” for a while to minimize movement of the area where they “manipulate” I am a nurse and I even almost barfed. So, Do you think this will go to the counters or Sephora? I cannot let a Temptalia recommended highlighter get away! I’ll have t getmy sister to try to order it or something, lol!

Wow, this looks really stunning on you. It’s pretty in the swatch, but absolutely gorgeous on your face. I’ve actually been shopping for a liquid or cream highlighter, but I may opt for for this instead. Do you think this would look ashy on medium skin (around NC40)? It doesn’t look like that would be a problem.

I love your blog; it’s obvious that you work very hard on it. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve used the swatch gallery since it went live. And everything looks lovely on you; you can pull off such a range of lip, cheek, and eye colors.

want !! but i am like on a 1$- to 0 money for pretty things right now 🙁 anyone wanna get it for me ? lol send me your leftover christine ! 🙂 btw it looks gorgeous on you

Stunning! I can tell just from the photos that the formula is great! I kind of wish it was a more unique shade though, since I feel like every highlighter range already has something exactly like this. I already have Becca Opal and the Josie Maran liquid.

Malia Avatar

I like it a lot, but I just checked the dupe page and I have like three of those. Ah but it does look nice still, and great to hear good formula and pigmentation on this one!

Cara Avatar

Forgive me if I missed it somewhere but when does this come out? I’m not seeing it in sephoras site?,thanks for the awesome review and recommendation!

Silke Avatar

Oh my, this looks absolutely stunning! I’m quite fair with a natural flush on the cheeks. I never really like the look of very pink blushes on me and always tend to go for a muted colour on the cheeks. This is like a godsend to me. Must have this!

I literally fainted when I saw this highlighter and drove my ass straight to my local Bloomingdale’s department to purchase, one of the most gorgeous shades I have ever seen.

This looks so pretty! I am not very pleased with the results albatross gives to my skin. I’m afraid Tribulation could show off a bit too dark as a highlighter for my skintone (I’m around NC15/ Nars Mont Blanc). Sadly I can’t try it in store because Nars isn’t sold in my country. What do you think? Should I give it a try? 🙂
