NARS Super Orgasm Blush
NARS Super Orgasm Blush

NARS Super Orgasm Blush ($29.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as a “peachy pink with gold glitter.” It’s a golden-shimmered, warm pink with gold glitter. It is Orgasm with glitter particles. I think that this appears slightly lighter with a stronger sheen, though. As a result, all the dupes for Orgasm apply to Super Orgasm–minus the glitter. bareMinerals The Natural High is slightly warmer in its base color (less pink). Guerlain Blush G Serie Noire is slightly deeper and pinker. Benefit Sugarbomb is much, much lighter (and sheerer). Rock & Republic Call Me is slightly less pink. Milani Dolce Pink is more frosted/sparkly. Tarte Glisten is similar–slightly darker.  MAC Springsheen is also similar.  This older post is a good comparison reference for coral blushes.

I’m not a fan of NARS’ glittery blushes (or their eyeshadows). In general, while glitter is absolutely fun, it needs to be something that stays in its place, rather than heading for parts unknown. Unfortunately, the glitter in Super Orgasm does just that: gets everywhere else after you’ve applied it to your cheeks. The glitter doesn’t stick or adhere to the powder, so it is like applying loose glitter to your cheeks. A lot of the glitter does seem to get trapped in the brush or disperse in the air, but I did get some on the cheeks. The texture of the blush is slightly gritty, given the glitter content, but the underlying color is soft and smooth. It seemed to have a higher frost content, though, and it did emphasize pores just slightly. Super Orgasm wore for seven hours well but was slightly faded after eight.

Well, the colour of Orgasm is very flattering on a lot of skin tones in a way that isn’t overbearing. It’s a great everyday shade.

However, I have to personally agree with you because of the shimmer in it, which sort of ruins it for a day blush unless you like strong cheeks. And at night I’d personally rather use a light hand with a vampy blush than get all shimmery. Adding glitter as in SO just makes the problem worse!

I do like the Orgasm lip gloss, however.

This does look pretty on you, though. 🙂 I actually like this one more than Orgasm just because I find it to be more pigmented, but I really dislike the glitter. The glitter doesn’t stick, but it’s just a hassle that it’s there at all.

I find Super Orgasm a bit pinker than Orgasm, which is a touch peachier. I also find the glitter chunks fairly easy to just blend away, which is nice.

Someone once told me, after I said I didn’t like Orgasm because it was just too super-shimmery for my taste, that I should try Super Orgasm. I was confused because I thought Super Orgasm was just like Orgasm but…more. More shimmery, more glittery…I was assured that Super Orgasm was actually not shimmery or glittery and was just the peachy-pink color that everyone loves but intensified. I meant to check it out but now, after seeing this review, pass!! 😛

well we all know that Christine can make anything look good! However, mere mortals such as myself might need to steer clear of this one. The glitter accentuates my pores…

I really hate the name, I don´t like this blush but even if I liked it I would never buy it because of the name, I could really picture my mom asking me what I´m wearing and me answering “Super Orgasm”, though imagining her reaction is kind of funny lol. 😛

I have worn this blush almost every day for 4 years now I’ve never had an issue with glitter fallout, if anything the glitter falls off the brush before I can even get it to my cheeks! This works just fine for me because I could do without the glitter.

I would agree with your review! I bought Nars Super Orgasm blush and all the glitter from it just ended up on my falling to my collar bone and didn’t stay on my face at all.

I love this blush! To make the glitter stick better you can always spray the face with fix+ first then apply the blush so it sticks, the chunky gold glitter is the best part in my opinion.

Omg, those black glittery flecks are supposed to be there? That’s the glitter? Is NARS crazy? That’s not cosmetic glitter, that’s the stuff I used to play with in grade school.

Hi there, I’ve recently purchased SLEEK rose gold blush and it seems to be an amazing dupe for nars orgasm, you should check it out and it’s so inexpensive. Do happy with it I definitely think you would love it also 🙂

The base colour does looks lovely, I like that it’s more pink than Orgasm. But yes, pass on the gold glitter!!

Christine, is this a typo? “It is with glitter particles. I think that this appears slightly lighter with a stronger sheen, though. As a result, all the dupes for Orgasm apply to Super Orgasm–minus the glitter.” That’s how that sentence appears on my computer.

Jade Avatar

It’s more the syntax of the start of the sentence “It is with glitter particles.” Plus the whole sentence is a hyperlink, from “with” to “glitter”. Sorry, I wasn’t very clear!

I have this, as well as regular Orgasm. I find Super Orgasm applies better with a densely packed blush brush, more glitter applies/adheres to the cheeks (if that’s what you’re going for). A loosely packed brush sends the glitter flying everywhere.

This is my fun blush for a night out or something of that nature, definitely too much for daytime.
