NARS Starscape Blush ($30.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “neon pink.” It’s a brightened, light-medium magenta pink with cool, blue undertones and a matte finish. ColourPop Pie (P, $8.00) is slightly darker, cream. ColourPop Homie (P, $8.00) is cooler-toned, darker. LORAC Unashamed (LE) is cooler-toned. NARS Roman Holiday (LE, $29.00) is lighter. Surratt Beauty Se Pomponner (P, $32.00) is brighter. Urban Decay Savage (P) is darker, cooler-toned. Milani Delizioso Pink (10) (P, $7.99) is lighter. NARS Coeur Battant (LE, $29.00) is darker, redder. Urban Decay Quickie (LE) is similar. MAC Peony Petal (P, $21.00) is lighter, cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

As I mentioned in my review of Silent Nude, this is a new formula that’s described as a “soft, silky texture with sheer, buildable matte color.” There’s a bit of chalkiness to the product with some powdery excess that gets kicked up as you touch the brush against the powder’s surface. The texture has that thin, slightly dry feel and the powder is firmly packed into the pan, though it isn’t stiff at least. It’s definitely less intense than a lot of NARS’ blushes have been, but it’s more semi-opaque than truly sheer, as you only need a small amount to get color to pop on the skin. It was fairly blendable but not as forgiving as NARS’ original formula. On me, it lasted for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

I was already eyeing the Colour Pop dupes for purchase, so will go with that instead. Much cheaper and should last longer. Not liking the sound of this new NARS formula– if it’s dry and powdery, doesn’t sound like it will stick on my teflon cheeks, and from the swatch, it seems to stick to dry patches.

Oh I can breathe now. I wonder why they decided to release new formulas just for the LE collections like the hardwired and such :s Probably to test them out ?

Its a pretty color.
How does this compare to Pink Swoon from MAC.
I think that’s the name of it. It was a bright pink, but I think it’s been discontinued.

I get so sad when I see cracked products. lol

The powdery-ness might be bad on dryer skin but I’m wondering if it might actually work out okay on oily skin. My skin is unfortunately oily so I can’t use most blush formulas that add any shine, sparkle, or luminosity because they end up looking to greasy/oily on me. I might try this and see how it works out because even though I’m the palest of pale I do happen to love a bright blush! Appreciate the review, thanks!

It might, but I think the thinner texture may not work so well. The problem is that even though it is powdery, sometimes it just means that it will stick in places but do so unevenly and then not blend out as easily. I’ll be curious to hear if you try it, though 🙂
