Orgasm

NARS Orgasm Liquid Blush ($30.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is a medium pink with warm, yellow undertones and gold shimmer and sparkle. The pigmentation was buildable from semi-sheer to semi-opaque (two to three layers). The consistency was lightweight, thin but not so watery that it sheered out to nothingness, and spread easily across the skin without disturbing base products. For a liquid blush, I found it easy to work with, especially around the edges. The finish was more shimmery swatched than when I applied it to the skin, though there was still subtle shimmer when I tried it on bare skin as a blush. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading.

The new formula is supposed to “effortlessly glide on[to] skin for a lasting glow” where “one pump delivers the perfect amount of natural-looking color.” It’s supposed to have “buildable” coverage that’s “blendable” and “lasting.” It has a thin, almost watery consistency that spread easily, blended out well, and looked natural in finish on the skin with semi-sheer to medium, buildable coverage. One pump seemed like twice as much product as necessary in my experience, though. I liked using fingertips or a stippling brush for applying the product to cheeks but would dispense on the back of my hand or a metal palette first. It dried down quickly but did not feel immovable, so a little buffing along the edges was still doable. The formula wore between eight to nine hours on me, depending on the shade.

Dolce Vita

NARS Dolce Vita Liquid Blush ($30.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark, pinky plum with subtle, warm undertones and a satin shimmer. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin as well as over liquid/cream foundation. I liked using a brush more for applying over base products, but for applying on bare skin, fingertips or brushes worked just as well. The consistency was thin without being too runny, and it blended out around the edges with little work. This shade wore well for nine hours on me.

These are so pretty! I’m loving the idea of transforming them into a liquid, just in time for summer. I’ll probably pick up Orgasm because I can’t have enough of that shade 🙂

Hi Christine,

Orgasm looks very pretty. Does it have the same strong gold sheen that the powder version does? Are you wearing a single layer in this shot? I’m NC25 and this looks plenty pigmented for me.

Thanks!

Sorry to be pesty, but not sure I remember how to compare the powder versions to the liquids. There are other powders listed as dupes, but not the Nars powder blushes from which these arose. When I check the dupes of dupes, I realize I’m pretty overduped for dolce vita, if that makes any sense. Still want MAC fever, though…

This sounds like a more pigmented version of Armani Fluid Sheer–which I love and use as a sheer blush. It’s going to last me forever so I’m not sure if I can justify getting this — but definitely tempting and can’t wait to see your review of the other two shades!

I love that the liquid version of Orgasm does not have the extreme gold sheen that the powder version has, looks really nice on your skin, I’ll give it a try.

Both of them look pretty and so spring-fresh look on you!! Personally I’d love to try the orgasm one, even if I’m not “mad” about the color which, still, is very wearable. I guess that the liquid formula would suit May aged skin
better than the powder one. But here in Italy……maybe for Xmas…… Maybe!?

I wish you would tell us the launch dates on your posts. I’ve notice so have a hard time figuring them out lately. Especially on the Mac collections

I’ve been hearing really good things about these but I think your review has sealed the deal! I’m definitely going to pick these up in the future!

I just purchased mine today at sephora and it didn’t com with a pump! It came with a weird end stick on the black lid. Did you have to purchase the pump separately?

Thanks!
