NARS Hot Fix Cheek Palette Review & Swatches
Hot Fix
NARS Hot Fix 4-Pan Cheek Palette ($49.00 for 0.76 oz.) is a new, limited edition cheek palette exclusively available through Nordstrom. The palette contained one highlighter along with three blushes, though the last blush in the palette could work as a highlighting blush and/or highlighter depending on one’s skin tone. The four shades had semi-opaque to opaque coverage, were blendable and easy enough to work with, and lasted for eight hours on average.

Gold Leash
Gold Leash is a light, peachy gold with strong, warm undertones and a metallic finish. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out without difficulty, though it emphasized my skin’s natural texture just a bit. The powder itself felt smooth in the pan without being too powdery nor too firmly pressed into the pan, so it was easy to pick up less product for less glow/opacity if desired. It wore nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Spark Got Hot
Spark Got Hot is a dusty, medium pink-coral with faint gold pearl that gave it more of a satin finish. The texture was slightly thinner in the pan, which made it firmer and stiffer compared to the other shades in the palette. Thankfully, it was still easy enough to apply and didn’t take much extra effort to work with, though I’d recommend applying it over a more matte finish. The coverage was semi-opaque and buildable to opaque coverage with a second layer. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

From NARS’ website, their blush formula is described as “beautifully pigmented” and “soft [and] blendable.” NARS' blushes, since they've been released in such a massive range of shades over the years, can vary from shade to shade to some degree. Most shades are pigmented with firmer, slightly stiffer consistencies that can also run on the thinner side, which allows greater control when picking up product but some of the more matte shades could be a bit more blendable or easier to work with.
Some of the more newly-released shades have softer, more yielding textures that are a bit creamier and are easier to blend out, though most of NARS' blushes are fairly blendable. The wear typically ranges from eight to nine hours with a few shades falling above or below this range.

Dream Place
Dream Place is a medium-dark brown with strong, warm orange undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The texture was soft, a little powdery in the pan, but it applied evenly and blended out with ease. The color showed signs of fading after eight hours of wear.

Sugar Spirit
Sugar Spirit is a medium-dark, rosy copper with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It didn’t read super metallic when initially swatched, but it was quite intense applied and blended out on my skin. The texture was smooth to the touch, slightly drier and dustier but not to the point where it kicked up excess product in the pan. It had opaque color payoff that lasted well for eight hours, which is when I noticed slight fading.

For a good solid everyday cheek palette, this is beautiful and performs very nicely, too! I love it!
Gold Leash? Maybe Clover would use one, but I don’t see Mellan, Patticake, or Jussi using one. Methinks NARS is up to his old sexy trick names again. No shock value left. This is a pretty balanced warm palette that should suit many. I’m duped on the shades I like, so this one won’t tempt me. Good thing.
Yup. Good thing for me too.
I enjoy this palette, but I can dupe out the shades I really gravitate towards.
Really not an exciting palette. Actually looks a little blah to me. I am not in the market for more shades I won’t use so this is a pass for me. Nars does do nice blushes, most of the time so I can see this working well for a lot of people.
