NARS Defiant Lip Gloss Coffret Review & Swatches
Defiant
NARS Defiant Lip Gloss Coffret ($39.00 for 0.54 oz.) is a new, limited edition trio of glosses. The three shades performed similarly; they’re about average for a lipgloss–non-sticky and comfortable to wear but aren’t particularly long-wearing and because they’re sheerer (as intended) they could apply more evenly/stay out of my lip lines better. NARS Lip Gloss retails for $26.00 and contains 0.18 fl. oz., and this set includes three full-sized glosses, so it has a total value of $78.00.

Big Trouble
Big Trouble is a medium coral with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly but settled noticeably into my lip lines. The texture was smooth, plush without being tacky, and comfortable to wear. This shade stayed on well for three and a half hours on me and was hydrating over time.

When NARS launched their reformulation of the Lip Gloss range, the coverage was described as "sheer shine to bold luster," but as of February 2019, the brand simply describes the coverage as "sheer intensity." That's not really accurate, as the range does, actually, range from sheer to more opaque--it greatly depended on the shade. The formula is also supposed to be "smooth" and "nourishing." Some shades applied evenly, while others pulled into lip lines or looked streaky. The consistency was thinner, lightly tacky (with some additional tackiness developing over time), but it was comfortable and lightly hydrating over time. I wish the applicator pulled more product out per application, which would make it a bit easier to spread the product out overall.
There did not seem to be any taste or scent to the formula.

Bite
Bite is a soft, medium-dark coral with warm, rosy undertones and gold pearl. It had sheer to semi-sheer color coverage, which is how the formula is marketed (“sheer intensity”), but I wish it applied a bit more evenly as it seemed to look splotchy with more coverage and less product on my lips. There was a bit of product that gathered in my lip lines, but this particular shade seemed quite shiny so it was harder to see from a normal viewing distance. The consistency was smooth, non-sticky, and comfortable to wear over the three hours it lasted for. The formula felt moisturizing while worn.

Noise
Noise is a muted, medium-dark rusty red with warm undertones and a cream finish. The pigmentation was semi-opaque with a smooth, lightly creamy consistency that wasn’t sticky but spread well across my lips for mostly even coverage. There was a touch of product that sat in my lip lines, but it wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. It wore well for four hours and was moisturizing over time.

Wow I would definitely buy this if I needed more lipgloss! These are the kind of colors that look nice on me. Thanks for the review
I only really like 1 of the 3 (Noise) so not a good value for me.
This is a *maybe* for me? I do love Bite and Noise. Big Trouble, not so much. Even then, Bite and Noise seem quite generic, and don’t really represent the Punk culture at all. That said, I know that I would use up the 2 shades I’m loving just like I’m using up Fenty Gloss Bomb and Becca Beach Nectar.
This is a lovely trio of really popular shades and they look good for everyday wear.
Pretty colors, but a bit too milky
It’s a decent value at least
NARS Giza and Bad Education came to my mind immediately.
Noise looks fantastic!! The other two don’t interest me, though.
