NABLA Cosmetics Metropolitan Cutie Palette Review & Swatches
Metropolitan
NABLA Cosmetics Metropolitan Cutie Palette ($24.00 for 0.26 oz.) is a warm-toned color story that featured two matte shades, one top coat, and three more shimmery shades. The shade I had the most difficulty with was Anomalia, which was sheerer and had issues with fallout (both during application as well as during wear). The other shades performed more in line with expectations and had the pigmentation they were supposed to have, were blendable, and long-wearing.
As a heads up, Dissolution contained plastic glitter, while the shades Lord and Nothing Personal were pressed pigments and listed as “face” shades.

Lord
Lord is a deep, reddish-brown with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which built up easily to full coverage with less than half of a layer more. The texture was soft, smooth, and velvety with a touch of powderiness present in the pan but not during application. It applied evenly and blended out without difficulty. There was visible fading after eight and a half hours of wear.

Alaska
Alaska has a translucent base with flecks of pale iridescent shimmer and micro-sparkle that flashed pink and bluish-aqua. It was listed as a “top coat” with a “translucent base,” so it was as described. The texture felt almost cream-like as it seemed rather emollient to the touch, though it wasn’t actually wet, and had a very lightweight, thin consistency.
It applied best with fingertips or a flat, firm synthetic brush and pressed onto the lid. It blended out easily with very minimal fallout and had good dispersion of the shimmer/sparkle. It wore well for eight and a half hours with slight fallout over time.

Nothing Personal
Nothing Personal is a bright, neon pink-coral with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. The color coverage was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was soft, smooth, and blendable without being too powdery nor too firmly pressed into the pan. It stayed on well for nine hours before fading a bit, and there was a faint stain left behind after removal.

Love Resin
Love Resin is a slightly muted, medium-dark red with moderate, warm undertones with flecks of gold sparkle over a smooth, metallic sheen. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, almost cream-like formula that was dense and thicker but not heavy or difficult to pick up with a typical eyeshadow brush. The product applied evenly and smoothly to bare skin, and the edges blended out well. The color showed signs of fading after eight and a half hours of wear.

Anomalia
Anomalia is a medium copper with warm, orange undertones and a glittering finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that had to be built up with fingertips or a dampened brush for full coverage, though there was some fallout during that process. The texture was moderately dense, slightly firmer to work with, and it was easiest to pick up product using a firm, flat synthetic brush. It blended out decently but had some sparkle fallout from doing so. It wore decently for eight hours but had moderate fallout over time.

Dissolution
Dissolution has a light-medium, plummy-brown base with warmer, golden-taupe hsimmer paired with flecks of silver glitter throughout. The consistency was lightly creamy, dense, and thick without being heavy or difficult to pick up with a brush. It adhered evenly to bare skin with just a touch of fallout during application. The product had opaque color payoff that stayed on well for nine hours but had light fallout over time.
Note, this shade includes plastic glitter (it is listed as an “eye” shade).

It is definitely a beautiful palette, but not one that I absolutely need. I am able to dupe four or five of the shades in here. Basically, out of the three new palettes, this is the one I’m least likely to get.
But your eye look is goals!
A well put together little palette is spoilt by the inclusion of plastic glitter, in a shade that would have been just as lovely without it. And if the gold shade had been a soft shimmer, it probably would have rated better too. A beautiful eye look too Christine.
This palette is the one that drew me in the most, likely because of the plummy shades and that gorgeous Alaska topper. Wish the copper wasn’t so chunky. Thanks for this review Christine, always value your opinion. Gorgeous eye look as well, and that Alaska color on top of the black liner is stunning.
