Milani Rose Glow Stellar Lights Highlighter Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Rose Glow
Milani Rose Glow Stellar Lights Highlighter Palette ($13.00 for 0.42 oz.) contains a light, white gold, rich gold, and coppery orange with shiny to metallic finishes. As long as a bit of mess in the palette isn’t a deal-breaker, it’s decent. Where it shines (ha, ha) is in how blendable the powders were on my skin, but they could have been a bit more pigmented (per the brand’s description) and had smoother, less dry textures.

Pearl
Pearl is a soft, white gold with warm, yellow undertones and a metallic finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque, though it was soft and blendable, so it could be applied more sheerly if preferred. The texture was smooth without being overly powdery or dusty in the pan, and it was the easiest shade to use in the trio. It had a high-shine finish that accentuated the texture of my skin just slightly.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to be a "micro-milled, buildable powder that blend[s] seamlessly and leaves a luminous finish" that is also "richly pigmented," so based on their description, it seems that they're likely referring to the finish being buildable (more and more shimmery) while the color itself is more pigmented. The texture of the powders was generally soft, a little dry but not dusty or chalky, and they were blendable and left behind a finish from luminous to metallic, depending on the shade. Some of them felt more sparkly and looser while others felt smoother and had finer shimmer particles. The pigmentation ranged from medium to mostly opaque, and I didn't have any issues blending out any of the shades. The formula lasted for seven to eight hours on me.

Golden Quartz
Golden Quartz is a bright, orange-leaning gold with warm undertones and a metallic finish. It had good pigmentation with a smooth, slightly drier and looser consistency with a few larger, gold sparkles in it. The powder applied evenly to bare skin and blended out without issue. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me.

Rose Gold
Rose Gold is a medium orange with warm, brown undertones and a frosted finish. The texture was softer and looser, as the powder didn’t seem to be as firmly pressed or have as many binders in it, so it was easy to overload one’s brush with product or get a lot of excess product kicked up in the pan. The powder applied well to my cheekbones, and I had no trouble blending out. It had rich pigmentation and a luminous sheen that did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It lasted well for eight hours on me.

Looks like a nice drug store find!
This doesn’t wow me really – I find it looks far too shimmery and I could see how the different shades could easily mix in together. And I think a coral/peach shade would have made it better value.
I spotted these the other night at the Walmart up on Chapparel. Both palettes looked quite nice, like they would definitely be quite shimmery or metallic. Very nearly bought one, but gave myself a mental hand slap instead!
The gold and orange are probably too dark for me, but it looks like a nice DS highlighter palette.
I really love the look of this palette and I’m impressed with the pigmentation. However, I don’t think the two darker shades will work with my skintone! Boo.
