Melt Cosmetics SexFoil Liquid Highlighter ($39.00 for 1.01 fl. oz.) is a new liquid highlighter that is available in seven shades. They’re a face and body highlighter that can be worn alone all-over or targeted as a highlighter or mixed with foundation, so they are sheerer (though buildable) than they may appear in promotional images. They also state that some shades can be used as a liquid bronzer.

I agree. I am so over all these overtly sexualised product names. So uninspiring and as if we don’t have enough of it in the general media.

I’m surprised to find that I really like the look of Gold Ore? I’m pretty fair and gold highlights usually don’t appeal to me but this one looks like it might work. Also like the look of Stargazer. I’ve always been attracted to their powder highlight in Stargazer but I see such mixed reviews of their powder highlight formula that I never went for it.

If you’ve ever tried MAC’s extra dimension highlighter it’s pretty much the same thing…maybe less shiny/reflective? I love their powder highlights and use the ones that are too dark for my skin tone as blushes.

Rolls eyes.
It’s amazing how many products (not cosmetics) I’ve received press releases on, received samples of, or seen here (cosmetics) recently that have completely missed the mark on labelling and product names.

Yet another name issue. I can’t help but wonder if ‘foil’ is a noun or a verb. If you read it as a verb, the name is quite humorous. It seems the highlighter train will never leave the station.

I was excited about a liquid highlight from them until reading the ingredients list. And then realizing that even the lightest shade is way too dark for my skin (I own all their powder highlights and even Stargazer is a bit dark. Morning Star is light enough, but has a strong pink/peach/gold cast so it’s not an every day color).

Also…the name. I love Melt. Like so much. But Sexfoil? Da fuq where ya’ll smokin’ cuz that shit was legit.
