Maybelline Rebellious Raspberry (110) Color Elixir Lip Color
Maybelline Rebellious Raspberry (110) Color Elixir Lip Color ($8.99 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a vibrant, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had rich, nearly opaque color coverage that applied evenly and smoothly. The texture is thicker, mostly non-sticky, and was nicely hydrating while worn. On me, it wore well for four and a half hours. It does have a strong perfume-y scent and soap-like taste. Revlon HD Strawberry Topaz (535) (P, $8.99) is warmer. Dior Magique (479) (P, $35.00) is lighter. MAC Drawn in Chic (LE, $15.00) is lighter, warmer. Marc Jacobs Beauty Paint It (202) (P, $28.00) is lighter, warmer. Giorgio Armani #519 (P, $29.00) is darker, cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Maybelline Citrus Evolution (115) Color Elixir Lip Color ($8.99 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, peachy-orange with warm, yellow undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, but the color settled into lip lines from the get-go and only worsened as it wore. On me, it lasted for three hours and was moisturizing while worn. Chanel Exotique (12) (P, $34.00) is darker. Chanel Sensuel (11) (P, $34.00) is lighter. MAC Grand Pumpkin (LE, $15.00) is darker. NYX Cherry Cheesecake (P, $5.00) is darker. MAC Live It Up (LE, $15.00) is lighter. MAC Ray of Sunshine (P, $22.00) is lighter. MAC Overspiced (LE, $15.00) is lighter. Maybelline Nude Illusion (060) (P, $8.99) is pinker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Maybelline Passionate Peony (120) Color Elixir Lip Color ($8.99 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a light pink with subtle neutral-to-warm undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. When swatched and worn, it looked nothing like it did in the tube. It is slightly thick with a lot of milkiness, which made it pool into lip lines very noticeably. It had semi-opaque coverage, but it’s a gloss that would be better applied over a lip liner or lipstick to minimize it filling up lip lines. It lasted for three hours and was hydrating while worn. MAC Lots of Laughs (LE, $15.00) is darker. NARS Turkish Delight (P, $26.00) is darker. Maybelline Petal Plush (100) (P, $8.99) is darker, more shimmery. MAC Picture Pink (LE, $15.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Raspberry looks pretty, but I have Revlon Ultra HD Gloss in Strawberry Topaz already, and that one has better pigment and formula. Citrus and Peony look like total disasters – I can see every lip line. These 2 need to be recalled.
The Color Elixir formula doesn’t seem to work well with lighter shades!
I have these in a couple of shades and they’ve all been pretty amazing! Fuschia Flourish is amazing. It looks like the Raspberry one has the same coverage & texture. Glad to see it get an A:)
One out of three, lol!
I forget the names of the other ones that I have but they’re all like the Raspberry one! I think some of the newer ones like the other two here are duds tho:(
Holy cow! I was going to get HD ST but if this is slightly less warm, than this will be my choice. I wanted a vibrant pink coral for spring, preferably from the drugstore in case it didn’t work.
Hope you can find it! 🙂
Im so confused by passionate peony, i almost feel like you labeled the pictures wrong? The pics of it n the tube/ in the tub with the applicator off vs the swatches i dont see how that could possibly be the same product
Hey Jessica,
Did you check the review? I mentioned that and also stated that I confirmed/double-checked.
Oops sorry i just looked at the pictures! Thats crazy that its actually the same product.
It’s totally nuts! When I was cropping photos, I was like, “Wait…..” and checked and still did a double-take.
Rebel raspberry looks nice! I will surely be looking for that one. I appreciate you including lower cost items in your reviews. 🙂
*Rebellious 🙂
My pleasure! 🙂
Wow- I am really impressed by these. It can be hard to find a really great drugstore lip product, but these are impressive! I think I’d like to try the raspberry one!
Now, if only it didn’t have a taste, lol!
Wow, the last two colors look nothing like the product in the container once applied. My lips are wrinkly, so those are a no-go for me. Thanks for the review!
My pleasure, Leslie!
Right?? It’s bizarre.
Rebellious Raspberry is pretty but I can’t deal with the taste on these!
I hear ya 🙁
Love Rebellious Raspberry!
I love how smooth it is!
Not more wonky applicators! 😀 Seriously, the raspberry one is pretty, but the other two…Yuck.
LOL! Well, only one of them was defective this time… 33%!
I love the formula for the maybelline colour elixirs so I have high hopes for these. I am actually loving all three tones as they are warm based and right up my alley
xx
Awesome, Maiko! What are your favorite Color Elixirs?
I am definitely a huge fan of petal plush I think it is they perfect pink
I LOVE that Raspberry color and will definitely be picking it up. I don’t know what happened with Peony. You’re right that looks absolutely nothing like it does in the tube. I am not a fan of the milky pink color.
It’s crazy how different it looks! I can only imagine how many people will buy it from the way it looks in the tube and go, “WHAT!”
Rebellious Raspberry won me over with its name! Glad to see it got a good rating too.
Woohoo! 🙂
Rebellious Raspberry is super pretty! I really like the formula of these – its a little thick but I find it very comfortable, hydrating and it stays quite well too. The shades launched in Asia have a different nomenclature though.
I always wonder why they change the names! I would get it if maybe the names were scandalous… maybe… but Citrus Evolution is no good elsewhere?
I absolutely NEED Rebellious Raspberry…I really hope I can find this collection, I haven’t seen it anywhere yet!
Hope it shows up for you soon, Shana!
Rebellious raspberry!! :gasp:
The color of Citrus Evolution looks amazingly natural on you Christine!
Thanks, Aruna!
Oh I looooove Rebellious Raspberry! <3
It’s lovely!
Love the Maybelline Color Elixirs. I’ve one in Fuchsia and absolutely love the color and the texture.
Happy to hear it!
Passionate Peony would be a great color if it came out like it is in the container. And were more opaque than the swatch, with a better rating.
LOL! So basically if they completely reworked it 😉
Passionate Peony is such a nice color despite its problems…. I wish I could find a cruelty free dupe for it 🙁
Aww 🙁 Maybe try an indie!
Raspbery is such a juicy color!
It is!
I actually really like the sheer finish of citrus evolution. It seems really pretty for a sheer summery shade. Maybe I’m just weird?
I love this formula, it’s one of my favorite drug store lipglosses by far. I am wondering if you got an off tube of the Peony, though; I picked it up recently and the color on me is exactly as pictured in the tube — a beautiful spring pink, not even a hint of pastel or what your swatches look like! Such a huge difference, but the one I have is gorgeous!
