Maybelline Orchid Ecstasy (730) Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick ($7.49 for 0.14 oz.) is a fuchsia-magenta with cool, blue undertones and very fine iridescent shimmer with a luminous sheen. Tom Ford Beauty Pablo (LE, $32.00) is more opaque. Tom Ford Beauty Jack (LE, $32.00) is more matte, more muted. Tom Ford Beauty Justin (LE, $32.00) is more shimmery. NARS Michiyo (P, $32.00) is less glossy, less shimmery. MAC Boutique Pink (LE, $22.00) is lighter. MAC Lust Extract (LE, $17.00) is lighter. MAC Kelly Yum-Yum (LE, $16.00) is more matte. Sephora + Pantone Universe Radiant Rush (LE, $18.00) is brighter. MAC Bold Spring (P, $22.00) is lighter. NARS Full Frontal (LE, $26.00) is more muted. Urban Decay Anarchy (P, $22.00) is less magenta. MAC Midnight Mambo (LE, $22.00) is similar. Maybelline Electric Fuchsia (LE, $7.49) is less shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

At last, the missing (and final) shade of the new spring colors! It had semi-sheer coverage, which could have applied more evenly–it looks a little splotchy to me, where some areas have a more magenta coloring and others are less blue-based, more fuchsia. The consistency has a lot of slip, so there’s no tugging while applyling, but it slidews around and will show “lines” if you press your lips together. On me, this shade wore well for three and a half hours with a slight stain left behind, but it was hydrating over time.

Maybelline did so much better with the mattes collection they brought out. To go from that to this collection of duds is kinda disappointing.

Orchid Ecstasy looks like an inferior version of Hot Plum from the Vivids line! I wish Maybelline had copied the Vivids formula for these new lipsticks. I have Lilac Flush and really like it, but it’s so much more slippery than it needs to be.

Me, too. I just picked it up on clearance at Target for under $3 and I love it. It did not apply unevenly for me and has slip, but not too much.

Such a pretty color, and a dupe for much for expensive lipsticks! Too bad the formula isn’t better, but it actually looks very nice on your lips.

I like this color the best of the bunch, even if it’s a tad uneven. It might not be bad with a matching lipliner underneath, but I doubt I’d bother. I think I have similar colors.

Ugh! This color is just killin’ me here. Love it, but the formula not so much. I bought Rose Rush last night, tried it on today, it’s a lovely shade but something just didn’t feel quite right? Like I would absolutely need to wear lip balm underneath it? Perplexed

maybelline lipsticks are quite moisturizing! I wonder if they would melt in warmer climates like the Caribbean? I would hate to carry my lipsticks and end up with a mess! I saw these but I thought they just imitated the Vivids which I loved!
