Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer
Marc Jacobs Love Buzz (324) Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer ($28.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is described as a “rose-gold shimmer.” It’s a light-medium, warm-toned pink with fine, lighter gold shimmer. It had semi-sheer color payoff with more noticeable shimmer than color coverage (but nonetheless, a far cry from “maximum color”). It lasted for three and a half hours on me and was lightly moisturizing. Make Up For Ever 203P Golden Pink (P, $19.00) is less shimmery. Surratt Beauty Soigne (P, $32.00) is pinker. Revlon HD Petalite (540) (P, $8.99) is pinker. MAC Stoke the Flame (LE, $15.00) is similar. Marc Jacobs Beauty Pink Diamond (326) (DC, $28.00) seems to pretty much be the same (so I expect Love Buzz to be the replacement). NARS Orgasm (P, $26.00) is similar. MAC Flare for Fantasy (LE, $20.00) is warmer. MAC Dynasty at Dusk (P, $20.00) is warmer. Burberry Cameo Pink (P, $29.00) is pinker. Bobbi Brown Pink Gold (P, $24.00) is lighter. Marc Jacobs Some Girls (328) Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer ($28.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is described as a “punch-pink shimmer.” It’s a slightly muted, medium pink with warm undertones and a fine dusting of pink and gold shimmer. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque color coverage that went on evenly and smoothly. It wore well for four hours and was hydrating over time. Make Up For Ever 205P Pearly Rose (P, $19.00) is darker. Make Up For Ever 203P Golden Pink (P, $19.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Maybelline Pearlescent Peach (520) (P, $8.99) is brighter. NARS Stella (P, $26.00) is darker. MAC Be Nice (P, $22.00) is lighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty Heart Shaped (308) (DC, $28.00) is very similar. MAC Meteoric (LE, $20.00) is pinker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Marc Jacobs Uproar (336) Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer ($28.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is described as a “melon shimmer.” It’s a light-medium, peachy-orange with peach and pink shimmer. It had sheer coverage that primarily darkened and added warmth to my natural lip color, but I would expect this one to look different from person to person as the natural lip color will change this one a lot. The shimmer is fine and hardly noticeable on. It’s comfortable to wear during the three hours it lasts, and it was somewhat hydrating. Maybelline Enthralling Nude (500) (P, $8.99) is less shimmery. Charlotte Tilbury Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (L.S.D.) (LE, $22.00) is more shimmery. MAC Bared for You (LE, $15.00) is lighter. Divergent Supreme Ritual (LE) is less shimmery. MAC Nectarsweet (LE, $20.00) is pinker. YSL Nude Carat (No. 20) (P, $32.00) is similar. bareMinerals Dazzler (LE, $18.00) is similar. Dior No Angel (353) (P, $29.50) is pinker. Chanel Zephyr (377) (LE, $29.50) is darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

I think these are pretty and not bad with the wear time and at least these don’t settle in the lip lines. I may consider picking one or two of the “sparkly” shades up in this range. But, at this price, I would like to see at least a B+ rating, preferably an A. I would rather go ahead and spend a little more and splurge on a Suratt and have an A product than just a so-so once your in this price range for a gloss. I’m pretty disappointed in these along with the MUFE too. I don’t understand why MJ didn’t just fix the issues with the packaging instead of changing what wasn’t broken.
They’re not bad for your standard lipgloss, just not as pigmented as described (that’s the biggest ding). I preferred the old formula, though, and I liked that the range was separated into sheer/opaque.
I hear ya! At $28 for a gloss,it should be perfect. I could get this at the drugstore and spend $28 on a quality lipstick or get the product that meets my expectations. I’m very grateful to have found your blog. Before, I would have probably been so excited to buy these and be let down. Now, at least I can decide if I want to spend the $ on something which is not what I was hoping. I’ll probably wait until they hit stores and compare the sparly ones with the sparkly ones in UD ‘s line. I’ve not looked at those in real life yet either .So, I need to determine if it’s glitter vs shimmer…or I’ll pull swatches most likely because my Sephora will likely take forever to get these in and/ or I’ll get antsy,and/ or I will not want to go to the actual mall, lol.
The one thing I have noticed that is odd to me and I guess it’s a seasonal trend. But,why in the winter when our lips need the extra hydration, there was this crazy ultra matte craze. Now, when it’s the opposite needs, an opposite trend! Ugh.. I decided I’m just going to do whatever works for me at the time.:)
They seem average enough… not really unique enough for the price, ya know?
Totally hear you! 🙂 I think the original full coverage Vinyl range was more impressive.
Some Girls is my favorite. That said, at this price point I’d expect more. I mean, they’re pretty. But I’d never pay almost 30 bucks for them.
I wish they delivered on the “maximum color” promised!
I like Love Buzz. In the swatch it looks almost like a duochrome.
It is pretty!
These are too sheer for me, but I think Love Buzz would be a nice topper for other lippies, since it has gold shimmer
I bet it would look pretty layered!
These are all so sheer and boring. And they looked so nice in the tube. Disappointing
They really lose their impact applied, I think.
Hmmm, these are awfully sheer. Too sheer, all things considered. I am liking some of the dupes for these though, like Revlon HD Petalite and MUFE Pearly Rose. Those seem to have more pigment to them. Because sometimes I just want a throw and go lippy, especially during summer!
They’re a far cry from “maximum color” and blah blah blah they’re being marketed as.
At least in the tube, these look almost metallic, which I seem to be seeing fairly often lately.
I thought a matte finish was the Next Thing for lips.
Which is it – matte or metallic?
I don’t care for matte lips, but I do love a bit of shimmer.
Maybe a bit of both! 🙂
Meh. They’re nothing special, and they seem awfully expensive for what they are, considering that each one has dupes that are a third of the price.
Like most products, you’ll definitely find dupes above and below the price point! 🙂 I wish these were more as described, though!
Beautiful in the tubes, meh on the lips…
Agreed!
: ( Too sheer for me
The last one is so sheer 🙁
Wish the orange was orangey-er
I wish it was more pigmented!
These may not stand up to the pigmentation claims of the line, but I love the rose goldiness of Love Buzz. That one’s definitely on my list!
Enjoy it, Lacey! 🙂
What is it with all these near clear glitter lip glosses? We are not teenagers people! I notice this with MAC as well.
I’d at least like brands to stop touting every new formula as ultra pigmented when they’re… not.
True, very true. I was very disappointed when I got NARS, I thought it would be super pigmented.
are these more or less sticky than mac glosses? been debating between love buzz and mac nymphette for awhile i really want a pink with gold microshimmer gloss
Definitely less tacky than Lipglass 🙂
Mostly this has convinced me that I do want the MUFE Golden Pink, lol.
Haha!
Christine, have you mentioned whether these are flavored/scented?
Yes, in the initial review I believe – they are mint scented.
Thanks! You just saved me $$$$$!
Very pretty, but so very sheer. I like to get a bit more colour, even with the shimmer or sparkle.
I really like MAC when it comes to glosses, so I’ll not get any of these. It feels nice to be able to say so as we finally have a MJ counter at Sephora here. I did a bit of shopping there, the products I got felt very nice to use. So now I have to pay more attention to all the MJ reviews, and that’s a pleasure not a chore 🙂
I wish they had split the range into sheer/opaque like they did before!
I like the color of Love Buzz but I just got the revlon dupe!
Phew!
do you think love buzz would be a dupe for chanel’s discontinued bonbon glossimer? I’ve been looking for a gloss like that for ages
I think it is somewhat similar!
