Marc Jacobs Beauty Have We Met? (108) Sheer Lip Gel ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “shimmering warm pink.” It’s a medium, rosy pink with warm, yellow undertones and gold shimmer. It had semi-sheer color payoff that delivered fairly even coverage. The more emollient consistency made it easy to apply and felt comfortable once on, though the wear was only three hours. The formula felt lightly hydrating to me, but some of the shimmer and color pulled into lip lines over time. MAC I’m In (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery. MAC Bare Hug (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery. Too Faced Metallic Tu-tu (P, $21.00) is darker. Bobbi Brown Ballerina Shimmer (12) (P, $26.00) is more shimmery. MAC Lip Blossom (P, $16.00) is brighter. Chanel Liaison (P, $34.00) is less shimmery, darker, less glossy. MAC Giddy (P, $16.00) is lighter. Charlotte Tilbury Las Salinas (P, $45.00) is lighter, glossier. Chanel Vera (420) (P, $36.00) is more shimmery, darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Eat Cake (150) Sheer Lip Gel ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “rosy nude.” It’s a muted, medium rosy brown with warm undertones and a creamy, lightly shiny finish. The consistency had some slip and a little more weight to it than with the previous shade. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that covered evenly with some color pulling into lip lines as it wore on for four hours. Surratt Beauty Perfectionniste (P, $34.00) is darker, cooler. Urban Decay Sheer Liar (P, $20.00) is more shimmery, darker, more muted. MAC Grande Dame (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, darker. Guerlain Avarice (P, $49.50) is darker, less glossy. Chanel Mademoiselle (434) (P, $36.00) is less shimmery, lighter. MAC Bare Hug (LE, $20.00) is darker, warmer, less glossy. MAC I’m In (LE, $20.00) is darker, warmer, less glossy. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Formula Summary: Marc Jacobs Beauty Sheer Lip Gel ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is supposed to be hydrating, smoothing, and have sheerer color payoff. The texture has a moderate amount of slip and feels “wet” applied, though it is thinner, so it doesn’t slide around as much as a thicker lipstick would. The wear time is three to four hours typically with a lightly hydrating formula. The lipstick has a sweet, floral scent, but it is very subtle, even when smelled directly from the tube.

Hi Christine, what’s on your cheeks? It looks amazingly summery and glowy! I can’t seem to find your usual “Other Makeup Worn” section.

I totally love both of these shades, but at $30 with only a B rating, I’m looking at their respective dupes. MAC Lip Blossom for Have We Met, and most likely UD Sheer Liar for Eat Cake. What’s funny though, is that the LE Maybelline lipstick I got a month or two ago, Strike A Rose, looks a whole lot like like Have We Met, but warmer, with more gold shimmer and very hydrating too!

Love these shades! May have to finally pick some MJ lip products, which I’ve been meaning to do for a while now. These look like the perfect shades for my skin tone.
