According to the brand, Air Blush is supposed to offer buildable coverage with a “luminous finish” that wears for “24-hours.” Each shade consists of a lighter and deeper shade, designed to be used together (each section of product is quite narrow, so it’s not feasible to use a blush or highlighting brush to get a single color). In general, I found the lighter color to have more shimmer/luminosity and acted as the “highlighting” shade within the palette, even though some variations are such that both shades are more blush-like in color and depth. Please note: It’s pretty hard to test a cheek product for 24-hours, since inevitably, most of it will end up on my sheets if I go to sleep, and I can’t tell you if or when I’ve ever pulled an all-nighter on purpose. To that end, I am rating by considering how it looked and what (if any) break down of product occurred between 14 and 18 hours of wear and then extrapolating to determine a “final” wear-time.

Lines & Last Night had medium, buildable coverage that had a soft, airy consistency that wasn’t powdery, but it was very smooth, silky, and blendable on the skin. The blush applied beautifully and was easy to work with without emphasizing pores or the skin’s natural texture. Despite obsessively checking (more so than usual!) for signs of wear and tear, it was still going strong after 16 hours of wear, and even after 18 hours (at the last check-in), it seemed like it appeared a little less smooth near the inner area of my cheeks (closest to my nose).

Worth noting, during July, 25% of sales of Air Blush will be donated to amfAR when purchased through Marc Jacobs Beauty. (I wouldn’t use it as an excuse to purchase something you’re not interested in but would consider purchasing directly vs. through another retailer if you were planning to buy. I have ordered direct from MJB a few times, and they have always packed well and shipped efficiently–no complaints!)

I’m really surprised the darker shade didn’t come off deeper. For me, this is a good thing! I think darker skin tones could still wear it as well. Really beautiful color and finish!

This is pretty, but not for me. As cool as the stripes look in the pan, I think it would drive me nuts; I’m sure I’d want to try to use the shades separately sometimes, and, while it might be possible, it seems like it would be a really fiddly thing to do.

Wow, both colors are gorgeous! Especially the highlighter shade, wish they sold that separately. I already have MAC Spring Flock (and a backup), so I’m covered, but looking forward to the other colors in this collection, which are more unique to my stash

Spendy for a blush, but that one looks perfect for me. I’m in the market for a powder option, so considering… Looks beautiful on you.

I was thinking about getting this one but I’m afraid it might pull a little orange on me. I’ll wait until I can swatch these before ordering another. Also, MJ stopped including the little bag and brush? (Not that I needed either, but I still enjoyed receiving them.)

Now this is binge worthy…it looks fabulous on you. Thank goodness it’s perm, so I can hold off cuz this no buy is about to be back on.

I bought a MJ eyeshadow palette when the makeup brand first launched at Sephora. It’s been sitting in my drawer unused for years. The other night I put makeup on & I was hellbent on making my UD Naked work & of course it didn’t *SMH* so I grabbed for the MJ palette. I was shocked. I loved the way the shadows applied how effotlessly I was able to throw a damn good looking EOTD (for me it’s more of an EOTYear). All the planets, sun, moon & stars aligned for me that night. I was actually able to get out of bed, do my hair & makeup, dress in real clothes & leave the house not for medical reasons! Nor did we get 10 minutes away & me say I need to go home. It’s been over an entire year that I’ve been able to do that. I have been paying for it ever since, but it was great. I had a great few hours celebrating a very belated birthday gift from the hubs.

Thanks for the review. Have a good weekend.

Aaaahhh this is GORGEOUS!!! I JUST ordered one of these, albeit a different shade, last night after reading your first review of these blushes!!! I ordered Flesh & Fantasy (I think that was the name; I don’t like these names. Some of these brands ALWAYS with the sexual names! Nars, UD, and now MJB. Oh can’t forget TF Better Than Sex mascara. Ugh. I’m far from a prude but I just personally find them to be a turn-off, no pun intended lol!) but anyway I hope the more nude colored blush I ordered is as good as this beauty!!! I may have to grab this one too! I’m so excited about this new amazing formula!!!! Is this the longest wearing blush you’ve ever tested Christine??

kjh Avatar

This formula is a big win. But, so far they would look like borrowed-that-blush on me. Kind of liking test driving the Prius. Asked how I liked it, I said ‘Great car, but it’s like going to the prom in someone else’s dress.’ So far, MJ’s current shades are just not me. Maybe later. But they do appeal.

So pretty! I purchased Kink & Kisses (should recieve it soon) so I’m not sure if I’ll need this one too, but it really is a gorgeous color and looks amazing on you. I’m so glad to see these blushes are fairing so well, even though most people didn’t like the original MJ blush range I actually have several and do like them, so I think with the staying power of these I’m going to love them!

BonnieBBon Avatar

Oh my word that is a gorgeous blush!! That shade is a no for my coloring but I wish it wasn’t. It sure is stunning on you though.

Eliz Avatar

So pretty! And, 16 hours of wear without major fading is impressive. I wonder if the more subtle shades (flesh & fantasy) will hold up just as well. Fingers crossed because I could really use a blush that I can put on early in the morning and forget about until I go to bed. I’m also glad to hear that it’s a nice texture with excellent color payoff. I know I’m in the minority, but I actually love MJs Shameless Bold Blushes in the shades I own (Naughty, Outspoken, and Reckless), but they are definitely not perfect and don’t last 16 hours. Thanks for the review, Christine. I can’t wait for the others to decide which one of these needs to be mine 🙂
