Makeup Geek Electrify Highlighter Review, Photos, Swatches
Electrify
Makeup Geek Electrify Highlighter ($20.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a bright, very lite white with a reflective, golden sheen. This shade had one of the stronger white bases, so it was one that I think is going to be better for very fair skin tones or layered over a bolder blush/bronzer when used on other skin tones to avoid the white base lightening the skin. It seemed to have less of a shine compared to other shades, too, but I’d still describe it as a moderate highlighter.
According to Makeup Geek, the formula is supposed to be “super-smooth” and “incredibly pigmented.” The pigmentation was mostly opaque, while the texture was soft, finely-milled, and easily blended on the skin, but it had a little more powderiness to it compared to other shades in the range. I liked this one applied with a fan or less dense brush, which I felt helped it apply better and look less powdery on the skin. The color wore nicely as a highlighter for eight hours before it started to fade a bit.

According to Makeup Geek, the formula is supposed to be “super-smooth” and “incredibly pigmented.” The majority of the range is beautifully done with smooth, slightly denser textures that are blendable and easy to work with. They have good pigmentation, though some shades are more buildable than "incredibly pigmented." Most shades lasted between eight and nine hours on me.

Hear that? That’s the sound of my heart RACING.
I have thay yellow toned sephora brand highlight, and I completely finished it and repurchased.
Im in love with this colour oh my goodness!!!! I have a brand new yellow gold sephora brand highlight, but this is so beautiful… UGH.
LOL!
Hmm…looks a lot like my Nars Albatross dupe, e.l.f. Gotta Glow. Like super close. Although I’d have to say that I can get away with Gotta Glow because once blended out, the whitish base isn’t all that obvious even on my medium olive skintone. I’ll stick with Gotta Glow!
It is very much in that vein! I would say this has more shine overall, and it is smoother to me than Albatross.
Not sure if I can pull off the white base (maybe during winter) but I do like the gold sheen on this one!
With a fan brush, the white base is barely noticeable, IMO! 🙂
You can tell that the white base is sheer which is what I love about Aura pigments in general.
This also reminds me of MUG’s Voltage eyeshadow.
This one looks like it has great potential as an eyeshadow topper. Does MUG say anything about whether or not any of these are eye-safe?
I don’t think they mention if they are/aren’t!
Oh wow this is stunning!! I was surprised at how “yellow” it seemed in the swatch but it’s really growing on me!!
It has a really strong shift to yellow 🙂
Very pretty, but I am sure we have lots of this shade in our stash.
I bet you do!
Hmmmyeah, not too crazy about the white base.
Pretty! Might be too yellow for me!
I could see that!
