Make Up For Ever Lilac (500) & Dark Purple (600) Artist Acrylips Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Lilac (500)
Make Up For Ever Lilac (500) Artist Acrylip ($24.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark purple with warm, pink undertones and a creamy finish. It had rich, opaque color coverage achieved with little product, and I’d say that semi-opaque coverage was within reach with just the barest dab of product (which also looked more semi-matte and stain-like).
It’s a liquid lipstick formula that is supposed to have “buildable color intensity and shine” with a “non-sticky, non-drying” formula that includes a slanted, flocked applicator and a squeeze-tube format. I don’t know that I would really describe the formula as buildable; I would say that you can apply the tiniest amount and get less coverage, though it would still be medium-to-semi-opaque and have less shine. For me, it seemed that more product yielded glossier coverage with slightly more pigmentation. Lilac had a consistency that was smooth, lightweight, non-sticky, and spread easily across the lips. It wore well for six and a half hours on the lips and left behind a strong stain. The formula felt non-drying.

Dark Purple (600)
Make Up For Ever Dark Purple (600) Artist Acrylip ($24.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a blackened purple with warmer undertones and a cream finish with moderate glossiness. It was intensely pigmented; even when I applied the barest amount to the lips, I was just able to get a warmer, redder version that still covered my lips entirely (it had more depth and blackness when applied with a “normal” amount of product). The texture was smooth, a little creamy without being heavy or too slippery, and was easy to work with. I didn’t experience any feathering or bleeding color over the six hours it lasted, and it was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Nice to see a dark purple score well!
Finally!
I *love* the Dark Purple, and am so happy that it performs well, as dark purples often don’t! Now, if only they would make a similar one that leaned cooler and had some blue shimmer in it… that would be absolutely perfect! I hope they make a silvery grey one, too…
I’ll be curious to see if they ever expand this range!
It’s kinda frightening how many listed dupes I own of BOTH shades, haha! I really love my purples and reds, I’m tellin’ ya.
Yet, I *still* may get Lilac! Even though I have CP Grind, UD Bittersweet and Maybelline Lavender Voltage….yeah, purple addiction is real. ?
lol! You love purple? NO WAY!
Lilac (500) is one of those pink purple shades that I’m always drawn to, and Dark Purple (600) is a great vamp. I’m glad they got good reviews.
I love brighter shades like Lilac but do not find I reach for them on my own accord, lol!
Ooh, both of these colors are gorgeous! I am really impressed with Dark Purple- it’s always a tiny celebration when a dark purple lipstick doesn’t feather.
They are pretty!
That dark purple looks so good! I can’t wait for your review of the orange one! 😀
I’m so glad it performed well!
I NEED Dark Purple!!! It’s such a me colour ahaha!!
I LOVE Lilac, but I would feel shy wearing it on my less than bright white teeth!!!
Hope you can try Dark Purple sometime, Shannon!
OHHHH #600 is soooo gorgeous!! It’s not a colour I’m normally drawn to but I can’t help how much of a standout this shade is!
600 seems to be the favorite, lol!
Oh you are rocking that purple!
Dark Purple is awesome! I have Cyber, but I think this looks better as it’s glossier. If these makes it here I will absolutely buy Dark Purple. Lilac is so pretty, but I think I have mor dupes or at least almost dupes for it.
OHHHH, the dark purple might be worth the risk of drying…
Fabulous dark purple !!! I really want it…but what about ingredients Christine ?
Can you add here its full ingredient list please ?
Sophie
Do they transfer, and if so do they blot well?
They are a glossy lip, not a matte lipstick, so they aren’t transfer-proof.
