Make Up For Ever #310 HD Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Make Up For Ever #310 HD Blush
Make Up For Ever #310 HD Blush ($26.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “rosewood.” It’s a medium, muted rosy pink with a soft, satiny sheen. It is slightly warm-toned, but it doesn’t turn coral or look reddish. Tarte Fearless (P, $26.00) is brighter, powder. theBalm Houndstooth (P, $22.00) is slightly more plum, powder. NYX Peach (P, $5.00) is brighter, powder. NYX Apricot (P, $15.00) is warmer, powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
I continue to be impressed by the new HD Blush formula, and I’m just so pleased that the shades have performed consistently well. It’s always frustrating when a formula is inconsistent, as you never know whether a new shade will be a hit or miss, but with this range, every shade has been quite good. #310 is no exception! It had excellent, rich color payoff that can be as bold or as subtle as you’d like. The formula itself is lightly creamy but sets and dries down to a powder-like texture after twenty to thirty seconds, but what’s nice is that the powder-like texture is blendable like you’d expect a powder blush to be. It’s just so easy to apply, blend, and then it wears well–a solid nine hours with this particular shade.

This looks really dark and intimidating in the pan, but it’s absolutely lovely! It looks perfect on you.
Thank you, Jenn!
I looked at all these blushes “in store” (didn’t actually swatch or try any of them, though) and didn’t find a colour that called out to me enough to swatch on my hand (could be the crummy Sephora lighting but still….) I may need to go back “bare faced” (scary prospect) and try these on my face, though, since the formula is so excellent going by all you’ve said. But what grabbed me in this review is the gorgeousness of that Sephora lipstick. I’ll certainly need to look for that next time!
Not a one grabbed your attention?! Impressive 😉 They do seem to be more interesting applied than in the pans – almost kind of muted in the compact.
Very pretty, I like it…and even an A+ grade!
Happy you liked it!
The shade looks scary and too stark in the pan but has come off really well on you 🙂
By the way, what type of brush do you use for deeper pigmented blushes?
I used MAC’s 159!
So close to a perfect score! Absolutely beautiful product!
It is a lovely formula!
Stunning! Brown eyeliner made your eyes really stand out. You should wear it more often.
Thanks for the suggestion!
They look greener against the brown eyeliner! 🙂
Oh this is such a classic pink blush! Reminds me of Bobbi Brown’s blushed rose pot rouge!
I’ll have to check that out!
Wow, that looks so very pretty! I really enjoy using cream blushes. Looks adorable on you. I don’t have any MUFE so maybe this could be my first item…
You have to try the formula when you can, Andrea!
If i would like to purchase both Fearless and MUFE’s 310 which one would be the best for a NC15 complexion?
#310 would totally work, and it’s a WAY better formula. (I’m assuming Fearless by Tarte.)
This cheek colour pairs beautifully with your lip! I haven’t tried the formula yet–such a killah year for blush products–so I must place one of these on my Sephora wishlist.
Totally worth a try, but I hear you – SO many blushes and not just shades but new formulas!
It looks surprisingly pink in the swatch. I thought it would be more berry, considering how it looks in the pan. I like surprises. 😀
Yay!!
These blushes have become my favorites so fast. I almost use nothing else anymore. They go on great, last, and I love that they’re small and compact and can be applied with fingers (although I prefer a stippling brush) for travel or days I need to touch up to go out after work (so much smaller than a Nars multiple!). I have three colors and want more! I’ll have to check this one out – it’s so pretty!
ps. I wonder if MUFE will come out with shimmery versions at some point. That would mean I basically don’t need any other blush ever! (not that that will stop me)
I just re-read that and it sounds like a paid ad! Haha.
Yay, yay, and yay! I’m so glad you love these as much as I do 😀 It’s a really fantastic formula.
I love this shade! I love these sort of rosy tones in the fall, so I still have a bit of time since summer is first beginning.
It’s definitely very fall-friendly!
With higher end blushes being so expensive, may I ask, what are your favorite brands for color payoff and longevity? I have a few MAC blushes, I just recently got into the whole blush thing lol. Thanks!
Hi Lyss!
Are you looking for powder or cream?
For powder blush, my favorite of all-time is Tom Ford’s, but that’s, you know, $$$! Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes are nice if you like a subtle blusher, and you won’t need all the shades in that range by any means. Illamasqua makes nice matte blushes. For cream blushes, I like Chanel’s, Make Up For Ever’s, and Illamasqua’s Velvet.
I just bought this during the last Sephora 15% VIB sale! So glad it got an A+ & your recommendation! I do love the shade & it really lasts all day, even on my oily skin type.
What brush did you use to apply here? I always find your cream blush is on point!
Hi Meghan!
I used MAC’s 159 🙂
Great thank you! 😀
Christine, Is Mac 159 your favorite to apply cream blushes? Is there one by Hakuhodo (or any other brand) that you like as well? I seem to find the Hakuhodo to be a bit softer/higher quality for the price than Mac’s. I’m looking to find a nice ‘do it all’ brush for my cream blushes.
Also, do you have any plans to review the Wayne Goss collection of brushes?
It’s usually what I apply, since I like a blend of synthetic/natural or all synthetic for creams 🙂 H
Sorry, I don’t have any of Wayne Goss’ brushes!
When I saw the first shot I thought nope, not my color, too deep, but then swatched and on your skin it looks really great and actually exactly like the kind of color I would love!
Ooh, sounds like you have to check it out!
Absolutely gorgeous on you Christine 🙂
i regret not picking these on sale , but nevertheless i need to pick one of these to try just for the ratings they are getting 🙂
cant thank you enough for UD Revolution , BUXOM full bodied , NARS Satin lip pencil luxmbrg. , Givenchy le rougesss , GA lip maestro , GA rouge D armani , Guerlain rouge g… picked all of them based on your reviews and ratings and no regrets at allllll
every time i use one of these i have more respect for you , your passion and your hard work .
These are just few things am mentioning rest you know my vanity GLOWS and GROWS with Temptalia 🙂
and pls imagine me saying this in loudddd loud loud voice 🙂
not that loud but happy and smiling face XOXO
There’s always next time! 🙂
So glad you’re loving a lot of your new goodies, Rashmi! xoxo
I really like that, reminds me of a blush I had in the 90’s pre rosacea!
Glad you had a chance to wear it in the 90s at least 😀
A lovely everyday flush!! sometimes i find colours that come out during the warmer months are a tad too warm or shimmery (i know this isn’t necessarily a summer item). You are just showing us fantastic products and shades lately! Oh, stupid tiny budget lol!
There are always so many products coming out – it’s hard to prioritize and try a few without breaking the bank!
Looking at the pan, I was going to say it’s not my kind of colour, but swatched… yeah, it is.
Haha! 😉
I got this color back in February and got 225 for my friend and we both love them 🙂
Yay!!
I thought this was going to be a much darker, more fall kind of shade but it’s actually quite pretty for year round. The formula sounds wonderful too! I’ve been kind of lost on which shade I wanted to try but I think this may be it
You can definitely built it up/blend it less if you want slightly darker color as well!
Love your makeup here! 🙂
Thank ya, Jade!
This is a gorgeous color on you! Much less brown than I was expecting, I’ll have to check this one out next time I visit Sephora.
Thanks, Joyce!
Hi Christine! Can you tell me the name of the lipstick you’re wearing in the bottom photo? It’s beautiful and really suits you.
Here you go!
THE MAKEUP LOOK
On face: Guerlain Parure de Lumiere Foundation, Guerlain Les Voilettes Pressed Powder. On lips: Sephora Fuchsia Rouge Infusion.
What brush do you use to apply it, Christine?
Hi Amanda,
Usually MAC’s 159!
Ooh, this color is great!
I love its versatility!
Wow, you look absolutely stunning! This is such a gorgeous blush! <3
Aw, thanks, Shipra!
I have several shades from this collection and they definitely perform great as far as wear time, ease of application and pigmentation. I hope they release new shades in the future.
Me too! It’s a fab formula!
I am so in love with the formula and wear of these blushes! I had to limit myself to only 4 colors when at IMATS NY last month but I will definitely be getting more. I love how blendable they are and how comfortable they feel on the skin. I opted for 315 over 310 but I will be adding that one to the collection too lol
The texture is AMAZING! Which of the four you bought is your fave?
It’s a toss up between #315 and #420, but I tend to reach for #420 most.
It applies lighter than I expected. What a healthy, fresh color it gives you, Christine!
You can definitely build/blend/sheer it out as desired so it doesn’t have to look quite as intense 🙂
A beautiful dramatic (but not over the top) blush! I have to admit, when I saw the promo stuff for these, this one kind of caught my eye. Its actually a little pinker than I expected in the swatch!
I hope you can try it sometime! 🙂
Jeeze!! You look amazing!!
Aw, thanks Shannon!
I love this formula as well. It isn’t as good as Chanel’s but there’s way more options. I have #210 and #410 and it looks like I am getting this one next! My wallet thanks you.
Chanel’s is a little better for me, too, though these are better priced and really are amazing (Chanel’s wears longer on me, but otherwise, I haven’t noticed any differences). So glad you’re loving #210 and 410!
I’ve been very happy with these as well – the colour looks deceiving in the pans but like you said, the formula is fantastic!
Which shade’s your favorite?
It looks so intimidating in pan but i loved how beautifully it comes up on cheeks… <3 <3
Very buildable/blendable!
Hi Christine! This looks amazing on you! I was wondering: What are you wearing on your lips? Thanks!
Here you go!
THE MAKEUP LOOK
On face: Guerlain Parure de Lumiere Foundation, Guerlain Les Voilettes Pressed Powder. On lips: Sephora Fuchsia Rouge Infusion.
Can you actually use this as a lip colour?
I’m sure you could try!
I’m wondering how this compares to MUFE Sculpting Blush #12, which I own and is described as a matte rosewood.
Wish I could help!
Hey Christine!-
Do you think it would work on very fair skin with neutral freckles and peachy pink undertones?
Yes, I think so!
