Bite Beauty Centifolia & Grandifolia Deconstructed Rose Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Bite Beauty Centifolia Deconstructed Rose Lipstick
Bite Beauty Deconstructed Rose Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a recently released set of four shades (two included in this post, two I’ll review shortly!) “inspired by the ever-changing color of a rose.” They’re creamy, light-medium in weight, richly pigmented, hydrating, and wear well. The formula is rose-scented, but I didn’t have any issues with taste. In all honesty, the formula didn’t really seem any different from the Luminous Creme lipstick, but an attempt to read through the ingredient list on this one (which is difficult to read on this packaging), while it is similar to the Luminous Creme, doesn’t appear to be exactly the same.
Bite Beauty Centifolia Deconstructed Rose Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “muted peach.” It’s a light-medium, muted peach-orange with warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had rich, full color coverage that went on evenly and smoothly without gathering into the vertical lines of the lip. This shade wore well for four hours, which is about average, and it was the shortest-wearing of the four shades. Sephora Collection Samba (LE, $12.50) is brighter, warmer. Too Faced Melted Coral (P, $21.00) is brighter, lighter. Tom Ford Beauty Sweet Spot (05) (LE, $49.00) is sheerer. Givenchy Brun Createur (103) (P, $36.00) is darker, rosier. Givenchy Croisiere Coral (310) (LE, $36.00) is slightly more matte, darker. MAC Style Surge (P, $22.00) is a touch darker. MAC Razzledazzler (LE, $16.00) is lighter, sheerer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Bite Beauty Grandifolia Deconstructed Rose Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “fiery red.” It’s a vibrant, orange-red with warm undertones and a luminous shine. The color payoff is intense–extremely rich and full coverage in a single pass. The color lasted for six hours and left behind a warm, reddish stain. Givenchy Carmin Escarpin (306) (P, $36.00) is similar. Dior Trafalgar (844) (P, $34.00) is more orange. MAC Dangerous (P, $16.00) is matte. Maybelline Infra-red (LE, $7.49) is very similar. Maybelline Neon Red (P, $7.49) is more orange. MAC Scarlet Ibis (LE, $16.00) is matte. Guerlain Genna (LE, $51.00) is a touch darker. Hourglass Raven (P, $28.00) is matte, brighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The first one. Gimme.
It would be beautiful on you for sure!
Maybe it’s my monitor but Centifolia looks very melon-y to me. I’m going to need to see this one in person before buying.
Are they at Sephora already?
I don’t live near a Sephora, so I don’t know if it’s carried in store – I pretty much buy 95% of stuff online! Sorry!
Hi Christine — How do you decide which products say “Temptalia Recommends?”
Hi Kelsey,
All the information is here: http://www.temptalia.com/review-disclosures-policies-and-the-glossover-rating-system
Hope that helps!
Oh yes Centifolia it is! so pretty!!
It is! 😀
Both of these looks great, but Grandifolia is especially stunning!
Glad you liked ’em!
Hi Christine!
I’m looking to get a new Bite lip product for summer. Which ones do you like best the lipsticks or the cashmere lip creams?
Are you looking for something glossy or matte? Glossy, these. Matte, the Cashmeres!
Wow these are beautiful! I want them both!
So many choices!
Bite Beauty Centifolia Deconstructed Rose Lipstick was so beautiful on you it almost matched your natural lip color, so lovely on your skintone too
Thank you, Kurohana!
I wish I had the coloring for Centifolia! It’s so pretty. Unfortunately I think it’s a bit too orange-y for me.
Aww! 🙁
Grandifolia is calling to me!
Loudly or whispering? 😉
I sadly have had to return my Bite lipsticks. They melt at a very low temperature and break. The MUA at Sephora said she stores her’s in the refrigerator, but I like to take in my purse. I live in a cold climate so I can’t imagine what would happen to these in Florida.
Do they just… shatter? Or do they break at the end of the tube?
They break off at the end of the tube and squish against the tube when applying. As lovely as they are, they just became a huge mess and needed to be returned. 🙁
I’ve definitely had lipsticks break on me, but I don’t think any of the Bite ones have that I can recall! 🙁
they just break off at the lipstick attachment. it’s especially a problem with their double sided ls that are very small. i usually don’t pull up my ls all the way up to prevent breakage when i apply them. but with double sided ones, they are small so you have to pull them all the way up.
so i won’t but buying anymore double sided ones. this, i might consider. i really do love the ls. but if i have to use a lip brush with a ls, then it never gets used. i am straight from the bullet kinda gal.
Good to know that the double-sided ones are problematic – I almost bought those!
I’ve heard of them doing both, but what I’ve seen is them melting into goo. It’s, unsurprisingly, a really serious problem with the ones they make for you in the store. I just don’t ever carry them out of the house in warm weather, which kind of limits the amount of use I can get from them. Whenever there’s a shade match with one of the lip pencils, I grab the pencil instead!
Might have to experiment with these and see how they hold up in a bag!
I’ve seen that issue mentioned by other bloggers, which is too bad. I noticed both lipsticks in Christine’s photos do look a bit ‘sweaty’. The colors are beautiful, though!
I had the same problem with 2 I bought at the big S on the same day. Violet pencil + Zivoli. I have 18 others that have been fine, though. Maybe they do a bum batch every once in a while. The S cashier was grossed out, but didn’t seem surprised, when I returned them. The testers had been fine. I had thought Sephora had stored them in too warm a place. Maybe I’ll put them in the small bedroom fridge, which stores only creams + L/S, etc. I had melt, but no break. You couldn’t put ’em on! Tres ucky!
Grandifolia is such a delicious looking shade! 🙂
It is juicy!
This post finally convinced me to pick up Sephora brand Samba lipstick. I wanted something a little brighter than Centifolia and Too Faced Melted Coral seems to be out of stock every time I go into Ulta! So I just ordered Samba online at Sephora with my Flash 2 day shipping. Can’t wait to try it!
Enjoy! Hope you love it, Sara!
Oh my, these are both so pretty! They look… delicious, like food-delicious!
Haha! And they market that it’s food-grade ingredients 😉
I can’t wait to see your swatches for Crimson- it’s been calling me, but it’s gonna have to be pretty gorgeous to justify the price tag.
It is, unfortunately… for your wallet.
I want the second one 🙂
Let me know if you end up trying it, Preeti!
Bite has it out for my wallet lol. Although I cannot pull the Centifolia shade, the latter is quite intriguing.
Haha!
I really like both but the first one screams my name! Unfortunately this brand isn’t available where I live so I’ll have to look into dupes. Thank you so much for the review Christine!
My pleasure, Ida!
Love these….on you and in general. I was passing them up but may now need to get a shade or two. Can’t wait to see your review on the other two shades!!! Which to get…?
I really like Damask and Crimson 🙂
Both are gorgeous!
Agreed!
Centifolia is GORGEOUS!!
It’s a lovely shade!
Beautiful colors! <3
Glad ya liked ’em!
Wow, is it normal that they sweat quite a bit? I almost never have that problem with lipsticks!
Centifolia is a DARLING shade though!
I’ve had it happen with a lot of different formulas/brands over the years!
I wonder if it’s because it’s warmer in Cali on average!
Oooooh, I love the second one 🙂
Yay!!
Centifolia has caught my eye, but I see Samba as a dupe which is on my wishlist… the brighter tone may work better for me. Maybe both .. evil laughter…
Haha! 😉 And then I’ll do a dupe comparison post and you’ll tell me you have ’em all! Then all will be right in the world 🙂
Centifolia is luscious! Want!
Isn’t it? So nice!
Gorgeous! Can’t wait for you to review the other two!
Hope you find one to fall in love with!
Oh wow these are just so gorgeous. Such a pretty finish, looks really moisturizing, and the color saturation is amazing
The finish is awesome!
I actually picked up Crimson today, just because I fell in love with the colour. Can’t wait to read your thoughts on that one, but shame on you for tempting me with other shades!
Crimson is lovely! 🙂
I love the pigmentation and smooth creaminess of these! (well, at least the way they look – I have yet to get a hold of any Bite stuff!). Centifolia is a little too milky for me, but the colour itself is pretty. Grandifloia is on fire! 😀
The consistency/texture/finish of these is exceptional!
Oh goodness, that certainly is a packaging fail for the ingredients list on the box. The colours look beautiful though! Does the rose scent linger for a while?
I don’t notice it myself once it’s on, but another reader found the scent really overwhelming and returned hers!
Hopefully, the nearby Sephora will have these in stock.
Also, I’m always super impressed with how you take your time to actually read and answer all of the comments/questions!
Comments are one of the best parts about blogging! 🙂
ahhmygoshhhh!! I am supposed to be on a no buy but Bite Beauty Centifolia Deconstructed Rose Lipstick looks wayyyyy too pretty to pass up even though I have similar colours already!
Aww, if you have a lot of similar shades, you can resist!
I loved both of these! Yay! <3
Yay!!
Centifolia is such a gorgeous shade.. but it sweats like just out of the GYM.. 😉
I think it went through some extreme temperatures since it flew and it was 100+ here!
WOW, the coverage on these is fantastic. I kinda want everything Bite makes!
They’re super pigmented!
Hi Christine,
is the texture/pigmentation/creaminess of these (and the Luminous creme lipsticks) similar to that of the YSL Rouge Voluptes?
they are my all time fave
No, Rouge Voluptes are heavier, creamier, and have a lot more slip!
What perfect summer colors!
Agreed!
Centifolia is so nice! A little light. I wonder if I can pull it off.
I bet you could!
Wow, I love Centifolia!
It would be really cool on you!
Grandifolia’s name is replaced with Centifolia in the review section
Fixed! Thank you!
Correct me if I’m wrong, these Bite lipsticks don’t have heaps of chemicals in them like other lipsticks, so their shelf life I am assuming would be shorter than the average lipstick shelf life. Is this correct? If so, do you know what the shelf life is?
I don’t remember off hand, but I think most brands put 6-12 months for lipsticks, even if they are/aren’t more natural.
These are beautiful on you! I want them all! I was wondering if you would happen to know how Grandifolia compared to Bite’s Zinfandel, though? I have that one. 🙂
Don’t think I have that one, unfortunately, T!
