MAC x The Blonds TheBlonds Magic Dust Powder Review & Swatches
TheBlonds
MAC TheBlonds The Blonds Magic Dust Powder ($41.00 for 0.63 oz.) is a light-medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a luminous sheen. The powder had a very smooth, almost velvety consistency, as it was firmer, denser, but not heavy or thick, so I didn’t have any issues picking up the product with softer brushes but there wasn’t any powderiness in the pan either. It had opaque color coverage that applied evenly to bare skin, blended out with ease, and didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for eight hours on me before I noticed slight fading. Also, the compact is enormous–0.63 oz.!–which is over double the average highlighter.

This remind me of a more golden Trace Gold (so I would use it more like a shimmery bronzer/blush than a highlight). 😆
Is the pan larger than the `regular` MAC face powder or just the quantity bigger? I wonder if it depotted will fit a MAC custom palette with the blush insert.
No, it’s massive.
I’m not gonna lie, this is one lovely highlighter in some rockstar packaging. And it earned an “A”! Thing is, how does one go about using up .63 oz of highlighter?
I have a minimal make-up collections and even with regular use of the MAC face powders (I get the 0.21 oz refills for my custom palette) it takes me ~2 years just to barely hit pan. I imagine that only a make-up artist could use this up. 😆 Or someone who uses it all over the face daily.
Or I’m just too light handed with my face products…
Very pretty powder. I still can’t get over how gorgeous that packaging is.
I caved and got this at nordys. Not a fan of the highlighter. Mac can make the best highlighters out there IMO but this isn’t one of them but it’s ok for gold. I needed a compact for my purse and this is gorgeous and large.
Love it!!
How would you say this would fare as an overall powder for the face?
It is quite pigmented, so you’d need a light hand and be the right depth.
This one sold out in under a day. Had i realised how huge this was, i may have been interested, and jumped on it when it first came out. As mac didn’t put a weight on the website, it was gone by the time i did. Oh well, money saved
