The formula is supposed to add “sheer luminosity” to the skin with a “creamy” texture that “blends easily.” The powder felt very flat and smooth, but there was a dryness that made it feel a little chalky to the touch–the curiosity was that it didn’t look dry or chalky when applied to the skin, but it was a noisy powder if I rubbed my finger against the surface (that’s unusual). It had semi-sheer, buildable coverage that yielded a soft sheen that didn’t emphasize pores or my skin’s natural texture. This particular shade added noticeable color to my skin, so those fairer or slightly darker may find this works as a highlighting blush/bronzer as well. On my normal-to-dry skin, the powder highlighter wore well for eight hours before fading.

Oooh, it’s pretty on you! I could stare at that swirl design all day long -it looks like a fiery planet. I might have dupes though, will swatch in store. And is that UD Vintage Pallor on your lips?
Thank you, Katherine!
The pattern is mesmerizing! I might buy it just for that 🙂
The shade is a no go but I hope to see more of this formula in the future. (Love the name of this shade. ;))
Here’s hoping! 🙂
Oh, I like! A lot! Which means that tomorrow when I go to the B&M store up the street, I will be setting foot into a wallet busting minefield. Yikes!
There’s this gorgeous looking Highly Illogical, the WNMHGB lipstick, BOP and To Boldly Go for eyes, Warp Speed or Khaaaannn lip glass….I’m getting scared!
Uh oh!!
I love this. I’ve been wearing it for the past three days. The color pulls a bronzy plum on my skintone (NC30/35 with gold/green undertones). This just makes my skin glow….and I LOVED the name.
So glad you are loving it, Cherie!
Looks like a very nice neutral blush tone that would work with so many eye looks.
I bet it would!
Looks stunning on you, Christine! The unusual formula seems a bit strange, but I’m still tempted to go have a look in-store because it’s just so pretty!
Thank you, Lys! I’ve had another MAC powder feel like this, I think… almost papery in a way, but since it looks fine on, it’s not a big deal, IMO!
Looks fantastic! It feels a little gimmicky and something like a drugstore brand would come out with! I’m digging the multi-tonal look of this powder!
It is interesting!
The noisiness is weird, but the color is absolutely stunning. It would make a pretty nude blush.
It is! I recall another MAC powder having a similar texture, I think, but it is not common for sure.
I love your lip! Its so unusual, what is it if you dont mind me asking, I didnt see it mentioned. *heart eyes*
So annoying! It’s in the code, but I missed a tag like an idiot so it didn’t show the lips portion. I’m so sorry, Kat! It should show now – it is Urban Decay Pallor.
Lol it’s ok, I figured when I saw the review and all the swatches I was early for the comments and stuff. Thank you!! That lipstick is def high on my holliday wishlist now. Its so different! Even if the formula is meh/so-so, the color is worth it imo.
This is a beautiful powder, wow. And as a lover of Mr. Spock from the beginning, I adore the name 🙂 NEED THIS.
Hope you can get one, Cathy!
I like that as a highlighting blush for darker tones!
Me too!
I bought this powder during a Black Friday sale and WOW. My mom wore this on her wedding, so I wanted to snag one for myself. It works perfectly with my complexion. It’s very confusing that they would describe the texture as creamy as it is definitely just a powder, and I agree that it looks lustrous and natural on the skin. The reddish tone in this really sets it apart and gives me a sunkissed-yet-vampy glow. Plus it’s Star Trek and is called Highly Illogical, *nerd swoon.*
