MAC x Robert Lee Morris Rhubarb Powder Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Rhubarb #2 Robert Lee Morris Powder Blush

Rhubarb #2

MAC Rhubarb #2 Robert Lee Morris Powder Blush ($39.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a deep, reddened copper with warm, orange undertones and a metallic sheen. It had rich color payoff with a soft, velvety consistency that almost effortless to use when it came to blending and diffusing the edges. The lack of powderiness made it easy to use a lighter hand or less-dense brush to get sheerer coverage and build up if desired. The finish was luminous without accentuating my skin’s natural texture. On me, it lasted for nine hours before fading noticeably. I wish MAC’s regular powder blush range used this formula–it’s so much more luxurious and easy to blend!

P.S. — These blushes are substantially large than MAC’s regular blushes (0.21 oz.), so the price per ounce difference looks more like this: $109.53/oz. (regular) compared to $111.43/oz (this one). That being said, powder blushes take forever to use up so I don’t think that more is necessarily more here for every person. The packaging is unique and more egg-shaped, but it may not be practical for everyone.

P.P.S. — This is NOT the same shade as the Rhubarb in MAC’s permanent line (hence the #2!).

Dilemma; I adore this shade, especially as having missed out on CP Bardot. But that is a mega ton of blush right there, and at almost $40, expensive too! I’m thinking of going up to MAC and swatching Hushed Tones next to this version of Rhubarb on my arm to see whether the more practical Hushed Tones would quell any lemmings for this.

I would have thought you would have been half way to pan on Bardot. It screams Nancy T to me, and i really thought you had hauled it. I really like the majority of this collection. And, btw, to ease your wallet, Bardot may initially have been LE, but it is still available. Just looked. This one is huge, and Bardot is a super dupe for it.

I’d rather just get Hushed Tone. It’s practically the same for a cheaper price. Sure you get less product, but I’ve never hit pan on a blush. Even the deluxe sample sized ones b/c a little bit of blush goes a very long way and it’s easy to go from natural flush to garish clown with blush.

This is stunning! Wow! When I look on the MAC website to purchase though it only lists a Rhubarb in this collection – should I assume that the Rhubarb (specific to this collection, not in the permanent line) is the same as this one here, even though it doesn’t say Rhubarb #2?

Such a gorgeous color! I like this one more than Rhubarb (the first one) actually. I still have to decide if I want to go for this, I actually don’t mind the egg shape. I have quite a few angled brushes I use for blush, so it won’t be hard to get some color onto the blush.
