MAC x Jade Jagger Golden Shine Mineralize Eyeshadow Quad Review, Photos, Swatches
Golden Shine
MAC Golden Shine Mineralize Eyeshadow Quad ($46.00 for 0.07 oz.) contains warm-toned neutrals to the tune of beige, copper, rosy copper, and brown. They can come together and create a nice, cohesive look (assuming one likes a lot of shimmer), but they need to be used with a dampened brush to apply well.

Champagne
Champagne is a soft gold with warm, orange undertones and a pearly sheen. The consistency was drier and felt a little loose, particularly when used dry as the powder sheered out and did not stick well to bare skin (or even over primer). I felt like this shade had to be applied with a dampened brush to get even, smooth coverage out of it. It wore well for five hours on me when I applied it to dry to the lid and seven hours when applied with a dampened brush.

Golden
Golden is a rich, medium copper with warm, orange undertones and a metallic sheen. It had sheer coverage that lasted for five hours and was prone to fallout when applied with a dry brush. The pigmentation was opaque, while the texture was easier to work with as the powder gripped the lid better and did not produce tons of fallout. The eyesahdow lasted for five hours with some fallout when applied dry and longer at eight hours when applied with a dampened brush.

Rose
Rose is a medium-dark, rosy copper with warm undertones and a metallic finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that amplified to opaque coverage when applied with a dampened brush. The powder felt soft, smooth, and blended out nicely regardless of application method. This shade wore well for seven hours dry and eight hours when applied wet.

Brown
Brown is a deep, red-toned brown with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had medium color payoff in a single layer when applied dry, while the texture was dusty and a bit prone to sheering out. When I used a dampened brush to apply the eyeshadow to the lid, the color payoff increased to opaque and was easier to blend out without it sheering out. It lasted for six and a half hours when applied to the lid dry and almost eight hours when applied to the lid with a dampened brush.

Oh so disappointing! This was the quad I was looking forward to…
Aww 🙁
I like this color scheme, although it’s not for me. But, it definitely was curated nicely, right up to that grade of C and C-. What a shame.
Yeah, the color scheme was pretty!
I find this quad not quite as interesting as the one yesterday, as these shades are popular everywhere. Again it could have been really good, but MAC let it down by producing average shades.
Gorgeous eye look Christine.
Thank you, Genevieve!
Rose is a lovely shade. I don’t know if it’s enough for me to pick up a mediocre performing quad, so thank goodness for the dupes list.
Beautiful eye look, too bad product only scored a C+ . It’s a neutral palette, so MAC should’ve been able to knock this one out of the ballpark
It all looked promising until the overall rating. Might recreate from current stash and the dupes list.
I have not met a mineral shadow in any brand or formula that has not required a primer and a dampened brush. This includes loose powders too.
Love the colors in this palette but have them all in other brands.
The need to use a dampened brush would not be a problem for me as I often use dampened brushes. I find it gives me better control. After the shadow dries, I blend the colors.
You did wonders with this mediocre rated quad, I had higher hopes for it.
I’d take a single of the Rose!
This one is on it’s way to my house!
Isn’t it funny (perhaps sad?) that this eye look you did with this has had many of us fawning over it, yet it only garnered a C+? Oh well, I know I have similar shades around here. The only thing that drives me batty lately is having to sometimes move back and forth between a few different palettes to get a doppelganger look!
