MAC x Antonio Lopez 3 Lips/Fuchsia Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC x Antonio Lopez 3 Lips/Fuchsia Palette
MAC x Antonio Lopez 3 Lips/Fuchsia Palette ($27.50 for 0.13 oz.) contains three shades of lipstick; Candy Yum Yum and Violetta are both permanent shades, while Moxie is a repromote of an older, discontinued shade (that was also brought back last fall with By Request). The palette contains slightly more than an individual lipstick, which is 0.10 oz., so it’s not a value-packed palette, but you may like that you can get three shades for the price point (and individually, not that they’re sold that way, you couldn’t get two for this price). It will also depend on whether you’re a fan of lip palettes or not. The palette contains an itty, bitty lip brush and mirror.
Candy Yum Yum is described as a “matte neon pink [with a Matte finish].” It’s a bold, brightened, neon fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage, though it did seem slightly darker than the tube version. It’s the kind of shade that will stain and wears six to eight hours easily. It’s neither drying nor hydrating, and it is lightly creamy–enough not to tug, but it isn’t going anywhere any time soon. Urban Decay Anarchy is darker, less cool-toned. Maybelline Electric Fuchsia is slightly darker. MAC Dear Diary is not as bright. MAC Night Blooming is darker, more muted. OCC Yaoi is shimmery, darker. OCC Nylon is even brighter. See comparison swatches.
Moxie is described as a “mid-tone blue pink [with a Matte finish].” It’s a medium-dark, pinky-red with a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage, and this shade wears six to eight hours and stains. MAC Pink Poodle is lighter, pinker. Urban Decay Catfight is redder. Givenchy Fuchsia Irresistible is slightly cooler-toned. Guerlain Girly is glossier. Maybelline Vivid Rose is redder. MAC Impassioned is slightly lighter–less red. See comparison swatches.
Violetta is described as a “bright, clean violet purple [with an Amplified finish].” It’s a fuchsia-shimmered violet that leans more fuchsia than full-on purple. This is part of MAC’s permanent PRO range, which can be purchased by anyone online. It is semi-opaque with a frosted finish. It lasts four to six hours on me usually, and it is neither drying nor hydrating. Illamasqua ESP is purpler. Milani Violet Volt is more fuchsia. MAC Heroine is less shimmery. See comparison swatches.

Do you notice a difference in quality with the MAC lip palettes as there is with their eyeshadow palettes ?
Not really, but it’s such a different application method than what I normally do (from the tube vs. with a lip brush), it’s also hard to gauge if you’re using more or less product.
I LOVE Moxie on you (and in general!). I already have Pink Pigeon, so I wouldn’t get the wear out of Candy Yum Yum, and Violetta doesn’t interest me, but it’s good to see a solid palette. Checking out the dupes as we speak!!
Moxie is such a fun color. I keep trying to buy Maybelline’s Vivid Rose, but every time I try it’s sold out on drugstore.com. :X
It’s amazing! Its actually one of my faves. I hope you get a chance to try it.
I’m really tempted by this palette, but I already violetta so it’s not a good value for me. I wish the artwork was better. That would the perfect excuse to get it!
What an amazing palette! I’m a sucker for fuchsia and other vivid lipsticks, but amazingly I don’t own Candy Yum Yum or Violetta. Will have to grab this one for sure! Thanks for the swatches and review 🙂
Except for Moxie I wouldn’t wear these colors, so it’s not a trio I’d buy. That said, it does look pretty incredible, the three shades together like that in the pan 🙂
was this in a time capsule from the 80’s? haha the artwork is
kinda cool, still passing on everything. the holiday collections
will be massive…
I love this palette I can’t wait to get it, thank you very much for this review 😀
I love this palette! I hardly ever use lip palettes, though.
I’m lovin’ moxie. Too bad it’s not on its own.
Ooh so pretty! I already have two of the three lip colours though, so I’ll be passing on it. Makes no sense to get ones I already have. I just need to keep reminding myself!!
Well I already have two of the three shades and I hate lipsticks in palette form as a rule, but this is a really dazzling, 80s retro combination of colours. For those who don’t have any of the shades and who don’t mind lip palettes, I’d definitely recommend it.
This is the first palette in a long time that has made me wish that MAC was still cruelty-free. If so, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. It’s gorgeous.
now this palette was made for me ! 🙂 now just a broke girl coming up with money lol
ehh i just want the color moxie because all of the colors would look bad on me xD
Hey- I was just wondering how does mac chatterbox and loreal color riche intense crazy fuchsia (shade 370) compare to candy yum yum and moxie?
Chatterbox doesn’t at all, and I don’t have #370 by L’Oreal! 🙁
