MAC Warm & Cozy Collection: Lipglasses

At first glance, I thought I would be really in love with the lipglasses, but they weren’t as much my cup of tea as I had hoped. My favorite was definitely Light That Fire, while 2N was next.

  • Feeling Dreamy is a milky beige-pink with iridescent icy pink shimmer. It really has a tendency to settle into lip lines, so it wasn’t looking so dreamy on me (oh, pun!). It isn’t a particularly original shade – kind of typical of MAC.
  • 2N is a creamy fleshy peach-beige. It also has a milky look, so it also settled into lines like Feeling Dreamy, but it’s less noticeable from afar so it’s wearable on its own. I had 2N from the N Collection originally, but it looked different from this one (lighter, paler). I’m not sure if mine has changed over time or something, so I only photographed and swatched the one that released with this launch, for reference.
  • Light That Fire is a bright orange-based coral with lots of orange and gold shimmer. It’s very pigmented for a gloss, actually. It has a grittier texture than the other three glosses, because it does have a healthy dose of shimmer. It was like an orange version of Lychee Luxe. It’s a shade that appeals to me, but it’s not one I’m going to run out and buy a back-up of. I do like that I haven’t seen this shade too often (if at all–nothing comes to mind immediately) from MAC, though.
  • 3N is a brownish shade with orange–beige to keep it from being straight brown. It has lots of gold shimmer, and it looks very creamy on, despite the shimmer. This one looked the best on my lips — even coverage, softened edges, and didn’t settle into lines. It was also quite pigmented. When I compared 3N to my original 3N from the N Collection, it seemed about the same.

Light That Fire is a little like Pink Grapefruit, maybe? But lighter and brighter. I do really like it, but I have PG and like that one much, much more (it’s an all-time favorite for sure). I’m surprised, these colors are much brighter – not as muted and neutral – than I expected from this collection.

More orange, but kind of like it. (I consider Lychee Luxe and Pink Grapefruit to be very similar, though Lychee Luxe has a lil’ more orange to it as well!) It’s probably not as wearable as Pink Grapefruit is, though.

Light That Fire and 3N look like they will first lipglosses I’ll ever buy. I can’t stand lipgloss because I hate anything glittery on my lips unless its orange and since MAC never does anything more on the orangy side, these are in my favor.

I am sooo excited about this collection! I was in MAC today checking out Love Lace, but it just isn’t doing it for me. I did pick up Feline, but shkipped everything else and god Ravishing lipstick instead, which I love, love, love. I’m thinking 2N and Light that fire are right up my alley and would probably look pretty great with my new favorite lippie. ๐Ÿ™‚

Do you think Warm Me Up Lipstick and 2N lipglass would look good together? I’m completely new at puttin lipgloss over lipstick, and have no clue what I’m doing! Thanks and Merry Christmas Eve!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s what I like about MAC’s lipsticks and lipglasses. They’re a pleasure to wear because they’re light and I don’t ‘feel’ them on during the day not even the matte lipsticks and the slight vanilla smell is forgettable in a good way because it fades away; their smell certainly isn’t overpowering or lingering.

The only one that sort of catches my eye is 2N but the swatch looks sort of similar to Florabundance (which I already own), do you know if there is any difference between the two?

christine the Light That Fire lipglass is pretty on you, you know. I saw it and thought about buying it because I’ve been thinking about corals/oranges lately but I dunnmo. I feel like waiting for the Spring Color Forecast collection to come out with their corals/oranges until then!

I am trying to only stick to one lipglass, and that is 2N. But Feeling Dreamy looks so pretty! Can you tell me what can be swapped for that one in the perm line, if any? ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you!
