MAC Tropical Studio Nail Lacquer ($12.00 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a “black with rainbow multi-pearl [with a Glitter finish].” It has a sheer, black-tinted base with small-sized light orange and orange-copper glitter (no rainbow glitter–wondering if the description is wrong). After two coats, it was mostly opaque, as the formula spread evenly across the nail–didn’t have to play with the glittery bits to get them into place. It dried down to a slightly bumpy/textured finish, but a layer of top coat will smooth it out without having to apply multiple coats. Cult Nails Blaze (DC, $12.00) is smaller in size and is a top coat so it looks somewhat similar if it is layered over black. China Glaze Electrify (LE, $7.50) has larger glitter in a clear base.See comparison swatches / view dupes.

MAC Soiree Studio Nail Lacquer ($12.00 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a “sparkly light bronze gold [with a Pearl finish].” It’s a light-medium, warm-toned peachy beige with fine threads of metallic shimmer. It had opaque color coverage after two coats. The consistency was slightly thick but manageable without any major impact on application. It dried down to a lightly shiny finish. There were very slightly visible brush strokes, but only from certain angles. L’Oreal The Statement Piece (LE, $6.99) is lighter, yellower. Zoya Tomoko (P, $9.00) is lighter, yellower. MAC Shimmerfish (LE, $17.50) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

MAC Quick Million Studio Nail Lacquer ($12.00 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a “gold glitter with large particle pink glitter [with a Glitter finish].” It has fine white gold shimmer and pearl with larger chunks of pink glitter. Some of the pink glitter ends up looking gold due to the other shimmer in the base. The consistency was slightly thicker, but the glitters spread fairly well without a lot of work. If you don’t like textured or bumpy nails, though, this one is noticeably chunky when it dries down. Even with two layers of top coat, it still felt a bit textured. It had semi-opaque color coverage after two coats. I’m not sure of a dupe for this one, so I’d love to hear your suggestions!

I can think of two dupes for Quick Million – A-England She Walks in Beauty (from the Heavenly Quotes section) and one of the limited edition Maybelline Colour Show Brocades, Knitted Gold.

I was about to suggest A England’s “She Walks in Beauty” too!

It’s a fabulous color. All of A England’s polishes have a pretty fantastic formula to be honest. I just wish it was sold in stores.

I concur about A England. It’s easily my favourite brand of nail polish, with a formulation that is pretty much perfect, and She Walks in Beauty is superb.

They all look very pretty on ( and thanks for the swatches as always) but I haven’t seen anything similar to Mac tropical yet! The other two are very dupeable. These new colours supposedly have an amazing formulation – have you found that difference from the older Mac nailcolours?

I love how girly Quick Million looks in the bottle, too bad the pink barely shows up on the nail. Thanks to everyone for the dupe suggestions. I’m not familiar with A-England, does anyone know where you can buy it in the US? I may go for the Sephora Formula X, I did a google image search and everyone is right, both of those look like what I thought Quick Million would be. <3

If you look on the a-England website, there is a button (from memory, bottom left of home page, but I’m not 100% sure) which will tell you who their international distributors are (they are no longer able to ship directly out of the UK since Royal Mail changed the rules about shipping nail polish.) They are definitely worth looking into – fabulous formula and some lovely colours 🙂

I know a lot of people has said it before but Gilded Rose is the perfect dupe for Quick Million. Gilded Rose was LE but now is permanent. To me they look pretty much identical, today at a MAC counter I saw QM and I can asure you all, they are almost 100% the same.
