What beauty products would you stockpile if they were discontinued?

What beauty products would you stockpile if they were discontinued? Share!

Well, I’ve done so with a few in the past, like Guerlain Gems Lipstick, Chanel Dragon Rouge Allure Laque, and Guerlain Parure Gold! I have learned from all of those stockpiling episodes that I probably shouldn’t do so. There is almost always something interesting and new to try that I don’t miss those holy grails quite as much as I feared I would.

I’ve gotten a bit better about it. Juuuuust a little. I only get backups for things I REALLY love, and I know I’m more likely to use up.

Most recently, I’ve stockpiled a few Epically Epic lip balms because I do use them up rather quickly. They weren’t being discontinued, per se, but the owner of the company is taking an extended maternity leave soon. Moreover, she doesn’t plan to open the store full-time afterwards, only opening four times a year with limited, in stock only product selection.

Alla Avatar

I would definitely stockpile YSL’S Le Orange and Rose Carnation lipsticks (I fall in love with these colours again every time I put them on!) and the Diptique Nourishing Cleansing Balm (the only cleanser I’ve ever used that hasn’t left my skin feeling dried out). I think everything else I could probably stand to let go.

Mardi Avatar

I used to stockpile Clinique products so I wouldn’t have to worry about running out. Then I found out Clinique tests on animals and in my quest for cruelty free products I found a whole new world out there that my Clinique blinkers had stopped me seeing. So now I wouldn’t bother because there’s always something new to try.

Quinctia Avatar

I’ve got 4-5 tubes of my favorite eyeshadow primer, UD Greed, because it HAS been discontinued. There aren’t many other things I use on a daily basis that I’d feel as panicked about if they were discontinued. Maybe UD Deslick powder and Skin79 Hot Pink BB cream?

Veronica Avatar

I’ve only stockpiled one discontinued item – Revlon Super Lustrous lipgloss in Pink Whisper. In part because I’ve yet to find a dupe exactly like it and also because I dislike the new formulation. I happened to get lucky and find them at Big Lots a few months after that stocked out, so I grabbed them while I could. Still my favorite pink gloss to date. I’ll be sad when it’s gone!

stacey Avatar

There will never be another Chanel Dragon…not just the color….but the texture.
I miss all the discontinued products…too many to name.
But I miss the Pineapple Wash by Body Shop the most.
Body Shop then is not the Body Shop now.
The pineapple wash was so gentle and let the skin glow…..so good for acne scars.

Stacey Avatar

You got that right. That pineapple wash was introduced 20 years ago when the alpha hydroxy acid craze was the thing. It was sold at the Body Shop for about 10 years. And, yes all my favorite cosmetic items have disappear into the dust for the last 36 years…..been buying makeup for a very long time n I blame my high school classmates n my cousin’s past girlfriend for this. Memories…..

Mimi Avatar

Thanks for the laugh, Chloe! You should be a writer, if you aren’t one already. That was a very funny comment, and very descriptive. I can just imagine the person you described in my mind. Good on ya!

Amber Avatar

In the past i stockpiled lush…limited edition always makes a comeback though So i quit it.

Right now i would stockpile rituals spf spray

Ashley Avatar

Benefit Hoola, Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart, YSL Touche Eclat. I totally agree that for most items, I’ll discover new amazing items, but for these three, I don’t think I could ever live without them. YSL Touche Eclat is irreplaceable. Revlon Sweet Tart is the perfect everyday shade and formula. Benefit’s Hoola is the perfect bronzer for my fair skin, not too warm (which is rare!) and not too cool.

Jo Avatar

I have to say that half the fun is finding a replacement! Instead of just browsing makeup, I’m hunting for something! There aren’t too many things I don’t think I could replace but if I had known that Guerlain’s pressed Meteorites were discontinued, then I would have bought some back ups but Les Voilettes does just as good a job. Otherwise maybe UD primer potion and this 3 dot Bourjois liquid liner because it is so easy to get a thin line using it. Oh and Benefit’s Eyebright and Bourjois Rose D’Or blush but just an extra, not a whole stockpile and just until I found replacements of course!

A Name Avatar

Givenchy Le Rouge in Brun Creator. There are a lot of other products I love, but its the only one for me that feels like it would be really hard to find a replacement.

Oh, and maybe Urban Decay Smog eyeshadow, though I don’t know if I’d ever even hit pan.

KaseyCannuck Avatar

Olay Age Defying Daily Renewal Day Cream. There are plenty of other good BHA products to be found, and I have someone them, but this is what I always come back to. After a horrifying reaction to a product in high school, I get really nervous about trying anything new.
I’ve occasionally bought back-ups of makeup products that were being discontinued, and to date I’ve only started using one, a Revlon lip tint. I agree that there is always something new and interesting on the horizon, plus my colour preferences keep changing, so I might not love that back-up enough to even start using it.

Jade Avatar

I would definitely buy a tube or two of Garnier Oil Free BB Cream – I’ve pretty much used nothing else since I discovered it! I actually have had cause for concern recently, since I noticed they’ve launched a new PureActive BB cream, and I can’t see both products being permanent!!

tzwiggy Avatar

I have so many regrets for not stockpiling products in the past! I have tried to find dupes for MAC Flourishing and MAC Bisque forever and it’s just plain impossible! If anyone has any spare of those I will pay $50 each!

So, products that are not discontinued yet:
Jane Iredale PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation
NARS Smudgeproof
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
Chanel Inimitable Mascara
MAC Painterly Paint Pot
MAC Blanc Type eyeshadow
UD Laced eyeshadow
Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Medium Ash
Eminence Organics Naseberry Cranberry Bodywash
Jan Marini Bioglycolic Cleanser
Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub
L’Anza Healing Strength Neem Plant Silk Serum

^These are all worn/used every single day (except the scrub 2x week)!

There are of course other products that I would by backups of, but not stockpile, like Tom Ford Lovelust, NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder, theBalm All About Alex, MAC Wedge, MAC Vex, Rouge Bunny Rouge Abyssinian Catbird, Butter London Nail Foundation and Hardwear Topcoat just to mention a few.

Veronica Avatar

I would riot at the headquarters of NARS if they ever discontinue Smudgeproof. D: It’s the only eye primer I’ve tried that manages to conquer my oily, hooded eyelids and give my eyeshadow at least four extra hours of wear.

Rachel Lisa Avatar

I second that on the Radiant Creamy Concealer and Light Reflecting Powder. Nars used to be all about color, and then suddenly they up and came out with the best complexion products EVER.

Michelle Avatar

I agree Christine, I did the same with MAC Creamstick lip liners a couple of years ago and I still have a bunch I haven’t used although I still do like them. Can’t think of anything right now I would need to stock up on though.

Leonor Avatar

For me it’s Lancome’s Virtuose mascara. I’m afraid they’ll discontinue it because I’ve never heard anyone saying they love it but I do! And honestly, fete trying to find new mascara, that’s the best I’ve ever tried!

Badgerpaws Avatar

Loreal True Match in W1 foundation, Urban Decay Naked and Buck eyeshadows, YSL silky sensual lipstick in 13 peach passion, and Chocolate Soliel bronzer.

san Avatar

Nothing…I havent finished anything other than foundation..but I cant imagine stocking up on nars sheer glow..I dnt think they will ever discontinue it.If a HG item gets over..it would be fun to hunt for another..I love the hunt..the perfect item is just the reward.:)

Wednesday Avatar

Exactly, Christine. Don’t. Especially with colour products. In the few situations where I have, it has been money entirely wasted.

I am separating this from having multiples of some items I tend to go through quickly. Tinted Moisturizer, skin toner, mascara, aka some of my workhorses where I am still happy with the product and know I will use up and be on to the next. I never have more than 1 full and the part of one that is on the go in my stash at one time. I get a bit concerned about shelf life. If they were powdered products, probably not as concerned.

OT: Thank you Obagi for putting expiration dates on your skin care products. That will put a screw in some EvilBay sellers and retailers plans to off old product on the consumer.

pePear Avatar

I can’t live without this Laura Mercier Hydra primer so I will stock this product. from my experience you have no need to worry about lipstick or blushes discontinued because they will appear in some Limited Edition collection soon 🙁

Fashn Avatar

Right now I am actually stockpiling Lancôme’s Color Design sheer lipstick in Visionary which is a warm, pinkish brown color that was given with a lot of gift with purchase promo’s. I totally love this and discovered it was discontinued, so I found a site that was selling a pair of tubes for cheap, snatched those up and am looking to buy another one or two to have on hand. Makes me bonkers when I find a product I love and then it gets discontinued!

Jessica Avatar

I’m so glad this question came up. I love your answer! In the past, if something was limited edition and I loved it, I would buy two. One for use and one for backup. I stopped doing that because there’s always something new to try, whether it be new products or new lines, esp indie lines. I’ve found that I’m actually enjoying the indie lines better than the mainstream ones. Your blog has opened my eyes to a lot of new lines that I probably wouldn’t have tried on my own. Thank you very much!

Dee D Avatar

Hmm.. I did that recently with the Maybelline colorsensational lipglosses though because they were flying off the shelves like they were going out of style ( so I thought maybe they were and bought quite a few of those!). Did that with the Revlon lip butters too. Id also do that with ItCosmetics amazing concealer, EL Doublewear active foundation, EL DoubleWear concealer and my IDC Sunscreen lol.

zainab Avatar

Hourglass Immaculate Foundation and Mood Exposure, MAC Sunbasque, Lady Danger and Charismatic and Too Faced Shadow Insurance. The favourites basically.

Samantha Avatar

I have done this on several occasions with products such as MAC’s Magically Cooling Liquid Powder in Truth and Light, and some limited editions such as MAC Jumbo Penultimate (even though it generally comes back). I would stockpile most Origins products I use daily as I am addicted to my skincare regimen. Nars Copacabana and Laura Mercier Radiance primer would also be contenders.

tova Avatar

Maybe the Isadora Glossy Eyeliner (it’s my holy grail!). But I agree with you, there’s always new products just as good as a holy grail product to try 🙂

patsyann Avatar

This question has made me pull up short and think about my buying habits, past and present. I stockpile and I hoard. Not a good thing since I rarely use up a makeup item. Recently I found a little stash of Prescriptives lipsticks (yikes: that company has been gone a long long time now) and I looked at these 4 tubes of the same awful brown color and thought to myself:did I indeed ever think this was a good color for me? This is an example of my hoarding that leads nowhere except to the trash can. Currently, I allow myself only one in reserve product for my favorites. I have an extra Lorac Cococin Cream Compact (no silicones) and an extra Nars Lustre Blush and one or two lipsticks that I think I can’t live without (ever mindful of that Prescriptives stash) and an extra of my Southern Magnolia Minerals Well-Rested powder. I need to get an extra BB lipstick in Italian Rose as it absolutely is MLBB. And then there is my one big regret: why oh why did I not buy an extra SU lipstick in the only red that I have ever been able to wear: Mon Shu Red? It is discontinued and I hoard my last little stub of it. All things become discontinued eventually. That is the nature of the cosmetic business. The replacement products are too often not as good as the older ones. Hence, we stockpile as we have sadly learned this lesson.

KJH Avatar

I think Prescriptives is back + that Lauder sold it off….it’s no longer Lauder. I haven’t actually seen it, but have seen it online. No idea how it compares to the former incarnation. Did you know that Poppy King (Lipstick Queen) was once their color director?

LU Avatar

Benefit Velvet Eyeshadows, when I heard they were being discounted I actually bought 4 more shades. They are still available on benefits website for some reason though, so I think they weren’t discontinued after all. I’m still planning on buying one backup of Buckle Bunny, Bikini Line, and Where There’s Smoke.

Another Deb Avatar

I have two backups of discontinued products: Becca’s creme cheek color in Turkish Rose and Rock & Republic’s eyeshadow in Spy. I wear both regularly; they’re both very natural-looking, my-face-but-better products. My latest serious love is Anastasia’s Dipbrow Pomade in blonde. If it were discontinued without a suitable replacement, I’d stockpile it.

I love looking for new-to-me products — I keep meaning to check out Clarins’ blush cream, which comes in a Rosewood that looks possibly similar to Turkish Rose — but there’s something to be said for products you know and trust.

Amanda Avatar

The only thing I can think of would be seche vite as I haven’t found a topcoat near as good. As for colour products I’m always trying new things so it’s rare that I ever even finish a product entirely, nevermind repurchase it.

I suppose if they discontinued parure de lumiere or lingerie de peau it would suck, just because finding a good foundation for my skin was such a challenge in the first place I wouldn’t want to go through that again! Liquid products are hard to stockpile though, because they would expire much sooner than a powder. (Although I am guilty of using products way past expiration, if it looks/smells/feels good I’m sure it’s fine lol)

issy Avatar

I used to think the same about Seche Vite until I found ( well. I watched Tiffany’s video on dupes) something that does the same at a fraction of the price: “Out the Door” top coat

Rachel Lisa Avatar

I recently found a top coat that for me, kicks Seche Vite’s butt. It’s the Julep Freedom Polymer top coat, and it dries quickly and stays shiny forever. Also keeps my polish on through washing my hands and cleaning my makeup brushes 100x a day.

Maggie Avatar

You know, it really sucks that I never got to try to Dragon. I’m just a smidge lighter than you Christine so I always wondered if I would love it as much as you.

Hmmm…I dislike hunting for new products once I find things that work–my skin is just so fussy and I hate the anxiety of whether my skin will react with something. I wish I bought more NYX Round Lipsticks before they changed the formula–I’m allergic to the new version. I also need to hunt down the old Revlon Colorstay Polish Line–I’m not allergic to those either.

That said, off the top of my head I would get some backups of the following (bc cosmetics do have an expiration date): MUFE Full Cover Concealer, IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye, and Bobbi Brown Loose Powder in Pale Yellow, Tarte Smoulder Eyes Eyeliner in Black and L’Oreal Lash Out Butterfly Waterproof Mascara.

chezmadame Avatar

I currently still use Yardley of London Eyelighter and Yardley Slicker Lip Polish in Basic. I started stockpiling them in the 1970’s. Yes, they’re still fresh, and there is nothing out there remotely like them.

Amy Avatar

Anastasia Dipbrow in Blonde for sure. I don’t know if anything will ever be able to replace this. Color products will come and go. I’m tempted to say my HG foundation/primer, but I have few back ups in other brands that I could live with.

Chi Avatar

Hourglass veil mineral primer, hourglass immaculate foundation, smith’s minted rose lip balm,Estée Lauder lipstick 440 irresistible, Mac eyeshadow’s in cranberry and expensive pink, finally my 1 non makeup product that I do stockpile is alfaparf semi di Lino hair serum because it smells so great and I can’t live without it!

issy Avatar

With so many companies old and new, most things end up being duplicated or copied and sometimes even improved.

But for my peace of mind I would get a couple of the Guerlain Terracota khol in black and also my beloved Orly’s Rage. They would last whilst I explore further as I am sure there are alternatives.

( and maybe the old version of Sally Hansen’s Pacific Blue.. I have watched a hilarious youtube post of a girl, Nicole I think is her name, giving an epic rant about how SH have reformulated something that is almost perfect into something she calls a disaster and other descriptive words I cannot put in here)

Luiza Avatar

Although I love my makeup products I don’t think I have any irreplaceable item. Also since it takes anybody forever to finish up a makeup item, once you’re done with it you may want to look for something different, try out new things. Your taste might change a lot, so for me it’s not worth it to stock up. I have done it in the past and truly regret it because midway through my first Benefit Eyebright and Lemonaid I discovered I don’t really like them that much. I still have 2 eyebrights to go through and one and a half Lemonaids.

Luiza Avatar

I would maybe buy one or 2 extre ELF’s eyebrow kit in medium because it’s such and awesome product and great match for my eyebrows, but I wouldn’t go crazy if it were discontinued (since I live in Brazil and we don’t get ELF here, it’s almost like dealing with discontinued products anyways because I can’t get my hands on ELF products here).

Rachel Lisa Avatar

Nars Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Groenland. Finally a color that’s light enough AND neutral enough for my skin tone! Everything else either goes super yellow or pink on me when I’m very fair in the winter months.

Anna Maria Avatar

I wouldn’t get a huge stockpile because I’d want to be able to use them within a reasonable time. But off the top of my head I’d stock up on Glycolix Elite Physical Sunscreen, Eve Lom Cleanser and Giorgio Armani Face Fabric. I totally stockpiled T. LeClerc loose powder in Lilium when that color was discontinued. I contacted the company about it, and they told me it was discontinued. But then they called me a week or two later when they found the remaining tins in stock, and I bought them out in that shade. 🙂 I also stocked up on Christian Dior lipstick in Rose Perspective (I SO wish they still made that shade) and Chanel Rouge Allure in Prodigious when they were discontinued. And I bought a few extra bottles of one of Sofina’s sunscreens when it was discontinued.

JAN Avatar

I’m relatively new to Temptalia and love everything about it – especially swatches and dupes. Is the site meant especially for fellow bloggers and/or makeup artists? By the time I receive my daily Temptalia email there are already lots of comments to the question of the day so I’m wondering if the comment section is supposed to be for regular contributors only.

About the comments…..I spend lots of time researching Sephora, MUA, and Nordstrom to locate products mentioned. If the site is meant for interested observers like me it would help so very much if the brand and product type were mentioned along with what is, obviously, a known item for regulars. i.e., for today’s question I easily researched UD “mildew” eyeshadow and EL Double Wear foundation but I have no idea what the esteemed “Dragon” is. MUA gave me several possibilities but I’d have to guess, at best.

Just a suggestion. Thanks again for providing so much fun and information to this makeup junkie who obviously has much to learn.

Christine Avatar

The comment section is for everyone and anyone who wants to join the discussion 🙂

Chanel Dragon is a liquid lipstick that I raved about – http://www.temptalia.com/an-ode-to-chanel-dragon-rouge-allure-laque – I mentioned the formula name above in my answer! I hope the link helps!

Welcome!

Chloe Avatar

Holy Shi… I didn’t know what this “Dragon” was either, and now I wish I didn’t. It’s flippin’ flappin’ gorgeous! Like whoa. Whoa.

Susan Avatar

I am like you. I have stockpiled products that, at the time, I was sure I love eternally forever and ever forsaking all others. Alas, it was not meant to be as the formerly beloved products sat unopened and unused in a cabinet somewhere while I pursued more interesting items. I don’t stockpile anymore.

zFashionizta Avatar

My HG nude MAC eyeshadow was Limited Edition; the color and finish was so made for me that I had about 8 of them (I only have 2 left at this time and I am starting to panic). I have tested & purchased several nude eyeshadows and nothing comes close but I have hope that it will be in a future collection or that someone will make something just like it.
The items that I would stock pile are
•cover FX primer
•benefit they’re real mascara

zFashionizta Avatar

Modest Tone.

If you have one that you are willing to part with I have a few Limited Edition MAC NIB shadows to choose from for a swap.

Jan Avatar

The only thing I seriously stockpiled was a MAC lipstick. It was called, MYSELF. I still have 2. They’ve been under refrigeration for years! They still smell ok. I wouldn’t do it now. There are so many new things coming out. Why bother?

eliyna24 Avatar

I think I would go for a few holy grails products of mine that I just can’t live without them:
MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre
MAC Face and Body Foundation
Stila Sun Bronzer
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer
YSL Babydoll Mascara

Kristin Avatar

If mac disc any of the following i would buy mad bu. Woodwinked, Amber Lights, Honey lust, Mythology, Goldmine, Nylon, Coppering, Shroom, Rule, Da Bling, Expensive Pink, Saddle, Copperplate, Gorgeous Gold, Humid, Aquadisiac, Lucky Green, Juxt, Vanilla, Brule, All That Glitters, Dazzlelite, Sable, Bronze, Soft Brown, Retrospect, Rice Paper, Motif, Swish, Twinks, Sketch, Quarry. AHHHHH so many faves. those are my staple colors tho out of the hundreds of eyeshadows i own in all brands. Mac is my fave brand. Also the following lipsticks, Honeylove, Myth, Velvet Teddy, Midimauve, Cherish, Angel, Creme Cup, St Germaine, Snob, Pink Plaid, Pink Noveou, Violetta, Morange, all the oranges from all abour orange that are now perm. i would die. and C-Thru lipglass. its my atf i love it so much. ahhh i would die haha. Also if YSL was gonna quite making Rouge Volupte or Rouge Volupte Shines i would have to buy atleast one of each. Im trying to buy one of each as it is haha. at the price tho i can only get a few at a time. so far i have 6.

Tonnie Avatar

Mary Kay’s Classic Blonde wooden brow pencil. It is the perfect shade of golden blonde for me. Anything else is too dark, too ashy, or too “red”. I have used it for 20+ years! At one point I stocked up because they discontinued it, but I was lucky they reinstated it. I still order it 3 at a time in case they do that again.

I have hypo-thyroidism so the tails of my brows barely exist. Nice and bushy from inside to arch, but that’s where they end. I can always spot another hypo by their eyebrows. I have never over tweezed. I grew up idolizing Brooke Shields!

Raven Avatar

B&BW Sensual Amber……*cries because it was discontinued*

The other recent stockpile was ‘Saint’ by Kat von D. It was my signature scent. Managed to score a couple of bottles at Winners on a deep discount, so I’ll be good for a few years.

Rachael Avatar

My jordana mascara…I know it sounds crazy being such a cheap product BUT that’s why…it’s the only drugstore must have product I own and while I believe lancome for instance has some stiff competition it’s so much more expensive! I’ve put the 3$ mascara up to lots of more expensive ones and its never been actually beaten.

Georgia Avatar

I’ve bought backups and have a stockpile of L’Oreal’s Translucide loose powder and Revlon’s Rosy Nude Coloburst lipstick. Thank God for the Internet!

Lisa Avatar

Stickey nail base by creative. Christiian Dior Abricot Creme for nails. Chanel Volume Mascara, Alexandra de Markoff Disguise for Eyes eyeshadow base. I wouldn’t stock up lippies, foundations or blushes, although I have been guilty of doing all of these things in the past. The cosmetics industry has exploded in the last 30 years with crazy advances and I would be hard pressed not to move on if a favorite was discontinued.

Amara Avatar

there’s not much i would stock pile, i don’t think but probably my kat von d tattoo liner. just not a fan of her felt tip ones! so far i haven’t found a brush tip liner i like as much or more. i guess that’s about it! haha

calimom Avatar

I’ve done major stockpiling in the past and for the most part have regretted it. By the time I get to my stockpile I’ve usually moved on to other products. Also, at some point I will reach the end of my backups and be forced to find a replacement anyway, so it is only delaying the inevitable.

marie. Avatar

Revlon Berry Smoothie Lip Butter. It’s my MLBB product, which was nigh impossible to find since I’m extremely pale but have lips that naturally vary between baby pink and plum depending on the day.

I wish I’d stockpiled the Body Shop’s old honey lip balm formula / scent before I left Ireland, as I believe it’s changed now to become slightly floral instead of purely honey.. Actually, if any of your commenters (or you) could recommend a strongly-scented, true / pure honey balm I’d be eternally grateful. Burt’s Bees’ honey scent has this weird baby powdery note.

I also wish I’d stockpiled a Sephora own brand lipstick that I bought almost a decade ago: sheer formula, berry tint and slightly berry flavour.

doroffee Avatar

Catrice Camouflage Cream – unless some other drugstore brand comes out with something similar at the same price.
L’oreal jumbo balm stick in Jelly Ginger.

Astrild Avatar

I’ve stockpiled a few ítems in the past. Some of them remains unopened. Makeup is in constant evolution, so products I thought that would be undupable, were duped and improved in a few months.

Melissa R C Avatar

I would stockpile MAC Rebel lipstick, MAC Saddle e/s, butter London All Hail the Queen nail polish, and nails inc. Baker Street nail polish.

Helene Avatar

I don’t think I’d stockpile anything. There are a few things I would have liked to have a backup of, but there’s so many fun new things coming out, often, but not always, with better formulas.
I have a backup of an old Dior eyeshadow palette, well, there are three shades in it. I loved the palette so much, but I still haven’t finished the first one.

Doreen G. Avatar

I like trying different and new things!
But probably mally evercolor shadow stick.
Givenchy phenome mascara.
Hourglass ambiant trio powder!
Hakuhodo makeup brushes.
Perricone no concealer

Ammara Avatar

Probably just Bourjois’ Rouge Edition lipstick in 15 (an exact dupe for Cherry Glaze by Mac) because it’s my perfect red and I’m too lazy to find a replacement. I’ll just find a dupe for anything else I love because I already want better quality versions of a few products. I remember that when I got my first couple of lipsticks, I wanted to buy a backup of one shade and just store it in the freezer to withstand the test of time (and bacteria), but I’m so glad I didn’t!

Dani Avatar

Revlon Colorstay Base Coat, the absolute best base coat i have found. NOTHING keeps my nail polish on like that base coat. With all the typing, washing dishes, buckling carseats etc, it’s a challenge for my polish to stay on more than a day or two. But with this basecoat, I can go a week + with out any chipping! Sadly, Revlon discontinued it a few months ago. I never want to be without it, so I stocked up BIG TIME when they were on clearance.

oh god where to start..
UDPP (the “original” one, not the, in my opinion, inferior one they made after)

mac fluidline in blacktrack
mac pigments in vanilla, black black, dark soul, silver fog, bright fuchsia, basic red, pure white, primary yellow, tan, naked, true chartreuse, all girl (yes i know its already dc’d, i have 8), deep purple, 3d silver glitter, pink pearl pigment, platinum
MSF in light, light plus… ive got 5 stereo rose stockpiled, lightscapade (ive got 3 old ones and im happy to see it back on the mac site)
mac studiofix fluid in nw20, nw15.
mac eyeshadows in chrome yellow, ricepaper. sketch, vapor, trax, club, carbon, phloof, gesso, vibrant grape, vex, stars n rockets…

…chanel Bleu, chance
dior addict
….
i guess i have a lot of hoarding issues… 😉

Workhorses mostly:

– OPI Ridge Filler
– Seche Vite Top Coat
– Rimmel eye makeup remover: I have several backups on hand. This doesn’t bug my sensitive eyes, it’s effective, and leaves no film.
– Secret clear gel antiperspirant: I develop a rash with any other product on the planet I’m sure. The application is gentle and it does its job.
– Vera Wang Princess: I would pick up at least one backup due to shelf life. It’s my signature scent and I’m halfway through my 4th large bottle.

I have a backup of these but would probably pick up a couple more:
– Revlon lip butters in Gumdrop (a perfect lavender), Cupcake, and Cotton Candy (the prettiest pinks)

I have such a variety of shadows, face makeup, and lip products that I don’t feel the love or need for backups.

I echo you, Christine! It was hard for me to accept that reality but it is super true! But if anything, maybe Mac’s Brow gelcreme – only because I have finally mastered applying it!
