MAC To the Beach Collection — Bronze Body Oil Review, Photos, Swatches

To the Beach certainly gives one many options for faux sunkissed skin. New to MAC (and limited edition, of course) is To the Beach Bronze Body Oil. This is, essentially, a body oil that dries down quickly with lots of bronze and golden shimmer suspended in it. In the swatch, you’ll see how one pump comes out, but then you’ll see how it gets blended out. I didn’t find it really added color to my skin tone (the inside of my arm being around NC20), but it does add some nice shimmer. I also didn’t detect any scent to it – no chemical-smell, nor is it distinctly fragranced with vanilla or the like.

I think this is nice for legs, arms, and shoulders when you’re going out on the town for a night. The shimmer itself is very thin and smooth, not at all gritty (it’s not glitter, it’s definitely of the shimmer variety!). It’s subtle–indoors, in my office, I don’t really notice anything, but when I go outside, it’s lovely. I don’t think this is a must-have, period, but for those who love products like these, I think it’s a good one.  Drying time is fast, and there is no greasy residue or slickness left behind.

How much does it run for? and do you think the collection will come out online like may 25th or something? i love your posts by the way 🙂

yay! I am planning on being in Hawaii for a while at the end of the year. I think this will be perfect to smooth on my skin when I’m out basking in the sun. 🙂

Good news: no scent.. the Nars’ body oils are a bit too intense for me!
Bad news: no pigment? I was hoping this will have a bit of color, not just shimmer. I still might give it a go since I love body oils 🙂

Oh its a bit dissapointing! I wanted it to have a bit more color to it and for 22$ I don’t think its worth it if it doesn’t have a scent as well. Maybe the other shimmery thing that comes in a bottle will be better. (Haha sorry I forgot the name of it! oops!)

Lustre Drops 🙂

They’re kind of different products, since this one is an oil, and the other is totally not, but those don’t have a scent either!

I tried this on @ the store. It was terrible. Walmart has things that produce the same result. i wanted to love this. i planned on buying. a complete disapointment.

i tried this on today…a tiny drop seemed fine, but when i actually put a reasonable amount over the back of my hand, it gave a very yellow cast. it might be okay for some skintones however, but it’s worth swatching at the counter prior to purchase!!

I would get this just to stare at that bottle. DAMN. So pretty…

BTW, for those that were wondering, I wouldn’t really…I wish I had the money to get it for that reason 😉

I tried this on yesterday on my arm, it was very subtle, and it disappeared off my arm shortly after I applied it.There was nothing left of it. It had no scent which is a plus for some.

I purchased 3 of these since the MUA at my MAC said they only were shipped 5 of the Body Oil. I really like it so far. Its not sticky at all. Not too much shimmer.. Not too much tint. I apply it again after a few hours because it seems to fade fast.
