What’s the Perfect Cheek Look Like Anyway?

MAC The Perfect Cheek Blush ($22.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “neutral pink beige.” It’s a rosy pink with neutral undertones and a matte finish. MAC Have a Lovely Day is similar but in cream form. Illamasqua Ambition is similar in color but also has shimmer. MAC Pink Cult is grayer.  This is a repromote, though it’s been awhile.

The color is buildable, and it had good color payoff; you won’t have to pack it on if you have a deeper complexion. Because it is a medium color, it won’t look too dramatic on lighter skin tones even if used heavily.  It had a soft, finely-milled texture that was easy to blend and diffuse on the skin.  I used MAC’s 116 brush to apply to cheeks, and it had a lovely natural look–didn’t look too dry or the like, even though it has a matte finish. There’s no powderiness, so it tends to “melt” into the skin once applied.  I wore the original that came out previously earlier this week, and it wore for eight hours with very minor fading around the edges. I’ll be testing the latest iteration for wear today. If there are any discrepancies, I’ll be sure to update.

Keep in mind, online retailers like Nordstrom, Macy’s, Dillard’s, and Bloomingdale’s will also launch the collection online. These retailers typically launch close in time to the in-store release date (October 4th).

I ordered this and Legendary! I usually wait for your reviews to order, but I figured I should scoop them up before they were sold out! So glad I took a chance! Thanks for the reviews, Christine! 🙂

I am so happy that I ended up ordering this blush. It will be my first ever MAC blush, and I can’t wait for it to arrive 😀 Thank you so much for getting these reviews up so quickly! There extremely helpful!

If I did not already own Illamasqua Ambition, I would be seriously considering this blush. It’s always a treat when a company really nails a true neutral coloured eyeshadow/blush/whatever.. I can tell just looking at the swatches this would work really well on me. This hits a very positive note for me with this collection and I’m pleased to see a quality product.. a product that lives up to its name! Looks wonderful on you too, Christine 🙂

Is it too similar to Pink Cult? I have that and I thought I would like this blush from the collection but now I don’t know :/
Could you help me out Christine?

Oh sorry,I didn’t write it right. I meant that I really really love Pink Cult and Have a lovely day but because I have these I was wondering that would it make sense to buy this one. I like colors like this because it suits well my nw10ish skintone. If its not too similar then I’m gonna check it out 🙂
Thank you Christine! 🙂
By the way, what the hell happened to the prices???
If I convert it to us dollars this is 33$ here. Special collections were always this pricey?

Oh great, another blush that I NEED! 😛 I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pinky-nude blush lately and I think this one may be it (of course I’ll have to swatch and compare it to the other ones that made my final list…). It’s doesn’t contain a lot of brown tones like the others do (Nars Douceur) and I like that. Can’t wait til its available!

I got this and Legendary both yesterday, and this one was an instant favorite for me! I’m NC15, and this is really a fabulous, versatile color. I thought it looked a bit like Pink Cult, but they really are not that much alike; in fact, I ended up using Pink Cult to contour with my 109. Legendary, to me, looks a lot like Immortal Flower, but the pigmentation is better. I still prefer this one.

Happy Days — I had this the first time it was out and did not realize it was a limited edition. Was heartbroken when I went to get more and found it had disappeared – lol. Will but two this time!!

Hi Christine,

I ordered this today but I’m now wondering how close to Blushbaby it is. They looked similar based on your swatch.

Thanks so much for getting this up so quickly!

Hi Christine – Will this look natural on someone with a lighter skin tone? I’m somewhere around NC25 with balanced undertones. Would you recommend this one or Legendary?

This looks so pretty. This is one of the items from this collection I’m considering buying. I hope it doesn’t sell out too quickly in The Netherlands since I have to work tomorrow when the collection comes out and I want to see it before I buy it because it’s very hard to return cosmetics in my country.
