MAC Terre Eyeshadow Duo Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Terre Eyeshadow Duo

MAC Terre Eyeshadow Duo ($40.00 for 0.06 oz.) consists of a beige and brown, both with warmer undertones. They work well together, and both shades had good color payoff, soft textures, and wore for eight and a half hours before fading. I really liked the duo from a quality standpoint, and the packaging is very similar to the bronzer/blush–metal compact that feels substantial in the hand. I was disappointed to see that the compact contains a mere 0.06 oz. total, when a full-sized MAC eyeshadow is 0.05 oz. It’s a nice duo (though dupable for sure), but I wish it had at least the equivalent of two full-sized eyeshadows in it (the pans don’t seem that small!).

Terre (Left) is described as a “shimmering neutral beige [with a Veluxe Pearl finish].” It’s a light, golden beige with a frosted finish. It had excellent pigmentation with a soft, silky consistency that was easy to blend and apply to the skin. Urban Decay Last Sin (LE, $18.00) is very similar. Stila Kitten (P) is lighter. Chanel Tisse Vendome #2 (P) is lighter. Divergent Humble Sheen (LE) is similar. NARS All About Eve #1 (P, $24.00) is less shimmery. MAC Sweet Eyes (LE, $15.00) is lighter. MAC Pure Flash (LE, $21.00) is a cream product. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Terre (Right) is described as a “mid-tone warm brown [with a Satin finish].” It’s a medium-dark brown with a satin finish and warm, yellow undertones. It had fantastic color payoff, while the texture was soft, blendable, and easy to use. Tarte Fresh Brewed Coffee (LE) is darker. Make Up For Ever S632 Hazelnut (P, $21.00) is darker. Make Up For Ever S610 Almond (P, $21.00) is rosier. Make Up For Ever I634 Praline (P, $21.00) is more shimmery. MAC Plum Ember (LE, $15.00) is redder. LORAC Untamed (P) is darker. Dior Atlantique #5 (LE) is similar. Makeup Geek Hipster (P, $5.99) is less warm-toned. Too Faced Hazelnut (P, $16.00) is more shimmery. MAC Lie Low (P, $21.00) is darker. MAC Texture (P, $15.00) is darker. MAC Mulch (P, $15.00) is more shimmery. Burberry Pale Nude #1 (P, $29.00) is a smidgen lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

I’m glad they peform well for the money, and that the packaging is better than the lipglosses. Still too expensive for my blood, but at least the quality is up there for those buying.

I think they should’ve made the eyeshadows re-fillable and full-size, so you can use the beautiful compact for years to come and be able to justify the price. Plus, you would be able to pop in different eye color shadows

*Sigh* It’s official: this release holds nothing for me. You’ve reviewed the only items I even considered purchasing, and I just can’t bring myself to get excited. First the quality and size of the bronzer, then the not-so-chic packaging for Ultramarine lip products, now this only so-so shadow duo. I can’t find a single product I’m coveting.

To be honest my eyes were totally set on the bronzer, but for a few bucks less I can find the Exotique Croisiere bronzer that Givenchy released this summer. Have you SEEN that thing?! From the packaging to the heavily detailed imprint on the powder itself, every little aspect of it is magnificent; plus it’s a massive compact that holds 16 grams of product. Plus it’s Givenchy which, other than being my favorite designer label, has been the source of some of my most loved products.

Sorry for the long rant, you just helped me have an epiphany haha! Totally tracking down Croisiere now.

For Guerlain-esque pricing, that better be an A grade. It’s a pretty duo but a tad boring. You’d think they’d have gone all out with Gurung’s avant garde style.

Wow, how thin are these in the pan??? At 0.025 oz each it looks like if you use it twice you’ll hit the pan! Lol. Gorgeous though. I love neutrals. And having them in a luxe package has a draw for me. But hellllll nah with these pans! It seems kind of deceptive.
