MAC Styledriven: Pro Longwear Lipglasses (Part 2)
MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass ($18.50 for 0.06 oz.) is supposed to last up to six hours with lots of shine and color. There are nine shades released as part of the Styledriven collection, and all nine are permanent. This post features these four: Patience, Please (light pink-blue), Ready or Not! (neutral light coral with slight pearlized pigments), Show Me! (mid-tone neutral plum), and Whoops! (bright coral).
- Patience, Please is a pale pink-beige with a very creamy, milky look. It does settle a bit into lip lines (but not as bad as some recent lipglasses). It’s lighter than MAC Good Times. It’s more opaque than MAC The Wee Coquette but pinker than MAC Glamour for All.
- Ready or Not! is a light-medium peach with soft white micro-shimmer. I couldn’t get this shade to go on evenly (and again, this was just one pass of gloss!). It’s a little bit lighter and less pink compared to MAC Frankly Fresh but more orange than MAC 2N. It is very similar to MAC Illicit.
- Show Me! is a medium-dark peach-orange brown. I’m going to have to give a big clueless, “Huh?” because it’s not what I’d call a “neutral plum.” It applies fairly evenly and definitely has opaque color. Paul & Joe #4 is lighter. Korres #33 Nude is a bit similar but not as opaque. It also resembles MAC Temper Tantra.
- Whoops! is a coral-orange with a creamy finish. It’s mostly opaque and goes on fairly evenly but settles into lip lines a little. It’s like a shimmer-free version of MAC Geo Pink. MAC Exxhibitionist is brighter. MAC Viva Glam Cyndi is lighter and a touch pinker. Illamasqua Mistress is more intense.
Please see part one for a full review of the formula! 🙂

Show me and Whoops! look great on u!
Some of the colors are pretty and I like the idea of a long-wearing Lipglass, but I may just skip these altogether because they’re so high maintenance and pricey. Lip gloss should be a breeze to apply, not hard work.
Hmmm…I was really excited about these, but now? Not quite as much. The price is high, the amount you get is little, and the stickiness and unevenness doesn’t really make up for some of the prettier colors. I may take a look at these at a counter, but I don’t know that I want to pay for them when there are so many glosses out there and these colors aren’t particularly special.
agreed
I think these look absolutely gorgeous on the lips.
Show Me is like the perfect color for you
Oh, what a shame about the smearing. 🙁 I’ve been looking for a good lipgloss, since they tend to bleed easily on me. The colors are so pretty, too!
I really hate that MAC keeps releasing all these “milky” looking lip glosses lately. 🙁
too bad. i like some of the colors but it looks so gloopy.
Patience, Please? Whoops? A little too appropriate with the names there, judging from your review. 😀
show me looks really good on you, my fave of the bunch
OMG I love all of them
whoops is cooooool!!!!
It’s a shame the formula is so bad… Show Me seems like the best MLBB shade.
“Whoops!” looks a lot like “Strange Potion” (Surf Baby collection) to me. Probably “Whoops!” is a bit more luminescent.
I don’t really agree with your review, but I can see where you’re coming from. It is very sticky, it is long wearing, it does contain a tiny bit of product, and so on.
That said, I purchased Patience, Please a few months ago and I can’t stop wearing it because it’s amazing. But, I also thoroughly thought about WHY and HOW I was going to use this before I purchased it. I wanted something to “nude up” and/or “baby pink up” my lipsticks that was long lasting. You can of course apply it all over your lips like a normal lip gloss, like you have done, but I found that these apply better if you just dot the product on and pat it on your lips with your finger. In my opinion, these kinds of glosses shouldn’t be stand alone products unless you are using it very lightly like I do. With this color, I like to sometimes use the tiniest bit of translucent setting powder to semi-mattify it because I love the color of it so much. I know, I know, mattifying a gloss? So shoot me. I don’t have another color like this in my tiny collection and the gloss is sometimes too much for me.
Overall, I think it’s a GREAT layering product over a lipstick or light-hand use product. Some of the colors can stand alone, but I don’t recommend that. I really am not saying this to hate so please don’t misunderstand me. I feel like I’m going to get a lot of heat for this T_T, but I thought I’d just put out my positive opinion on it because I am in LOVE with this product and will be purchasing a few other colors as soon as I get my paycheck! Just TRY it on on at the counter and play around with it… but in the end, to each his own!
