MAC Starring You Swatches: Lipglasses, Spellbinder Shadows
Here are swatches of the remainder of the color portion of the MAC Starring You Collection, which includes swatches of the five lipglosses, one more highlighter, and single eyeshadows. You can view part one if you missed it!
I have Star Memoir Lipglass, and now I’m also wanting Counting Stars Lipglass, and also Stairs To The Stars eyeshadow.
Did we really need Swing on a Star and Stars Align? Is there anyone for whom one would “work” and the other not?
If I put them side-by-side on the eye, would the color difference register from three feet away?
They are pretty different – maybe refresh the page? I’m not sure why the swatch would duplicate itself. One is a purplish-gray and the other is much darker with green and gold flecks.
I had to look back at the names, because I thought you were talking about the lipglasses. Lol. The shadows look on my tablet as Christine described. But those sheer lipglasses look virtually indistinguishable to me. OUAT I bought 3-4 colors of similar sheers, and they were indistinguishable on, as well. Maybe too much lip showing…but, never again.
On my monitor, they’re very different colors! I see a medium pewter-y gray base/shimmer next to a forest green shimmer over a deep olive brown base.
Stars Align and Wishful Thinking look so pretty at first, but upon further inspection, those swatches look a bit sketchy.
I purchased Swing on a Star and it is absolutely gorgeous! The colors are so complex and it’s so wet looking. I can already tell it’s going to be my go to one-and-done for any upcoming holiday parties I can’t manage to get out of going!
The Spellbinder shadows look pretty good, especially the Stars to the Stars shade.
The “pigmented” glosses are much too patchy — wouldn’t work for my blotting approach.
So, not buying the lip with the atrocious name. That is an easy decision. I do love the shadows and have a couple from previous launches. They perform pretty well for me. Stairs to the Stars is very pretty and appears quite complex. I have to go to Spokane in a few days and will check it out then. Thank you for the swatches, Christine.
