I wanted to make sure to review some of the “key” products (at least, by my guess!) from the new MAC Starring You Collection, which is the brand’s big holiday launch, in case they sell out. I expect to receive press samples in the next few weeks, and I meant to order the other Opalescent Powder but somehow managed to fumble that, so I just have swatches of the six lipsticks, both cheek palettes, and one Opalescent Powder for you at this time!

Oof, those lipsticks don’t look good at all! Asterisk reminds me of On and On, the worst MAC lipstick I ever bought (it went Back-to-MAC after one wearing). I am so happy that nothing here is tempting me at all.

I love the Extra Dimension formula, but these colors wouldn’t be useful to me. The Medium Deep palette covers such a fine gradation of colors. It would have been nice if one of the shades was more of a blush than a highlight/bronzer.

The 2 darkest lipsticks will hopefully be mine, as I’m also getting the fuchsia Lipglass, Star Memoir to pop over Starstruck.
I love both cheek palettes, but I’m not 100% which one. The “Light” one worked far better than expected on MACah0lic, and her coloring is close to my own. However, it’s the Medium-Deep one that fills a gap. A really nice set of winter appropriate bronzers would be great, as UD Jawbone is a bit too rich for winter.

Pretty lackluster launch. The lipsticks are a no-go as they look terrible. I like Shooting Star but not enough to pick it up so this is going to be an easy pass for me. How I wish MAC would pay more attention, re-brand and reformulate some of their products. Being a more mature woman, I can remember when MAC launched at Nordstrom’s and how exciting it was. I remember there being lines out the door of the Nordstrom’s to sample products, get little mini makeovers and everything looked so lux. I still like the packaging except I would love to see them put a coloured ring in between the bullet cap and the base that was the shade of the lipstick inside. They have done this with some LE lipsticks but would love it in their permanent line. I just feel like each year, they are slipping further and further into nothing!!

I initially thought that Medium Deep cheek palette was an eyeshadow quad and was about to say how much I like the shades….
The Light cheek palette looks nice.
But the lipsticks are, well, not MAC’s best.

The lipstick bullets are so pretty, too bad their performance looks rather dismal on most.
I do love the star patterns and the packaging on the collection.

I’m disappointed in the med-deep cheek palette. All of the colors look similar shiny brown and one too light bronzer. Oh well I’m loving my Charlotte Tilbury Lovegasm and Natsha Denona’s Tan-bronze cheek palettes a lot! The lip sticks look okay. I’ll probably just buy a MAC holiday lip gloss set for my niece.

Jesus take the wheel cause I ordered both cheek palettes and got them both yesterday. When I saw how beautiful they both are, I ordered backups of both so I don’t mess up the starsπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
