Bikini Bottom

ColourPop Bikini Bottom Lux Lipstick ($7.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, peachy brown with subtle, warm undertones and a lightly glossy, cream finish. It had good color coverage in a single layer, though it was just shy of full coverage, especially around my inner lip area. The lipstick had a lightweight, creamy consistency that had enough slip to glide on without dragging but not enough to slide around during wear. There was a smidgen of product that sank into my deeper lip lines, and it only became noticeable in person towards the end of wear. It lasted nicely for four and a half hours and felt lightly moisturizing while worn.

The collection will be restocked December 6th.

Formula Overview

$10.00/0.12 oz. - $83.33 Per Ounce

The formula that is supposed to be a "creamy-matte" that "glides on like butter, doesn't feather or bleed, and lasts so long you'll forget you're even wearing it." The majority of the shades were quite pigmented with full color payoff in a single stroke with a few in the more semi-opaque coverage range.

The texture was, on average, smooth, lightly creamy, and not too thick or too thin, so there was no tugging during application but the color didn't feel slippery while worn, which made them easier to apply straight from the tube and low-maintenance on the lips.

They tend to dry and wear down to a soft matte finish within one to three hours of wear, and while they are very lightweight on, they hug the lips more as they become more matte (compared to initial feel). The wear time has been between four and six hours for most shades, and most shades were non-drying to lightly hydrating. They were vanilla-scented but had no discernible taste.

Mrs. Norris

ColourPop Mrs. Norris Lux Lipstick ($7.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium taupe-brown with neutral-to-warm undertones and a satin finish. It had excellent pigmentation that adhered well my lips in a fluid stroke. The texture was creamy without being too slippery nor too heavy on my lips, so it was comfortable to apply and to wear. The color applied evenly, and while in the close-up photo, there was a touch of emphasis of my deeper lip lines, I didn’t notice it in person (at a regular/normal viewing distance vs. magnified!). It stayed on well for four and a half hours and felt lightly hydrating over time.

The collection will be restocked December 6th.

These were the two shades I was considering, but they sold out…and seeing the swatches, I’m really glad I didn’t buy them. Judging by the dupes, Mrs. Norris would look awful on me, and Bikini Bottom wouldn’t add anything new to my collection. Except the cute little bats.

I’m so intrigued by Mrs. Norris but I’m pretty sure I’d look like a corpse in it. I also purchased one of the Huda lipsticks in Dirty Thirty and it reminds me a lot of it but there’s more purple in the Huda and it is really horrible on me. Maybe I just need to get used to seeing myself in these 90’s inspired colors.
