MAC Raizin Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC Raizin Blush
MAC Raizin Blush ($17.00 for 0.21 oz. pan-only) is described as a “golden reddish-brown.” It’s a slightly muted, medium-dark chocolate brown with warm, yellow undertones and a matte finish. MAC Swiss Chocolate (P, $24.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Makeup Geek Chivalry (P, $10.00) is cooler (90% similar). Bite Beauty Anise (P, $24.00) is glossier (90% similar). MAC Naturally Enhanced (LE, $34.00) is more muted, cooler (85% similar). NARS Melina (Contour) (PiP, ) is darker, cooler (85% similar). The Estee Edit Ember Glow (04) (P, $28.00) is cooler (85% similar). MAC Sweet As Cocoa (P, $24.00) is more shimmery (85% similar). Chanel Cheeky (79) (DC, $38.00) is lighter (80% similar). Anastasia Chocolate (LE, ) is lighter, cooler (80% similar). Anastasia Vegas (LE, ) is lighter (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
MAC’s Powder Blush formula is supposed to be easy to apply, long-wearing, and have “fantastic colour.” It’s hard to generalize for MAC’s blush formula, because it varies a lot from shade to shade, even within different types of finishes! Some of them are very good, others are so-so, and a few are complete misses. The more frosted/shimmery shades tend to have the softest and smoothest textures and are easier to apply and blend out on the skin, while more satin and matte shades can sometimes be powdery, firm, or stiff, which makes blending more challenging. The wear is typically between six and nine hours but closer to seven to eight hours on average. Raizin had rich color payoff with a fairly soft, blendable texture. It wasn’t the easiest blush to blend out from MAC, but it was a lot better than some of the other deeper-hued shades in the range. The finish retained most of the matte-like quality, but it didn’t look dry or powdery on my skin. The color wore well for eight and a half hours before fading.

My bestie has a deep skin tone and this looks stunning on her!
Awesome 😀
That blush looks amazing on you Christine! I have this blush as well and love it as a natural blush I checked out film noir and it scared me how plummy dark and hard to blend it was and couldn’t compare to sketch and swiss chocolate because the stores in my country havent received those colours in stores yet. Im around a nc50 at the moment.
It is funny how Raizin is so much easier to work with than Film Noir! Happy you enjoy this one, too, Fil!
Probably a tad too brown for me, but you wear it well.
Thanks a lot, Melissa!
Another one that appears much differently than I expected on your skin. This is very nice on you!
Thank you, Nicole!
Perfect shade for me!
Music to my ears!
I’m late to the Raizin party, as I recently picked this up. It’s been my go-to for an everyday blush since buying it! Gives my skin a nice, natural looking glow.
Love hearing that, Toni! So glad you were able to get one.
Wow, the pigment on this looks crazy! I like how MAC has options for deeper skin tones
They really do! It is nice to see.
This would make for such a glowy, natural looking bronzey-coral toned blush on me! And it looks really good on you too!
I think it’s getting to be time for me to buy an empty blush palette, because there seems to be quite a few MAC blushes I’m itching to get. This is definitely one of them!
Thank you, Nancy! 🙂
I think it’s a beautiful shade. Not one I could wear, but I think it would be killer on someone with warmer, darker skin.
Agreed! 🙂 It is lovely on, but I tend to reach for more mid-tone shades.
Pretty on you Christine. Too dark and too orange tinted for my colors
My favorite blush from MAC of ALL time! It is the perfect everyday shade for medium to deep skintones. I toggle between this and Black Radiance Toasted Almond.
I have this shade. Great eye transition shade as well.
My favorite blush
I love how MAC has blushes for all, or at least almost all, skintones. I am by far too pale for this, but I love how it looks on you and it must be a stellar blush for warm darker skintones.
I do love the colour and I want it as an eyeshadow! I probably have something much like it, lovely colour, and so pigmented.
Well done, MAC!
This is a hard pass for my skin tone!
I keep forgetting about this one for Fall. It’s so complimentary to the seasons colour palette.
This is my favorite blush. I am a woman of color, and it adds the perfect amount of warmth to my cheeks.
