MAC Rain of Flowers, Anti-Fashion, Girl Trouble Studio Studio Nail Lacquers
MAC Rain of Flowers Studio Nail Lacquer ($12.00 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a “deep violet with pink and blue pearl [with a Pearl finish].” It’s a deepened, subtly warm-toned blackened violet purple with brighter violet pearl and shimmer. It was mostly opaque after two coats, but there was a hint of nail line at times. The consistency is slightly thin, almost watery, but it wasn’t too difficult to work with. Zoya Belinda (P, $9.00) is lighter. NARS Fury (LE, $20.00) is a cream, warmer. L’Oreal The Mystic’s Fortune (LE) is is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / / view dupes.
MAC Anti-Fashion Studio Nail Lacquer ($12.00 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a ”
mid-tone dirty purple with pearl [with a Frost finish].” It’s a dusty, muted purple-taupe with fine, iridescent purple shimmer and warm undertones. It was mostly opaque after I applied two coats of polish. The formula on this shade was slightly thick, so be careful when applying as it had a tendency to pool along the edges. Chanel Charivari (603) (P, $27.00) is darker. NARS Manosque (LE, $20.00) is warmer. MAC Festive Finery (LE, $16.00) is darker, cooler-toned. China Glaze Below Deck (LE, $7.50) is a cream. Zoya Jana (P, $9.00) is lighter, cream. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
MAC Girl Trouble Studio Nail Lacquer ($12.00 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a “super glitter pink [with a Pearl finish].” It’s a slightly muted lavender with warmer, almost golden pearl/shimmer. It had semi-opaque pigmentation after two coats, while the consistency was slightly thin, but it dried down fairly quickly and didn’t streak or bubble. There were a few visible brush strokes, but most of them disappeared as it dried down. NARS Night Rider (LE, $20.00) has larger sparkle. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Oh, I really like the first one.
I like the color of that one a lot, too!
I wonder how close Anti-Fashion is to Chanel Paradoxal.
Paradoxal is purpler – less dusty? in a way and seems to have stronger shimmer.
I like the look of Trouble, but I usually avoid glittery polishes as they’re often difficult to remove!
It’s not as hard as some of the chunkier glitters, but it is more difficult than regular shimmer polishes!
I really like Girl Trouble. I don’t have anything like it.
It’s an interesting shade!
I like rain of flowers ,such a gorgeous color
It is!
Rain of Flowers and Girl Trouble are such amazing colours – do you get sent these products to review or do you buy them, I was wondering?
Hi Mia,
Everything is disclosed at the very top of the post!
Anti-Fashion is also along the lines of Chanel Paradoxal I’d say and also Barry M in 313 Dusky Mauve which was one of the first dupes for Paradoxal at the time.
Paradoxal is purpler – less dusty? in a way and seems to have stronger shimmer when I look at the two!
Yeah definitely, the shimmer definitely comes through more in the Chanel. I found it depended which swatches I looked at as well because of the lighting- the troubles shimmer can cause!! I guess I’d say go Chanel or the Barry M dupe if the shimmer is what draws you to it in the bottle because it comes across more on the nail in those.
Chanel managed to balance it well enough where you get visible, but not over-the-top, shimmer. Haven’t tried the Barry Me dupe, though!
wow….Anti Fashion is such a Chanel colour!
I guess that’s a good thing? lol!
it is! it seems so high street and upmarket…one of those “feels more expensive than it really is” products.
I expected Girl Trouble to be a bit more opaque. Oh well, still crossing my fingers for Rebel.
Hope it works out for you!
Are these new or repromotes?
MAC reformulated their entire range. Some shades are new, some are repromotes.
I miss the picture with flash so we can see the details of the shimmery 🙁
Thanks for the feedback!
Rain of Flowers and Girl Trouble are definitely going on my wish list!
Yay!!
Love the MAC Girl Trouble Studio Nail Lacquer color, just perfect!
With love,
The pink lemonade
It’s a neat color!
I like rain of flowers! (of course, LOL!).
I was actually really interested in seeing Girl Trouble, and I’m pleased that the finish is nice and smooth. It’s a very pretty shade, very ethereal…but it’s one of those ones that I lust after, then feel looks washed out and terrible on my skintone! So frustrating! 😛
It’s PURPLE! But of course! ;D
Ohhhh Girl Trouble reminds me of MACs pigment Kitschmas (which I LOVE) so this one is on the MAC polish list as well hahah
Oooh, yes! That is totally Kistchmas in polish form!
Anti-Fashion is so perfect for fall!
Very true!
I love Rain of Flowers of all the MAC nail polishes it’s the one I must have. I think it’s gorgeous!
I also like the other two. Anti-Fashion doesn’t look like anything I have and Girl Trouble is a very sweet lilac shimmer. So many beautiful nail polishes coming now. The stress of chosing! Apart from the one must have, of course 🙂
Thankfully they’re permanent, so at least you have time to think about it 😀
Girl trouble reminds me of OPI Princesses Rule, although I’m sure they aren’t the same.
I haven’t seen that one, but it could be!
