Makeup Geek Smitten Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Makeup Geek Smitten Blush
Makeup Geek Smitten Blush ($9.99 for 0.15 oz. pan; $12.99 for 0.15 oz. compact) is described as a “pale creamy apricot.” It’s a brightened, liight-medium peachy orange with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. Surratt Beauty Cantaloup (P, $32.00) is yellower. Dior Amber (002) (LE, $56.00) is yellower. MAC Blazing Haute (LE, $25.00) is darker, yellower. MAC Peaceful (LE, $24.00) is similar. Sisley Paris Mango (3) (P, $85.00) is lighter. MAC Cream Soda (LE, $21.00) is lighter, pinker. Illamasqua Lover (P, $26.00) is a touch darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
What’s nice about this particular shade of peach-orange is that it doesn’t lean too yellow or too red, so it is easier to wear, regardless of cool or warm undertones. The finish is mostly matte but does produce a more natural finish once blended and buffed into the skin. The texture was soft, silky, and smooth, while it had good color payoff. On me, this shade stayed on for eight hours before it started to fade.

How would you say this compares to peaches by Mac Christine?
Hi Nancy,
I’m not sure that I have Peaches! I’m missing a lot of MAC’s permanent blushes (I bought some, but I haven’t had a chance to photograph them, so I can’t swatch either, lol! they’ve been on the to-do list since June ’13). I did a quick Google search and couldn’t find a review for it. I remember Peaches being a bit browner, not quite as orange as Smitten.
other than cool lavender based pink blushes, this would be my second in line for blush tones that make me look positively sickly so I have an entirely subjective negative opinion which does not speak to the quality of the product. Needless to say, this wasn’t one of my picks so can safely leave this to those who can work it better than I.
I’m happy that there were at least a few shades that appealed to you 😀
Pretty! How does this compare to Mac Peaches Christine?
Hi Dee,

That’s a lovely shade, but, on my tanned skin i am afraid it will show up!
It might brighten/add some warmth, but it’s not the most suitable shade for darker skin tones!
Smitten looks like it was made for you! It looks so soft and natural. Love it on you!
Thanks a lot, Fancie!
How does this differ from Makeup Geek Bliss? Is it more orange?
Bliss is darker, pinker. They’re really quite different! http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=167559&dupe=167576
It looks nice!
It is!
Even though it’s really warm, I love it!
Yay!
This looks so pretty in the pan and gives you a lovely natural flush Christine.
I have been looking for something like this that isn’t too cool for my olive-warm skin tone.
No idea where to purchase this in Australia so that’ll be my mission today.
Online only… for well, everyone, I think! They do ship internationally, and their rates are in line with what one might spend to ship internationally (like they’re not jacked up and profiting off of shipping!).
Thanks – I had a little lookie and you’re on the money.
I might have to organise a little care package for myself 🙂
Are these products tested on animals? I only buy CRUELTY FREE products!
It is always best to check the brand’s website, as they will always have the most current information regarding something like if it is important to you!

This wasn’t on my radar at all, but it immediately reminded me of MAC Peaches blush! Definitely one of those colours that can be a hit or miss, but love the formula!
The formula is great!
How does this compare to NARS sex appeal?
This is a beautiful shade, Ive been looking for the perfect orange-ish/not to pink/cantaloupe like color.
Sex Appeal is a lot lighter!
YCBB…well, you know what that must mean. Just gorgeous on you, but completely natural. The MUG blushes are giving MAC LE run for the sold out money. Thank God they’re permanent!
Thank you, KJH! 🙂 I love these more than MAC blushes in general (better texture/formula).
This blush is very pretty and natural on you 🙂 I think the undertone is a little too light for me, but I think the colour is lovely!
Thank you, Sylirael! 😀
I like this a lot more than Bliss on you! (And probably on me too!) it looks like it would warm up the complexion nicely 🙂
Glad you liked it, Sonya!
