MAC Prom Princess Blush Review, Photos, Swatches (Archie's Girls)
MAC Prom Princess Blush
MAC Prom Princess Blush ($22.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “mid-tone violet pink” with a satin finish. It’s a darkened, cool-toned pink with a barely-there sheen. MAC Divine Desire is lighter and more shimmery. NARS Angelika is a bit brighter. MAC Supernova is bolder, redder. Tom Ford Wicked is similar in color but frostier. Illamasqua Seduce is similar but a cream product (no shimmer). MAC Feeling Flush is a touch cooler-toned. MAC Amazon Princess #2 is redder.
Prom Princess had good color payoff, but the texture was a little dry and powdery–workable and not too influential on the application, though. The finish of this is very, very subtle with its sheen. The sheen becomes more pronounced as you buff and blend out the color. It’s this subtle sheen that is the most beautiful part of the blush; it keeps it looking soft and natural and makes the powderiness inherent in the texture disappear. It’s very blendable on the skin–fantastic for a bolder shade like this–and it wore for seven hours well with some slight, noticeable fading after eight hours of wear.

Hi Christine, I want to thank you for all your hard work, staying up and finishing all these reviews for us!
Is it sad I’ve been waiting for this swatch forever?? I seriously cannot wait for this collection to hit stores, and I definitely need this blush now! I always wait for your reviews until I’m sure 🙂
I really like that look on you. 🙂
Pretty much the entire collection is sold out online in Canada. That is ridiculous. Either they are ignorant to demand or really continue to spit in the face of avid MAC fans by dangling this hopeless carrot. F everything about MAC. I’m going to spend my money at places like Hourglass where if I fall in love with a product, at least it will be there when I go to pick it up.
I’m so afraid this is going to be too cool-toned for me. It looks so beautiful on you, though, Christine…but then everything seems to!!!
Looking at your reviews so far they have done a good job with this set. Thanks for the reviews!
looks good on you. waiting for Mellans post
Christine, you always have the best swatches! Love your earrings btw!
I’m so happy about this collection… I feel MAC is starting to make nice collections again haha
How does this compare to Nars Seduction?
Seduction is wayyyy redder!
Beautiful, but the blue base doesn’t work well on my olive skin tone…
You look gorgeous, Christine! This is a fun, date night with your husband look. Your skin may lean warm but not majorly because these colors don’t make you look sallow.
I kind of need this. This blush is pretty
You always look so beautiful with any makeup you wear, honestly.
Christine how would you compare it with tarte flush blush? Thank you for your review, it must be a lot of work. I always wait for your review, you are the only beauty blogger I follow.
I don’t think I have Flush, unfortunately! 🙁
Kind of reminds me of Dollymix or is that way off?
Dollymix is brighter and lighter 🙂
Damn it! This was on my wish list from the beginning, but I talked my self out of it. Now I want it again. Pretty sure I have something very similar, though.
Also, keep seeing this eyeshadow look on you makes me desperate for the purple quad. Sooo gorgeous! But after seeing the swatches and knowing the mediocre quality LE MAC palettes usually have I’m thinking I probably made the right decision not buying it.
I was debating on whether or not to get this blush because it looks so close to Passionately Tempted from the Taste Temptation collection. But I see you don’t have it listed in the dupes. How does PT compare? Is it different enough to justify having both? Thanks in advance!
It’s darker, more pigmented, stronger red undertone. If you only use Passionately Tempted lightly, then probably not.
Looks like I’ll be skipping. Thanks for your help! (:
Would you happen to know if this is similar to Illamasqua Thrust?
Sorry, I don’t believe I have that!
Thanks, anyway! 🙂
What brush do you use for vibrant blushes like this one? I can’t wait until I receive mine but I don’t want to look like a baby doll. Ur blush always looks great 🙂
You can use a stippling brush like MAC’s 187 or a fan brush (I believe that’s the 184?) 🙂
This is just as gorgeous as I thought it would be. I don’t think I have enough cash to buy this as well as the other stuff I want, but it is stunning!
Is this similar shade to Tarte blush in flush? because I have flush and it somewhat looks like that?
I don’t think I have that shade! 🙁
How much blush can a girl need??? Coz I also need this one!! 🙂
Hey Christine! Love the review! I have MACs cremeblend Florida blush from the Shop MAC line and was wondering how Prom Princess compares?? If It’s too similar then I will skip this little guy! Thanks! =)
Florida is more magenta 🙂
Thanks so much for the feedback!! I greatly appreciate your time and efforts!! Love this blog! =)
Yay! I really LOVE this blush! Such a lovely shade and packaging!
Yay! I really LOVE this blush! Such a lovely shade and packaging!!
Super pretty! Thanks for all the posts!
Really appreciate it.
Hi! Is it similar to mac’s coygirl?
I believe Coygirl is a lot lighter!
Is this similar to any of MAC’s permanent blushes?
All the dupes I could think of I listed in the post 🙂
Hi Christine, thanks so much for your reviews, they are so helpfull!
Do you think this blush is a dupe for MAC casual color in Weekend getaway? because this one looks so beautiful but I already own Weekend getaway..
Weekend Getaway isn’t as dark or as cool-toned!
