MAC Pink + Rose Pigments + Glitter Objects of Affection Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC Pink + Rose Pigments + Glitter Objects of Affection
MAC Pink + Rose Pigments + Glitter Objects of Affection ($35.00 for 0.50 oz.) includes four pigments (each containing 0.09 oz.) and one glitter (containing 0.14 oz.). This set ranges from light pink to bronze to copper to deeper pink and plum. The collection releases online October 27th and in-stores on November 6th.
Whisper Pink is described as a “soft beige pink with pearl.” It is a light, milky pink with gold shimmer. The texture was very chunky, so it was difficult to apply as an even layer. It applied smoother dry, but it was mostly gold shimmer when used that way. I would take a mixing palette with a damp brush and smooth out the pigment on it, then apply to the lid. On me, it wore well for eight hours before creasing, but there was some fall out during wear. See swatches of dupes / view dupes side-by-side.
Tan is described as a “muted pinky brown bronze.” It’s a warm-toned, metallic copper brown with warm, red undertones. The texture wasn’t quite as smooth as I remember it being, but it will smooth out if applied damp. It was semi-sheer applied dry, then more opaque applied damp. It lasted for eight hours on me. This is a permanent shade. See swatches of dupes/ view dupes side-by-side.
Rose is described as a “rose with copper sparkle.” It’s a medium-dark pink with a lot of chunky, gold shimmer. It really needs to be pushed and buffed into the skin to smooth it out, though it was possible, and it was easier to do so if you applied the color with a damp brush. It was semi-sheer applied dry, semi-opaque applied damp. The color wore well for eight hours, but there was some fall out during wear. This is a permanent shade. See swatches of dupes / view dupes side-by-side.
Reigning Riches is described as a “soft copper [Glitter].” It’s a copper glitter with small glitter particles (but larger than micro-glitter). It is listed as not safe for usage around the eyes or lips.
Heritage Rouge is described as a “dirty brown plum.” It’s a rich, medium-dark plum with warm undertones and a pearly finish. Applied dry, it was semi-opaque and appeared warmer, and applied damp, it was less brown, more plum, with full opacity. It wore well for eight and a half hours before creasing slightly. This is a permanent shade. See swatches of dupes / view dupes side-by-side.
The formula is described as a “highly concentrated loose colour powder” that will “adhere to the skin.” They can be used to “create a subtle wash of colour or an intense effect.” The formula is supposed to be “easy to blend and long-lasting.” The majority work best when applied with a dampened brush, as it helps the powder bind and adhere to the skin, though some shades are more pigmented than others for dry application.
MAC now offers “Sized to Go” pigments in select shades, which are the same size as the ones in the set, for $10 ($111.11/oz). Normally, a full-sized jar of pigment is $21.00 for 0.15 oz. ($140/oz.). The set contains $40.00 or $50.40 worth of pigments, depending on which calculation you use. Full-sized glitters are $21.00 for 0.15 oz. ($140/oz.), so there is $19.60 worth of glitter here. All in all, the set contains at least $59.60 worth of product, and on the high end, $70.00. The only annoyance is that the smaller jars can be harder to use, depending on the size of your fingers/hands, but you’ll want to be careful. I usually find the best luck in pouring a little into the cap or onto a metal mixing palette.

I’ve been thinking about picking up Heritage Rouge & Rose, so this is ideal since there is no way I’ll ever get through a full-size pigment in this lifetime, LOL!
Awesome!
Ok, this one is more aptly named 😉 the Rose pigment is super pretty! I’m not so much with the tan one, but the plummy shade i is nice too.
LOL! 😉
I would purchase the entire set just for Rose, and Heritage Rouge alone! These two look AMAZING! It’s too bad Whispering Pink look so off!
Heritage Rouge is really lovely!
I love this set the most! <3 So gorgeous and versatile! <3
It is a pretty set of shades!
These sets are like beautiful. I’m so buying this one as well as the Beige one. It’s a shame that they don’t have the white packaging like the Gray one does, because I find the white packaging is the prettiest of all!
Aww! 🙁
Holy cow! Heritage Rouge is calling my name! It’s the only one in this set that I love, but since it is perm, I am hoping they have it in the mini’s for $10 because I need it in my life 😀
I don’t think they have it in mini, unfortunately 🙁
I have the full size Tan pigment and it is so much more buttery and even than this one is! I’m surprised it’s so different.
I was surprised as well!
Heritage Rouge is nice but I’d probably just get the NARS dupe.
Enjoy!
Rose and Heritage Rouge are beautiful!
They’re both very pretty shades!
This is by far my favorite set among all.. the Rose , Heritage Rouge are so prettyy!!
Do you think you’ll indulge in this set, Poo?
I NEED Rose pigment, such a lovely festive color!!
I like the gold in it!
I own Rose, and I love it, I’m thinking of not getting this set, but buying the full size of Heritage Rouge instead, and buying the grey-blue set. I thinkthe gold one contains shedea I have, not as pigments, but as ordianry eyeshadows.
I think I got it solved.
Thanks so much for reviews and swatches and for helping me make my mind up!
My pleasure, Helene! 🙂
Apart from Heritage Rouge this looks bad.
It’s an okay set!
i wanted to pick this up, but i have full pigment jars of Tan and Rose pigment, and have no interest in the glitter. I have wanted Heritage rouge for the longest time, but i’m not willing to buy this set just for 1 pigment mini. Heritage rouge is not available as part of the permanent line, where I live, so i’ll have to search for it online, or wait until it’s re-promoted.
I hope it’ll be made permanent for your region soon!
me too.
re-promos.. >!<
They tend to do so with the holiday sets!
Rose is beautiful!! <3 However I am makeup challenged when it comes down to loose pigments and loose shadows. LOL!
Awwww! They do take some patience!
Of course, the set I liked the most performs the worst. Ha, ha: This is not my holiday season. XD
LoL! I think these are “worth” working with, if you like loose eyeshadows or MAC pigments.
Those colours are soo beautiful! I am so into shades like this. I love Mac pigments, I have the larger size of the Tan and it’s stunning.
It is a nice color!
I have Tan, and you’re correct Christine, the full size pigment is a very smooth texture, it doesn’t look like your swatch. I also don’t find it to be as warm as it looks here, and the undertone is more pinkish than red. My favorite way to use it is with a brown-toned eye look. After the eyeshadow is applied, I use a damp fingertip or brush and lightly tap the Tan pigment it over the center of the eyelid (over the ball of the eye with your eye closed). It transforms the look from plain to magical. A subtle yet noticeable difference, like tightlining your upper eyelashes.
Rose Pink and Heritage Rouge are very pretty, though I could do without the chunky textures, and the glitter, so for the two pigments that I would probably only use occasionally I’ll probably pass. The Rose Pink is available in the “Sized to Go”. I wish ALL of the pigments were available in the $10 size, and we could pick our own sets.
$10 is really nice, too, for the sized-to-go options.
MAC really picked some nice shades this year! I’m loving Heritage Rouge and Rose. The glitter is gorgeous too!
Heritage Rouge is swoon-worthy!
I just purchased this kit today. I was really excited for Reigning Riches because it looked so festive in the bottle, but the swatch doesn’t look like it meets my expectation. Heritage Rouge looks much more beautiful than I expected though haha. I guess that balances out.
Hopefully you’ll find a way to make Reigning Riches work!
I swatched them all in store and Tan was much nicer than shown here. Very creamy and smooth. Maybe the batches differ?
Could be!
