MAC’s Powder Blush formula is supposed to be easy to apply, long-wearing, and have “fantastic colour.” It’s hard to generalize for MAC’s blush formula, because it varies a lot from shade to shade, even within different types of finishes! Some of them are very good, others are so-so, and a few are complete misses. The more frosted/shimmery shades tend to have the softest and smoothest textures and are easier to apply and blend out on the skin, while more satin and matte shades can sometimes be powdery, firm, or stiff, which makes blending more challenging. The wear is typically between six and nine hours but closer to seven to eight hours on average. Pinch o’ Peach had good pigmentation with a soft, blendable texture that was a smidgen powdery but didn’t look dry or powdery on the skin. It didn’t seem like a satin-finish to me; it was softer and really was rather flat in finish. When I tested it for wear, the color wore well for eight hours before having visible fading. I believe this shade was permanent for awhile, then discontinued, and is now brought-back; the original seemed a bit darker and had stronger warm undertones (I couldn’t find the previous version in my stash, but I looked at a past swatch I did).

It looks too flat and dense for my tastes, I prefer my blushes to have some shimmer/sheen. But this might be good if you have oily skin.

This looks scary pale in the pan! But applied, it actually looks considerably richer in color and pigment than I was expecting. In the winter months, I love these types of shades (how it translates on your cheeks, not the pan), but this is really bizarre because of the extreme difference.

Thanks for the review. This was my first blush ever! I still love it, even if I don’t use it a lot. I’m going to dig it out of my makeup drawer now.

Nice colour!!
What do you do with products you buy the pan of? Do you always but a compact or palette from the brand, another brand or keep it in the plastic packaging?

Thank you for saving me money (yet again)! The original was my first MAC blush and remains an all-time favorite – a rare thing, I actually finished one! – and I was so disappointed when I learned it was discontinued. A pretty darn close match for it is NYX’s Peach, but I still would have purchased a new original if it hadn’t changed. Bummer!
