MAC Perfect Topping Mineralize Skinfinish ($32.00 for 0.35 oz.) is described as a “shimmery pale peach with lavender marble.” It’s a golden peach with warm, yellow undertones and a soft, frosted sheen. MAC Born to Dazzle (LE) is more sparkly. Tarte Champagne (LE) is similar. Becca Moonstone (P, $38.00) is similar. theBalm Solid Gold (P, $24.00) is similar. theBalm Mary Lou-manizer (P, $24.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

This shade will launch on December 26th in-stores and pop-up a bit earlier on MAC’s website on the 23rd. It is a repromote, so you may already have it in your stash if you tend to pick up the Mineralize Skinfinishes that get released. The texture felt soft and finely-milled once dislodged from the pan, but the pattern makes it feel less smooth to the touch compared to the more domed pan of the regular Mineralize Skinfinishes, though I think this is slightly drier in comparison. That being said, the color of this one differs noticeably from my version of it from this year–this is a lot more golden, way less peach (which was also unlike the version I have from 2009…). I don’t know if it’s a genuine change or if it’s the difference in pans, as the actual pan of the product featured in this post has significantly more gold/yellow areas and less brown/peach (so the way it swatches is consistent with the proportions of veining/colors in the pan). It produces a soft sheen that doesn’t seem to emphasize pores while still looking luminous but not oily or overly dewy. It had good color payoff that was easily applied true-to-pan for a bit of color (more for fairer skin tones) or as a highlighter with less opacity. On me, the effect lasted well for almost seven hours before fading.

Wish they had released something more whitish with a cool undertone, though I can see these as more universal (I’m speaking selfishly from a pale person’s perspective lol). Christine, can you recommend a really pale highlighter with a cool undertone… one not as dramatic as the holiday Chanel one, and maybe not as expensive as a Cle de Peau?

Sorry to just butt in here, but I’m also a pale princess (haha) and I have used this cream highlighter from Pupa Milano for a while now and must say I absolutely love it! It’s called the Snow Queen Pearly All Over Highlighter 001 and it gives the most beautiful luminous glow to the skin, not glittery or mettalic at all! Also haven’t noticed it emphasing pores at all. Don’t know if you can get your hands on this brand where you live but if you can it’s absolutely gorgeous, highly recommended. It was about 17 euros I belive but worth every penny!

The thing for me about marbled products, especially where there really is a significant variation, and it means something for the colour/finish is that they look gorgeous (or like bacon, Hourglass), but it sort of puts me off buying, because I can hardly ask the salesperson to let me swatch every pan they have in stock to see which one is best for me. Also, no returns in these parts mean that if you happen to get one that has too much or too little of one of the colours, you’re kind of stuck…

I was so ready to buy this when the visuals came out but I’m really disappointed with the swatches! Why shell out 30$ when I already have a Mary-Lou Luminize and it performs better, you know? :p I mean, I can’t justify it, really XD

This looks gorgeous on you! I live in a humid climate so I can start looking shiny/melted quickly and I’ve always avoided these kinds of shimmery finishes for fear of making my shiny look worse lol. That, and emphasizing lines (I’m almost 48)! I wonder if there’s a good match for someone like me?

How similar is it to the peachy pink side of the Sharon Osbourne double pan mineralize skinfinish, the one where 3/4 of the pan is orangey brown, and 1/4 is the perfect peachy pink soft and silky highlighter. Alsways wanted a full pan if that color, is this it?

The MAC skinfinish if Lightscape, both the regular and the repromote in this collection swirl white, lavender, yellow and green together. On my very pale skin it comes out as white with a hint of pink undertone. Sounds like what you are looking for and Christine just reviewed the repromote version withe the patchwork pattern a few days ago!

i got this a year ago with a different collection and i love mine. i specifically chose one with lots of purple veining. i liked the old packaging better too because you can see the whole pan from the box and really choose which one u like best. now there’s only a small window in the packaging right? such a bummer.
i’m seriously put off by the awful pattern in these products–so not for me, i prefer the regular smooth dome. i was surprised how pretty this colour looks on me. its a very unique colour, at least the one i have. it’s not overly peachy and there is like a purple shift. i love mine, it swatches way different than yours and doesn’t look like Mary-Loumanizer at all.
