Passionately Tempted May Be More Conventional Than You Thought

MAC Night Blooming Mattene Lipstick ($15.00 for 0.08 oz.) is described as a “mid-tone blue pink.” It’s a vibrant magenta pink with strong, cool blue undertones and a satin-matte finish. MAC Outrageously Fun is less vibrant, pinker. Le Metier de Beaute Paris is darker, pinker. MAC Dear Diary is more vibrant. MAC Candy Yum Yum is cooler-toned. MAC Pink Pigeon is a touch lighter. MAC Love Forever is lighter, more muted.

It’s rich in color and applies with opaque color coverage. The texture is creamy and glides on easily. The finish is satiny initially, but after an hour or two, it becomes mostly matte. This particular shade did stain my lips (which you may or may not appreciate), and it lasted for six and a half hours plus had a lingering stain for another hour or so. Β It is vanilla-scented, and while creamy, it was not too thick or heavy worn. Β There are two other shades of Mattenes coming out with this collection, which I’ll review when I’m able to purchase them.

hummm….its close to outragously fun and pink pigeon. I have outragously fun and I’ve been LUSTING after pink pigeon which I heard is supposed to be repromoted this spring. I’m going to the preview event tomorrow night so I’ll swatch it and see how I feel about it then. I LOVE outragously fun, but I’m not so sure I need 2 or even 3 of the same colors.

GORGEOUS! How does it compare to Show Orchid? And… I LOVE seeing your great smile but would you ever consider a face picture with lips closed? I know you have them close up but it would be great to see it from a little further away. Like you don’t do enough right?!?! Just a thought. I appreciate everything you do and ALWAYS check here before buying anything! So THANK YOU! XOXO

At first, I looked at this lipstick and thought, “YAAAY! Hooray, SO PINK!!” …And then I realized…I’m going to be THAT AUNT. You know, the crazy Aunt with the bold/bright lipstick that’s like, “Come here, honey, and let your Aunt give you a kiss” then the kid is just like “AHHH!!!” HAHAHA. Ok, I totally had that Aunt as a kid, and I realized with my love for bold lips, I’m going to be that Aunt. Crap. LOL.

OMG!!! This color is so amazing. Love the pink color for it looks like a striking color to me. I usually prefer pink shades for I find them so girly. I think I’m going to try this one after I finish with my Revlon lippie.

Girl About Town is a darker pink with less magenta in it. I don’t think they’re similar at all other than they both have pink in them.

Hi Christine! I have a “tough” question for you. I love peachy-looks. I am quite blonde (not platinum!), fair skin (NC 20 more or less, neutral/ warm undertone). I would like to buy a combo of blush+ lipstick from Illamasqua (never tried this brand, but reviews say it’s worthy!). I would like to achieve a very natural, portable, peachy look for everyday makeup. What would you suggest me?
I was looking probably at “Lover” as a blush. But for the lipstick I am really undecided (among Obey, Over and Brick maybe…but likely there will be other options..). Everything seems so “bright” from the swatches on illamasqua.com! I cannot decide! πŸ™
Can you suggest something for me? (Blush + lipstick)? thanks REALLY a lot!

Gosh. Of all the dupes above, the only ones I don’t have are the Le Metier and Pink Pigeon, but still here I am!

Christine, how does this compare to Lickable (cremesheen)?

Also, it’s been awhile since my last Mattene. How do you think this formula is compared to pro longwear lipcreme? Texture and weartime specially? Any preference? TIA! πŸ˜€

Grrr! Just when I thought being 6 hrs ahead gives me a leg-up on ordering online, I still missed this! =/
Maybe next time!

But thanks Christine!! =) I’ll be on the look-out for its reappearance! And because it’s a different pink, it’s on my list! ,p

Hi Christine!
I’m obsessed with mac lipstick. I’ve been trying to collect them up^^ Would you mind to recommence some nude pink or peach colors for everyday looks that the ladies must to have? Please you share your share your favorite ones?? Thanks in advances πŸ™‚

Love, love, love this lipstick!!! Cannot wait! Thank you for reviewing it. I always follow your reviews and you never let me down. Just wondering if you will be reviewing Seductive Intent and Nocturnal Instinct mattene lipsticks?

Thank you kindly!

Alexandra
