MAC Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection: Technakohls Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Full of Fuchsia, Artistic License Technakohls

MAC Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection: Technakohls

With five shades of technakohls to choose from, the MAC Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection has you covered.

Technakohl ($14.50)

  • Full of Fuchsia is a fuchsia-purple with icy fuchsia sheen. It reminded me of a very intense Pink Pearl pigment. It’s not quite as bright as Brash & Bold pigment, but they are a bit similar.
  • Artistic License is a just-less-than electric blue with an aqua-green tone.
  • Obviously Orange is a pop of medium-bright orange. It’s not neon orange, and it’s not rusty or coppery either. Compared to Colour Matters, this one has a much more noticeable shimmer/frost to it–kind of a golden shimmer.
  • Colour Matters is a satiny chartreuse shade. It looks nearly the same as True Chartreuse pigment does, just in technakohl liner. Since I’m lazy at heart, I am pleased to see it in technakohl form (even though, if you’re on a budget, you could use the pigment form to create your own liner).

  • Product: 8/10
  • Value: 8/10
  • Ease of Use: 7/10
  • Packaging: 8/10

Recommendation: I think the technakohls were my favorite part of the launch — just great to see new, not-yet-done shades of the technakohl family be released. I recommend all of the shades, though I’m partial to Colour Matters and Artistic License.

LOL! He did make a *valid* observation 😉 Personally, I think the green liner is a bit *too much* to wear except maybe once or twice during summer time…but that’s just me! As it is I hardly wear limey-greeny e/s so chances for an e/l are much slimmer 🙂
I do like the orange one though!

Obviously orange is striking my fancy… I’m contemplating going to MAC and picking one up, but i’m unsure how i would wear it… any suggestions? :/

Got all of these today, except for Graphblack since I already own it. I’m looking forward to playing around with them on the weekend…still have no idea how I’m going to wear them though.

I feel silly for asking, but what exactly would you do with these? i really love the pink one.. but i have hazel eyes so i dont know if any would look good.. not much of an orange fan and i know that would work.. but if someone could give me pointers on what to do with these that would be great.

hi hazel, you can use these pencils as liners instead of your usal black or use them on your waterline or even as a base its up to you. AS you have hazel eyes I would say all colours would look fab on you! I have brown and have to say most colours look fab! you can even wear the pencils on their own hope this helps! :)x

I was gonna get Full of Fuchsia but my mac store was already sold out on them. 2 days after the collection was released! So I got Artistic License and I love it!

They look like fun colors for spring/summer. It sucks because fall is just about to start.. so.. I’m stuck, they look so pretty and nicely pigmented, I might just get them anyway 🙂

Guys, is at artistic liscence very similar to urban decay 24/7 liner in electric cause i’m not too sure about getting it. I am deffo going to get full of fuschia but now im just stuck between artistic liscence and obviously orange :S

hi faheema,

i would say artistic license is similar to urban decacy 24/7 pencil and the pink one you can get an exact dupe of the GOSH pink eye pencil from the pics as this collection is not launched in the uk yet.

on another note has anyone seen the new urban decay holiday sets the uk debenhams store had them in there are 2 new eye palletes with 6 e/s in the most beautiful colourful packagin ive every seen a new 24/7 travel eye pencil set with 3 new colours but the eye pencils are smaller then last years but you get more i think there are 10 in the pack for £18 and there is a best of urban with a mini skyscrapper mascara, mini pocket rocket, eye primer etc! i cant even see on the urbandecay website of theses products for once the uk had a realse b4 the US!

My MAC MA told me today when i picked these up, that these technikohl pencils can not Back to MAC 🙁 since it has no B2M logo on the box. So sad ! (the colors are a lot of fun!)
