MAC Make You Mine Pro Longwear Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC Make You Mine Pro Longwear Blush
MAC Make You Mine Pro Longwear Blush ($26.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “dirty salmon.” It’s a muted, medium copper-plum with a very fine gold shimmer-sheen–it’s more like a soft, satin finish. Gucci Beauty Cherry Nectar (P, $49.00) is darker. Tom Ford Beauty Contour (Softcore) (LE, $55.00) is pinker. MAC Sea Me, Hear Me (LE, $25.00) is lighter. MAC Scene to Be Seen (Inner) (LE, $32.00) is more shimmery. Benefit Rockateur (P, $28.00) is lighter. Bobbi Brown Nude Beach Blush (LE, $26.00) is slightly darker. MAC Ambering Rose (P, $21.00) is more shimmery, warmer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
The texture of this blush is brilliant–soft, silky, smooth–and done so well that it almost feels like a cream product rather than a powder. MAC really nailed the formula here, as it is delivers the promised buildable color, blends easily, and wears for eight hours (exactly as claimed). The finish has a very subtle sheen to it that translates more as your-skin-but-better, so there’s no emphasis of pores, and it’s not really shimmery. That slight sheen keeps it from looking too dull or matte against the skin. And good news, it is permanent! You can purchase it in pan format through MAC and pop it into your empty palette of choice, which will save you $7 (which almost pays for the empty palette!).

That’s a really pretty blush shade, perfect for fall. And I love your lip color too!
Thanks, Agata! 🙂
Oh that IS good news, especially for a color this pretty and a formula that smooth and creamy 😀
It is very nice!
This blush is GORGEOUS on you!
Aw! Thank you, Miss Jae! 🙂
I agree! Wow, really gorgeous photo.
The blush looks so beautiful on you! I personally don’t usually wear it because my face is naturally super rosy but I am always envious of those who can because it looks so beautiful! Great post 🙂
Glad you liked it!
I love that shade of blush, and it got a 10. I so don’t need blush, but I am tempted by that great fall color
Luckily, it’s permanent, so you can always reconsider! 🙂
Can I ask what lipstick you are wearing in the full face picture? It’s lovely and just my sort of colour.
Here you go!
THE MAKEUP LOOK
On face: Guerlain Parure Gold Foundation, Guerlain Les Voilettes Loose Powder. On eyes: Sephora Girls Night Out Eyeliner. On lips: NYX Power Lipstick.
Thanks
It makes me happy to know you are reviewing NYX wicked lippies! I hope they are as awesome as they look!
Wow – this got some great ratings! 10’s across the board. So glad to hear it’s permanent! I’ve recently acquired two MAC blushes that don’t have a home (as my first palette is full) so I “need” four more to complete a new one. This is definitely on the list! Seems like it will be awesome for the Summer. 🙂
Haha! “Need” 😉
The blush is gorgeous, but I think I just fell in love with that lipcolor! What is it?
Here you go, Kristen!

Love the color! Happy to know its permanent!
Me too! A sigh of relief 😉
Just curious, if this product wears for as long as it claims to, shouldn’t the longevity be 10/10?
Good catch! My cheat sheet lists 8.5 for 8 hour wear, but I totally spaced on it only saying 8 hours. Sorry again! I wish I wasn’t so dumb, lol!
Not a colour for me, but I’m glad it performed well since blush can fade on me easily. I can’t wait to see that last coral one!
Me too!
I was waiting for this review! Thank you Christine
No prob, Amy!
Yay! I took a chance and ordered this yesterday morning based on only a couple of swatches. I’m so glad it performs well too. It looks lovely on you!
Enoy, Ella! 🙂
Hi Christine! How does it compare to Chanel Canaille? I really wanted it but 48$ CAD for a blush was a bit out of my budget.
Canaille is lighter and warmer, less red! http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=164084&dupe=177513
I like russet shades but they rarely work on me.
Aw 🙁
I love this blush, I’ve been wearing it everyday since I got my package in the mail. It looks beautiful on you as well.
That’s awesome! 😀
It’s beautiful on you — makes me want to rush out and get some for myself. Good job!
Thank you, Sue!
Lovely apricot for fall. I’m so glad that the formula is great.
Me too! The texture is very nice.
why does mac keep releasing ONLY satin blushes??? i dont like the satin formula at all. its not very finely milled and gets hard on top after a few uses. the matte and shimmer/sheertone formulas are so much better in my opinion. at least they could switch it up a little
I don’t think this is like their regular satin finish in the regular blush line, just FYI! 🙂
I was wary about buying this without a swatch, but it’s going into my cart NOW. THANKS YOU!!!
Haha! Oops!
I’m glad to hear it’s both excellent *and* permanent 🙂 It’s not really a shade for me, but it’s always nice when you get to hear those two pleasant thing together!
(Usually it’s ‘awesome’ and ‘LE’…)
It’s refreshing when something is permanent (with MAC)!
I’m definitely tempted by this, haha!
I look forward to seeing if you can resist 😉
The shade is incredibly similar to the NARS Almeria! Looks amazing and I’m glad the rating is quite high! Must have shade 🙂
It is more different than you’d think 🙂
This blush shade is gorgeous.
Will be getting one of these very shortly…. <3 xoxo
Katie
Enjoy ’em!
Yaaay I’m so glad you reviewed this product as I always find your reviews to be the most helpful . I check your blog twice a day lol. Last week I don’t know what made me buy this product well Ofcourse because it’s a part of the latest collection anyway I was skeptical and kept checking your blog to see if you got it aswell and if so, what your thoughts were. So yeah now I’m actually really happy I got this blush 🙂 😀
Aww! Thank you so much, Anne 🙂 Enjoy your new blush!
This is a very nice, pretty blush. You look fantastic, as always. It’s really good that it’s permanent, *I can buy it after Christmas 🙂
Thank you! 😀
Hi Christine,
At the beginning I went for crazed imagination, but since I have animal instinct, I decided to skip
I bought today make you mine instead based on your rating, indeed it feels smooth and color is amazing..
I’m happy about this choice
Woohoo! Happy to hear you’re loving the blush as much as me, Isabelle 😀
Got this yesterday at Mac – it looks really nice on my olive/yellow undertones skin! It’s my first Mac blush and there’s something different about it than other blushes that I will try to describe. It’s somehow less powdery, yet not as immediately intense as the other blushes I’ve tried to figure out (wet and wild, nars, hard candy and UD) but it builds color beautifully!
So glad you’re loving it, too! It’s soft but not powdery, right? Really smooth.
I absolutely looove colours like this! I wish I lived in a city with a MAC store and I would totally pick this up.
Aww! It is available online.
I’m so glad this is permanent! It looks like a great everyday blush and I don’t have to rush out and grab it. I can focus on losing my mind over all these holiday collections lol
It’s so great that it is perm!
So beautiful on you! You look awesome!:)
Thanks, Sarah!
How is this blush comparing with “nars unlawful” please? They look similar (excepted the silver sheen)
Unlawful is lighter and more shimmery!
This reminds me of Laura Mercier spiced cider– anyone know how it compares?
As a side note, could that description of dirty salmon be grosser?? Conjures a really disgusting smell/visual 😛
I don’t have Spiced Cider, unfortunately!
Thanks anyway! Well at least it’s pernanent so I’ll have time to hem and haw over it / have a comparison-swatchfest at my local store 🙂
Hi there. Is this similar to unlawful by nars? Thx!
I don’t think so!
