MAC Love, Rihanna Bronzing Powder
MAC Love, Rihanna Bronzing Powder ($30.00) is described as a “soft golden brown with gold pearl.” It’s a medium brown with warm, yellow-orange undertones and a barely-there satin finish. Wet ‘n’ Wild Bikini Contest (P, $3.99) is slightly darker. MAC Hibiscus Kiss Bronzer (LE, $25.00) is similar–a touch yellower. Clarins Splendours (LE, $35.00) is darker. Burberry Copper Glow (P, $48.00) is similar. NARS Laguna (P, $36.00) is browner, more shimmery. MAC Soft Sand (LE, $25.00) is less orange. Dior Pink Glow Bronzer (LE) is lighter. See comparison swatches.
Now, for the first several swatches or uses of the product, it’s a completely different color, because the raised “R” in the compact has a copper-hued frost over-spray which dramatically changes the color to a coppery, medium-dark brown. Unfortunately, it is just an over-spray, as I vigorously brushed away all of the over-spray on the lettering, and it did disappear, and I did, also, dig into the pan a bit and only saw more of the softer brown color come through. I think this could have been more of a special shade if the color on the “R” went all the way through the powder. The consistency of the powdery was fairly soft and velvety, and it blended easily on the skin. It had decent to good color payoff (judging by once all of the over-spray was removed). I wore it yesterday, and it wore well for seven and a half hours, and then it started to look a bit faded after eight hours of wear. The best part about the powder was how blendable it was, but it is similar to a lot of bronzers by MAC (including Hibiscus Kiss, which launched in the summer under the RiRi Hearts MAC banner).
The MAC x RiRi Hearts MAC Holiday Collection launches in December. I don’t have a specific date yet, and as soon as I do, you’ll see me update the collection’s official information post. Your best bet is to catch me on Twitter or Facebook, as I usually make a mention on social media first 🙂
Please note: this is a sneak peek. I’m in the process of testing for wear, and as soon as I wrap up testing, I will update this post with that information as well as a full rating.

Hmm the swatches look nice but if it compares to Hibiscus Kiss then I’m going to pass. Hibiscus Kiss wasn’t exactly woc friendly. I’ll probably have to check this out in person. I can’t really tell if it’ll add warmth and glow or just get lost lol. Looks nice on you though!
If HK didn’t work for you, I doubt this will 🙁
I figured. So disappointing! But money saved lol. Thanks for the review!
woc? i keep seeing this word but what does it mean? sorry if its obvious to others but Im kinda slow 😛
Women of color 🙂
Ugh that copper overspray adds such a beautiful kick to this! I wish they made it go all the way through…I’d consider purchasing if it did. The last thing I need is just another bronzer. I think I’ll pass on this one.
What’s overspray???
It’s a thin layer of product that is sprayed on top of the rest of the product!
I’m really unsure about this product in the line… Christine, do you think this will look good on NC20 skin tone? Thank you !
Yes, I think it would be fine on NC20!
Such a shame about the overspray . I , too , think it would’ve been better if the copper went all the way through .
I might still pick this up .
Swatches looks similar to hibiscus kiss. I might have to get this though cause I am a sucker for cute packaging =P
I wish it was the colour of the overspray swatch… That’s happening a lot lately.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it with the overspray! Without the overspray it’s nothing special 🙁
Exactlyy!
Hi Christine,
On the description it says yellow- orange undertone! Does it have a strong orange undertone to it?? I don’t really like when bronzers show up orange on the face.. Do think it will work on NC 20-25? Thanks Christine;-)
It’s yellow and orange, but it’s not strong orange or super yellow – kind of in-between. If you don’t like orange, I’d probably stay away.
I love coppers, but this looks a little orangey for a bronzer. I love orange blushes, but I think neutral tone bronzers look more natural.
It looks like a nice all-over bronzer, and I love the packaging! I don’t have any MAC bronzers. This looks fairly similar in color to NYC Sunny (which is matte) and also possibly Cargo bronzer in Medium. Any idea how those compare, Christine?
I think Sunny is yellower, don’t have Cargo!
Hi Christine. What is lipstick you are wearing in these photos. It looks great.
MAC Pleasure Bomb
I’ll be passing on this one to.
Hey can i know will this look good on my skin tone, i am an NW 40, i did not try the Hibiscus Kiss so i am not sure
It might not show up well very well!
That overspray is gorgeous!
I’m actually liking the bronzer without the overspray. How many uses or how long do you think will the overspray leave?
The overspray would probably last half a dozen uses or so but can be brushed away if you prefer it without!
Hi,
I was wondering if you know any products that match the overspray product?

Hi Christine! Would you say the texture is similar to the Pro Longwear bronzers (loving those!)? Is this one darker than Nude on Board?
Oh, no… the texture on this is nowhere near as soft.
Would this show up or look nice on a darker skin tone, I purchase this item
It will show up somewhat but it will be subtle.
I tried yestarday and it was way too orange for me , falso when i applied to my nose it look quite patchy 🙁 sad cuz the packaging is so pretty
