MAC Little Lovely Lipglass
MAC Little Lovely Lipglass ($10.00 for 0.08 fl. oz.) is a light yellow with warm undertones and iridescent pink and gold shimmer. It looked almost like it had a duochrome shift on the lips, but it was hard to tell (and even harder to capture!). This shade had semi-sheer coverage, and the color settled into lip lines a lot. The texture was comfortable to wear, though a bit thicker and tackier as you’d expect from the formula, but it was hydrating over the four hours it lasted. ColourPop Sunshine Required (LE, $8.00) is less pigmented (95% similar). MAC Kindness (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). MAC Gal Friday (P, $21.00) is cooler (95% similar). MAC On Cue (LE, $22.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC Pussywillow (LE, $21.00) is warmer (90% similar). Dior Gold Rain (164) (LE, $29.50) is warmer (90% similar). ColourPop Menagerie (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Pat McGrath Gold Allure (P, $30.00) is more shimmery, less pigmented (90% similar). Anastasia Diamond (LE, $16.00) is more shimmery, less pigmented, cooler (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
MAC Clear Water Lipglass ($10.00 for 0.08 fl. oz.) is a sheer golden base with iridescent sparkle and fine shimmer. It is actually described as sheer by the brand, so it is right on target in that respect. This shade has a lot of shimmer and shine, which makes it work well alone for a pop of sparkle, but it also works nicely layered over lipsticks. This shade lasted for four hours on its own. MAC Boundless Beige (DC, $19.50) is lighter (95% similar). Surratt Beauty Oh La La (P, $32.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Pat McGrath Aliengelic (P, $30.00) is cooler (90% similar). Estee Lauder Fired Crystal (LE, $36.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). ColourPop Neat Freak (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Jouer Frost Bite (P, $16.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC Water Deities Lipglass ($10.00 for 0.08 fl. oz.) is a medium, peachy copper with lots and lots of shimmer. It had more semi-opaque coverage due to just how much shimmer was in it; the gloss almost reads metallic applied as the shimmer is finer and very reflective. The texture was smooth, light-medium in weight, and comfortable to wear over four and a half hours. Lancome Mirrored Nude (09) (P, $22.00) is lighter (95% similar). Anastasia Estella (LE, $16.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). MAC Water Deities (LE, $21.00) is darker, less pigmented (95% similar). ColourPop Atole (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). NARS Bimini (P, $26.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC NUDE (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). MAC Flare for Fantasy (LE, $20.00) is warmer (90% similar). Ciate Luna (P, $18.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). Giorgio Armani Luce (101) (P, $38.00) is less glossy (90% similar). MAC Prancin' Dancin' (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). MAC Double Happiness (P, $20.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). ColourPop Etoile (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery, darker, more pigmented (90% similar). MAC Coconut Macaroon (LE, $17.50) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Pink Lust (DC, $30.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Love Nectar (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). ColourPop Drippin' (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). Smashbox Petal Metal (P, $24.00) is more shimmery, brighter (85% similar). Pat McGrath Flesh Astral (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, less pigmented (85% similar). FORMULA OVERVIEW | MAC Little MAC Lipglass ($10.00 for 0.08 fl. oz.) is a miniature-sized version of MAC’s regular Lipglass, so the formula is exactly the same and even includes shades previously released as limited edition. The Lipglass formula is supposed to be pigmented, shiny, and hydrating. I find that pigmentation can range from very sheer to totally opaque from shade to shade–there is a ton of variance–with a light-medium to medium-weight texture that’s thicker, moderately to very tacky, and lasts four to six hours. I don’t mind Lipglass myself, despite the tackiness, but if you loathe sticky glosses, Lipglass is probably not going to be your number one favorite! They are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste. For comparison, full-sized MAC Lipglasses are $15.00 for 0.17 fl. oz. or $88.24/fl. oz. while the miniature-sized is $125.00/fl. oz. The smaller size makes the most sense for those who like more variety rather than more product or who do not typically finish a gloss.

Do you know of any low-end glosses similar to Water Deities?
I love that kind of peachy with gold shimmer type gloss, but gloss is one of those things I tend to be frugal about.
I don’t, unfortunately!
I’ve wanted to check out Water Deities but it’s not available anymore in stores — tried a local Nordstrom last month, and this past weekend a MAC store in a major city. It’s only available on the website anymore. The perils of LEs I guess. Since I would rather swatch it first, and given varying reports re MAC online customer service, I’m unlikely to order but will check the dupes first. As always — thanks for the dupes listings!
Oh no! 🙁
How does Water Deities compare to Cle de Peau #2?

I don’t often get all oooh and aaah over sparkle, but Clear Water is sooooo pretty!
It is!
I don’t really understand why they added so many new (and repromoted LE) shades to the mini line, but not the regular lipglass line? I’ve been wanting Water Deities and Clear Water since AA came out but I’m not super excited about them being minis. I know they got rid of some from the regular line, so maybe they’ll end up adding them to the regular line as well?
It is odd!
Always wanted Water Deities and Clear Water! Of the 2, I will likely get Water Deities first. Even the yellowish duochrome-y Little Lovely could make a fab topper to warm up a pink lipstick that runs cool.
They are so fun 😀
These all look the same to me, no color except for some shimmer. Think MAC could’ve just done 1 of these.
I think Clear Water & Water Deities can look different based on what you layer them with, personally!
I love Water Dieties!
Me too!
Meh. I can pass on all of these.
Money saved!
I NEED Clear Water!! I live about an hour away from the closest MAC counter. But next time I head down, I’ll be trying to pick this up!! It’ll be beautiful. 🙂
You could order online, too!
I really like Water Deities, and your eye look is amazing!
Thanks, Pami!
That eye look!
🙂
That eye look is =O
LOVE IT
Thanks, Brooke!
Perfect pocket sized gloss! Not crazy about the texture but I’m all about that shiney glitter…your pics are gorgeous Christine!
Thank you, Trish!
I like Water Deities though it would look terrible on me. It’s a nice color to balance out a warm smokey eye, though I could see it working with a blue smoke too. Especially if the looks are matte.
I bet if you paired it with a lipstick, it wouldn’t be terrible!
I’m loving these. I think Little Lovely’s pink shift and sparkle would be a gorgeous topper.
They are fun, sparkly shades 😀
