MAC Lapisluxe Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Trio
MAC Lapisluxe Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Trio ($25.00 for oz.) is a cooler-toned shades. The three shades coordinate well together, but the Veluxe Pearlfusion is one of those eyeshadows that you may love or easily skip right on by. This formula is supposed to have “sheer coverage with a soft finish” when applied dry and “super saturation of colour with metallic brilliance” when applied wet. My experience with this formula is that sometimes it can be really nice, other times it is a total miss. I think they are most practical used damp or over a slightly tacky base if you want to use them dry. They’re actually longer-wearing than you might think, given how they feel and swatch, but I usually get seven to eight hours of crease-free wear.
Lapisluxe #1 is described as a “white sparkle.” It’s a very glittery, sparkling bright white with a metallic sheen. It had a very loose consistency, so it was difficult to apply dry as most of it would drop below the lid–a glitter adhesive would really come in handy with this. Even damp application, which if you press the product onto the lid, still has some fall out, so you’ll still want to use a tacky base with this shade to make it workable. The “color” left behind seemed to stay on for around seven hours, but there was definite fall out. MAC Angelic (P, $21.00) is less shimmery. MAC Fancy Frosting (LE, $18.50) is darker. Make Up For Ever D124 Crystalline White (P, $21.00) is less shimmery. Dior Golden Snow #3 (LE, ) is darker. YSL Eau d’Argent (02) (P, $30.00) is brighter. MAC Plumluxe #1 (P, ) is more shimmery. MAC Permanent Press #1 (LE, ) is warmer. ColourPop Swan (LE, $5.00) is warmer. Guerlain Cygne Blanc #2 (LE, ) is less shimmery. Urban Decay Cosmic (P, $20.00) is more shimmery. Too Faced Frost (LE, $16.00) is brighter. NARS Opal Coast (LE, $25.00) is darker, more muted. MAC Regal Affair (LE, $19.50) is darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Lapisluxe #2 is described as a “sparkly ocean blue.” It’s a purled-blue with warm, plummy undertones and blue sparkle. It had semi-sheer coverage applied dry with some fall out over time, while damp application was more opaque and smoother with less fall out. It lasted for seven hours with light fall out. Tom Ford Beauty Cobalt Rush #2 (P, ) is less shimmery. Urban Decay Half Truth (LE, $18.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler. Too Faced Badass (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler. Urban Decay Voodoo (LE, $18.00) is lighter, warmer. Chanel Apparition (LE, $36.00) is less shimmery, darker. Fyrinnae Because Cats (P, $6.80) is brighter, cooler. theBalm Pipeline (LE, $16.00) is lighter. MAC Fathoms Deep (P, $20.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer. Too Faced Head Over Heels (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery, less pigmented, lower quality. MAC Get Physical (LE, $21.00) is warmer. MAC Feel the Fever (LE, $21.00) is darker, warmer. MAC Feel the Fever (LE, $21.00) is darker, warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Lapisluxe #3 is described as a “deep grey-navy.” It’s a muted, dark gray with cooler undertones and a pearl finish. It had the same coverage–semi-opaque–whether applied dry or damp, while the consistency was firmer and more difficult to blend. This shade wore well for eight hours before fading. Chanel Gris Exquis (LE, $29.50) is less shimmery. Bobbi Brown Gunmetal (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery, darker. MAC A Waft of Grey #3 (P, $21.00) is warmer. MAC Plumluxe #5 (P, ) is darker. Tarina Tarantino Lovely #3 (P, ) is darker. Urban Decay Dagger (P, $18.00) is less shimmery. Hourglass Graphite #4 (P, ) is darker. MAC Deep Cravings (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery, darker. MAC Thunder and Rain #1 (LE, $21.00) is darker. theBalm Matt McDonald (LE, $16.00) is cooler. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Oh yikes, I can see the fallout in the pics, and there’s a patchy spot in the middle of the lid, where the shadow didn’t apply smoothly. I think MAC should throw in a tube of glitter glue with this kit, as I don’t think regular primer is going to cut it.
They should, haha!
Wow, those swatch so poorly!
They could be a lot better!
Ugh. Looked so promising in the pan.
Per usual! 🙁
when i read “gold to golden orange to smoky green” i was like “this eyeshadow is like that blue dress everyone thinks is white huh” – hope it is just a typo! Made me laugh though, was sure it was the dress
Don’t finish reviews at 2AM, check!
Pretty colors and pretty on you. Too many dupes to tolerate the problems though.
Very true!
This seems more typical for veluxe. The colors are really, really pretty though.
I love the cool toned palette and I love the colours – but I don’t love the quality, the ratings and the price for such a poor product.
Again, your eye looks is totally stunning – it is really beautiful.
I think I will stick to my Les Gris – the best blue palette in the world.
It’s always disappointing to see the Pearlfusion shadows getting such low marks-but I love them! There’s something about wearing them in the daylight hours that just appeals to me. I guess it’s the idea that I can make them as subtle as I want & still have impact. Primer is a must whereas foundation on your eyelids is a no no with this formulation. Very pretty colors though- Thanks Christine!
